So that's that's going to be an exciting tale to tell Where did where did the So it started in Vegas or what did you do Yeah, u So once a year, this group of people that I poker with goes to Las Vegas, notot necessarily to play poker, just to kind of hang out together. Um, And so I mean, some people play Sure A little bit, but it's not as if like the trip really is centered on poker in any way. It's a group of guys you gamble with and then you all meet up in Vegas just to shoot the shit Yeah, I mean, it's funny I guess you could like I don't even think about it Gambling. because everyone just kind of sits on the zoom and it's like, oh, who won? and you know, it does cost a couple of bucks to play, but it's u It's more of like a you know, like youre you're paying to get into the Eagles lodge or something. I don't know. but it just does it doesn't feel so much as like a whichich is anyway, it doesn't matter. but so I started there on Friday. Um And our man Koharski couldn't come this year. That was a bummer Uh, but, uh No H hadad some fun and I'm wearing a Las Vegas shirt. Actually, somebody was asking to see the fish Shere shirt Sere, spere, sphere, sphere showed it off. Yeah, give it to him. It's just a good shirt It's a nice shirt Yeah, well, there' there was there was actually a forbidden door shirt that I was like, I like that. I would get that shirt, but Um Ashley Jerry, they left like what felt like almost an hour before us from where we were hanging out before and they were still back in the merch line. you know, because I also think they only had two They only had two merch places and They didn't even both have everything. One was seemed like more of the main one Anyway, But like the entire entntire wrestling Iustry needs a fucking enema on the merch. you know, it's like there's just so many bad shirts. but But there was one They did. it was like on a sort of a Maybe it was a white shirt. it almost felt a a little like off like eggshell or something, but and it just had a cool little Um, you know just a like small pocket hit of forbidden door with like differentifferent continents, the different countries involved. U and then on the back was like a bigger version of that and then it had like the company logo. It was it was a cool shirt I was like, oh, that's fucking cool I'm not getting in line And then when I eventually was like, oh, I can get to the I can get to the table they were like they only had three 's left. but Um, which I also thought was weird because usually AAW will put those shirts on the website, but Not this time. Oh, I thought you're going say usually the three X's are the first to go. Well, yeah, it's weird. L I feel like for a little while XLs have kind of enjoyed a little Um, you know, where it was like the largest go Yeah And then the twos and the threes and you can usually catch up to an XL, but maybe, you know, the the Ozempics and I don't know what the I don't know what's happening. But the size people's sizes are changing. sure People are changing. U but yeah, so I was in Las Vegas until Sunday morning and then I over to Uh, San Jose and um the deal. I went I went to u Fook that we've eaten at a couple of times that is good eats Vinamese restaurant, there's It's it's not dooc fu unless someone sounds like they have tuberculosis and that's part of the fun of being there. But Uh Y, it was good times. and I ordered a Vietnamese coffee Ah because I hadn't I hadn't had any coffee at that point for whatever. Sometimes when I'm flying early in the morning, I just want to like want to make sure everything's cool Those things It's like pulling the cord on on a lawnmower. Right. Well so I don't think I if I had had Vietnamese coffee before, it wasn't like this. The guy brought out a cup Yeah. And on top of it was a whole gimmickry He's like, you know how this works? I go no. He like lifts a little lid off. He's like, when this water's gone this off and pour it into the cup with the ice. I'm like, okay And so I'm sitting there for a while and I even call him back over. I go, is this thing? He goes, Yeah, it's going, it's going I'm like I'm be done eating by the time this fucking' coffee iss good to go. Andandem That's when you want the coffee though. And then so I poured in and there was clearly like some sort of U It almost was like a syrup, but it like like a condensed milk like a You know, in the bottom of the cup with it. I'm like, Yeahah, yees stirring that up. Then at the end made me feel like I was a pussies like He's like, how was it I go, Oh good He goes wasas it strong enough? I go,, was fucking' super strong. He's like, Yeahah, we take ours black. As if like, You know, It I didn't know what I was kid de I didn't request the whatever that shit was the syrup of the fucking frosting. Well good Good. because the I don't think I could have Maybe that's what to get you all zipped up No, I don't I mean, It It's we w we walk over to the