H Proably, but I don't know. Does he know you are a believer Oh I mean, I hope Oh what's your story Don't you dare be sour, Cap for stop and feel power I just watched a little clip from your pod too about what your wives say the most annoying thing you do is Well, I guess it started with what she thinks is annoying. Yeah, rightight? And then what you think of mine. Yeah. which we both felt that we could relate to the We ask you to do something and it takes too long 's always like do this last o. Well, I meant like I second. With my husband, I feel that way. notot like Two seconds turns into two minutes and it's just way too long for her. so. Yeah, because she means like you're not doing anything right now. so could you do this instead? And you're like, I'm relaxed. I'm rel whatever. Yeah, it's my time okay. Yeah you pick your battles. That's right. bt That's right So what is the secret to a lasting relationship? Because you guys have been together since high school, right? Yeah. The secret, there is no secret There is no secret, but I think for us, Cstantly communication, obviously knowing what we what we want from each other I feel like we're always know what not to do with each other. That's important. It's very important. Yeah. Even though it still sometimes happens, we try and limit it, but Um Yeah, it' it's It's it's my person ss it' I'd rather go through a lot with her than anyone else That is beautiful. That is. that. And how did you guys like how did it you moved around a lot, right when you were in high school Seven times you moved? So I moved Seven times before high school and then before high school. Yeah. then My parents said that once I started high school we're going to stay there untill I finish. Okay. But yeah, we met in high school. one of my best friends introduced us Um We both talk about how I think it was at one part of the school. She thinks it was at another part of the school. so we always fight on that. But the story is the same. U