ranch ninety nine. I can I can take a fucking large cup of coffee to the face and just roll over and go to sleep. yeah But one time I did have Turkish coffee. And I have also told you a story the first time I ever had really any coffee at all. I'm have th. so I'm sure the kids listening don't recall it Um I was like meeting somebody. This is so I used to work, you know, obviously as discussed in parks and recreation And this was like early days just on grounds maintenance. So I was like working like a You know Five thirty to one thirty or six to two or something And I'm probably fucking twenty years old or something. And u I'm sitting there like at the mall waiting for this guy and I'm like having a hard time This. I got to So I go to this like little kiosk and I get an espresso And I drink that thing but And you you would just decided I'm not straight edge anymore or you No, no, you The whole thing was being Mc The caffeine was never the caffeine has never been discussed As far as I know in straight edge. I've never heard that before since that thing I saw with him. So caffine was never a I knew nothing. I mean, people were drinking fucking Coca Cola likeike it's there was never any dis that was some weird sect, you know, I mean, they were okay. I didn't know if they were carboncing, you were backs out in Utah. You know, there's a lot of different fucking Yeah yeah. I didn't know how yeah. So I know you're running around your house hiding L Zeppelin record. Well, that was a separate issue. Yeahah. but So that had that had a yeah, more to do with gatekeeping. but u Anyway So I drink this espresso and I yeah, I thought I was gonna fucking koolid man through a wall, dude. I literally was going because I'm like, oh What they do on the cable now is They play it once and then it replays And then you can just hop in and order a replay And so I was going in This is last time mind you. Yeah. Couldn't find it And then literally called the cable company. Yeah. And I was like, man, this is this is old school. I'm calling the cable company about payerview forgetting Until the woman on the phone told me, she's like, No, the replays on HBO Max You know outright? Right, what am I doing Yeah, I was like where are you why are you involved in cable at all? Like HBO Max has all of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm so dumb. So I wouldn't say that now, please He nodded everybody. you're not watching the So I go into So obviously, I'm working all weekend And Sunday was a travel day And so yesterday Um, I'm getting stuff done I'm helping Glenis in the garage. I'm you know Do it all And finally things settle down I go into HBO Max to order it I'm O My What is this There's a fire stick in here. This is the problem, apparently. Yeah It won't work. And it's also it's one of these things where I'm like all right, so I tryed the other TV in the living room Glenis is doing bad, you know And the HPO max is on It's like everything else is on is under my name for whatever reason, the HBO is under hers Mh hm So there's coming up and it's like You got to buy the payer view, which I'm fine with Sure. But then it's like Okay, which which one of these you know, credit cards. And I'm like, I'm like what the fuck are these, you know? And I'm going through my wallet and I'm like, none of them are mine. So I'm like, all right, this one must be hers So I click on that. So now it's like, okay, we sent a confirmation to the email until the end I'm like So I'm pixed, baby. Yeah So then enough time goes by that it doesn't get confirmed. And I don't know if that led to all my problems, but like I'm fighting with it for it felt like a half hour. of I order it She confirms that I get an error message. I'm getting different error messages Then finally, I go, she's like, do you want to just because now Jax' le She's like, do you want to just watch it in the bedroom And then there's the Roku So then I try it I think I tried it one more time on the HBO But at this point, I've already Googled How else can I watch it? And you can order it on prime Hmm Okay, whichich I didn't realize. Okay I don't know It's unreal dude. So what so what Yeahah, I mean, that's a that's a journey of Natty Gan right there. What what matches did you see I saw the The Youngbucks Lcha tag, which is unbelievable This show seems like it's unbelievable. I didn't even get like I watched Kenny and Zach Saber Junr., which is unbelievable. and I watched Mox and Bandido, which I'm like, this is this is tremendous. Yeah. I would say like Like not that you weren't Prioritize Finishing this show Oh, it seems like it. Yeah prioritize it. And I hope, you know, we we do some spoilage on this show. U and so I will talk a little bit. O spe I'm not worried about that. I mean I saw that Jay u Right. JY came back. JY came back. But u I mean, it was it was it was it Every time I'm at an AEW payer view, I think maybe instead of like following the dead I should just justust follow just go to every AW. I mean, you know, like it's just like and I'm I'm already like, o, Oh yeah Rania is is in another country next year. So that means we can just plug in an AW payer vview of our choice. I will say And I don't You know, I I hate to spend time U talking about the negative things seemems like something that only getting worse, but M we had somezos behind us, man. No, we had some Bzos behind us that like and here's here's the deal. I'm just coming off this Fucking ear tests, I'm waiting on my custom earplugs to come in and I somehow forget to have earplugs at all And The main the head of the snake was like right behind me of this little crew And he was fucking yelling and coughing Oh sneezing and I was just like sitting there because because um, you know, it's like it's one thing when someomeone walks down the aisle and it iss like standing in your way That is agreed upon as like you're not supposed to be there. This is like you're in the wrong Part of me, even though like, meanwhile, I'm in my mind you know, doing felonies on everyone around me U like my thought is like it's like you go to a concert and people stand up. Well, you're at a concert, you know, Okay, I'm at a wrestling show are allowed to yell like even if I don't like what they're yelling And even if they're like obnoxious and whatever, like I don't it's hard for me to go like, I should turn around and tell this guy to shut the fuck up. You know what I mean? Like I just I And so this dude, so what it felt like was And was like right. I mean, that is that's that's the truth, you know, you know. Like when some people when you had enough is enough, but I also thinking like Once I do that Ething's everything changes. either right. Either, you know, I'm I've got my thumbs in his eyes or I'm just like it's going to be uncomfortable or there's going to be more bulls like who knows what's going to It's it doesn't, it will not solve the problem. And so just it just creates a new type of discomfort Yeah, so luckily there was a couple of matches in there where they disappeared Um But U It felt like a crew of people like maybe, you know B st like that And it was like one guy broad like one guy knew sort of the most He brought the people who knew less, but knew a little bit of stuff. And so this guy didn't know m as much, but he knew like to the point where I was like You know, I smelt just like a little sprinkle a cornet on them or something, you know because he's like really going after the bucks and just yelling the stupidest shit Like just stupid shit and and getting a couple of laughs. And so it's like as soon as as soon as it started and he got a couple of laughs, I was like, well The night has has ended like yeah this is fucked. you know, we got through it and it didn't. I still was just like this this show is fucking incredible. If I if I just had like earplugs and some over the ear U protect Yeah Yeah yeah, like like gun range. if I was just like doubled up. I would have it would have really weellcome On a related note, Dania Kuna reported from GCW that someone shouted twwist is dick. Oh that happened. that happened here too. That's another one. I just like. It's almost like, you know, the things you would hear on the playground And you're like how is it how how did someone in another state have the same thing? It's like how does Right. It just permeates and How do any iss shs everywhere know It just it's so weird to me I'd like to someomeone needs to make their doctoral thesis on the It went from signs to chance to Um, I'm gonna, you know go on kill Tony after this. L I I've come to the show to Right my did you my my material on the crowd, but anyway. so working out my My son And going in I'm like brought it up to two different people. I'm like, how are they going to get twelve people in this gage? I when I saw that cage hanging above the ring, I was like, holy shit. Yeah. And the thought was like, well, they're just going to be all over. It's going to kind of so happy that that's not what happened. They they they augmented the cage to fit Everybody Yeah the match took place inside of that. That was really cool That is wild Yeah. how How was it watch like I haven't seen that match yet Yeah. likeike how was it in the the stands Bom It was u I mean, I I didn't find it to be difficult. like obviously, you know, a little bit more so just because you're looking through the fence, but I was still able to You know, I mean, obviously a thing or two would happen, but but our seats were such that like The screens up above us on the jumbatotron were kind of blocked by part of the lighting rig So like you couldn't really defer to it because it was like obstructed. So you were just left to. so occasionally you'd be like Is there really a lake of blood on top of those steps in the in the Serve Osprey match or or do my eyes deceive me Is this the most blood I've seen on the floor outside of a ring? you know, like these sorts of things, but Um Yeah, I saw I saw a text referencing the Mda scale and I was like, oh boy, oh baby Yeah. and it was that was the other thing. So like They followed the cage And u Wh closed the show They did Oh ye shit. It was like it was u Mone in my world cage then and then them And so, you know They're kind of they're kind of getting it going And that was a real canvas for this dickhead behind me because, you know, Like things were little quiet, thingsings were not yet action packed and so I I the campas Um, for him to create on ye One of my favorite fucking of like just a show of incredible But I loved so you know, the conglomeration comes down with their backpacks Yeah, but Roddie has Biggest duffel bag I've ever seen. Okay just a giant fucking duffel bag And then there's a point in the match where he's like swinging around hitting people with it and stuff And then a few minutes later It gets unzipped and it's fuckingly a Russianide It was so good. It was so good. Dude Did you watch I like I went in and I watched u GCW show. That Shotzi Lorush match It's it I'm not even fucking around. It might be the best match shots he's ever had Well, let's not talk like that's, you know mean it's not as if like we've got u, you know, dozens and dozens to go from, you know what I'm saying? But yes, I get it which is, I think Well, what I'm triing to do is compliment Leo Rush. Sure. you know. Well I think what's even better Oh that's not how I should say that. but Leo Russ, right? Like When he was doing the other like the black cart thing The mur Of course. I mean anywere like we were kind like this is hard like you're on the Indies and you're trying to and you can't Yeahah But now he's just made a couple of tweaks where it's still this fucking weirdo thing, but it doesn't have the same Well it's less like he had he had too many props when he was doing it the first time And it was like Like like he had the black heart Right, whichich was clearly plastic and kind of like almost, you know, dime store And then he would drink the shit out of it And like he would like transform or something. Well it was the I was trying to remember this too, but I think it was like the fact that there was like this supernatural magical element to it So he like He could never lose That's my recollection of like why because I remember us going like this is kind of hard to do on the Indies because you're like always like youre just supernatural. you're Yeah. I think there was also there was something with his gear either what I don't know if it was what he was working in or if it was a ring jacket, but there was like he came out in that huge giant like it was like a You know, like a triple fat goose, but it had all those like like kind of spiky parts That's what it was. Yeah, yeah, the spikes on it because it's also it's like Any because when you're doing a when you're edging around a supernatural thing the more like Unnatural. elements you're adding into it like cheap Props emphasize how you don't actually have superpowers. You know, So like haaving like this like little plastic heart with like a like on a chain, which I think is also plastic. I'm like Now I could be misremembering it, but the point is I'm like, this is cheap You know, this isn't like because with at least with underndertaker or Bray Wyatt It's like they had a production value to it, which which would which helps sell you know, the drama, whereas? you know, the spikes on the coat. I'm like, man, this is it's it's cheap. Well, honestly that the jacket I felt like was something from Paris Fashion Week. It was like the spikes were not I don't mean I mean sort of in the sense of like they were Like say you had a big puffy ski jacket. No, yeah. I rem part of the puffs were the like but yeah because that that to me seemed more like a fat like a like I bet that coat was dollars No you're probably right, but no, you're probably probably it's probably more than five hundred dollars actually. Yeah, no, no, no, you're probably absolutely right. But in the context the gimmick I also feel like something was like airbrushed. I don't know for me think he was Yeah Riser. Yes because he simplified it. It's like you've got the contact lenses, you've got the black stuff in the mouth And then just and then that's all you need because he's acting weird. He does that gallop and shit. It was so funny because he like there was a point where he clearly mesmerized by MJF's ring where he was like, give me, you know like Give me the ring. Oh man, that's amazing U Well, H and shots did you watch any of the GCW I haven't seen it. H him and Chodzi was great because it that match, I give a star because tell it told such a fun story, but then also Um before the action And then in the match Everything is making sense psychology wise, especially with those two Because at first it's like Um, At first they want to be friends because They're both black hearts. Yeah Right. So in fact, he even picks her up and they're they're just going to leave. They're just going to leave together and, you know, be in love or be friends or who knows what? And then the refereees like No no, no, no, no, no, no You have to have a match So then it starts. It's like he doesn't want to be her up And he even lays down and she's like, no, no, no, no no. I don't want to wouldn't that way She goes to give him a free shot he barely taps her and then he goes to give her a free shot. She unloads on them And now the switches And then they start going at and immediately they're doing like crisscross stuff against the ropes. I love Maybe the same way. I love any time Let me back up There are some people Don't enjoy people who are new to pro wrestling critical of it or particularly the people who are like This doesn't look like a real fight. Tiss is. I've never had this Yeah like the people behind you. I've never had this discussion out loud, but I've had it in my head where I'm like The reason you're not enjoying it is because you've never watched it and you don't know what you're watching Right. because there is a language to progress like that we both understand, and I'm sure most people listening to this understand. And so then when you get into a situation where You'll get this a lot with You know, you watch some some Masawa matches or like some of that some of the early nineties all Japan or like Samoa Joe stuff Or elements of this Leora shotsy match where You know what to expect And then they change it You know, it's like when Joe, the person goes to jump on him and he just walks out of the way. It's like, Ohh, that's what you're supposed to do. That's what makes it so good. So they were doing some of that with like the crisscross stuff where it's like instead of running into the person, then they turned and they just kept going into the ropes. There's a lot of elements like that. And then of course, just the toe base to the floor. and he's So Freakaking good Move that There's there's another element even more so than than Samoa Joe Because when I watch Joe I'm not saying he's better than Joe. What I'm saying is when I watch Simo, Joe, when I watch Leo Rush All I can think about is WWE didn't see anything in this person We're remember he was like he was the You're going to make you a manager. Yeah. M. Yeah, it Did you did you happen to see the, um the hook match Uh no. I went straight to Shotzi and and Leo Good. I don't know, but Anes was so I sat with Anes and Jerry Stumbaugh from the next record store, and Anes had gone to the show the night. Santa Rosa, California Yeah man, you know where it's at And um, He said that like It was I think it was Hook and Atticus. You know, so the match' going good. peopleeople are, you know, on All on hook side hook hook even did the Samojoe like Walk out of the way out of the way it's And u somethingomet happens where, you know someomebody I think it The uh, who are the who's the um The the Oliver Jordan Oliver and whoever that tag team Mhm You know what I'm talking about You know, Jordan All. There just wasn't a finish to that match Really? Yeah, he he was like it just the next the tag the tag teams that were in the next match. had gotten involved because of whatever And so then that match just started and everyone else just faded away and there was no like the winner of the match or by justpafier or anything about it it's just like, I hate. And the other weird thing is, you know, GCW likes to put the A lot of times I like to put that match that people are kind of wanting to see like early in the show Um And this one, I guess was like third or fourth or something, but thinking like, oh, well Hook must have to get on a plane to go to went on the fking on the fucking tll. He didn't you could have fucking could have driven up on Sunday, like it doesn't fuck a matter Interesting I hate to hear that. and Butcher and the Blade were on the show too But those are independents. they don't work for AW anymore. I'm like, okay, that's a little out of nowhere What to me, right? it's sort of curious that On their show, they had the finish of their King and quueen of the Ring and on the AW show you had to finish the O heart, right? which both lead to these title matches Yes Now I'm going, okay, well, I'm not worried about Monet or Osprey, the fact that these matches aren't taking place until the end of August. on the WWE show, I'm going like, so I guess live and Eore are just going to kind of beat each other up for the next months until they get the summerers sl. You know what mean? I'm just going O over here I'm going, I don't know what the fuck they're gonna to You know what I mean? Becauseuse like yeah. Anone I don't Anybody with this Like I saw somebody else going like AW, the you know, the Tony Kons when he was doing. it's just this indie shit. WWE is the place to do that.
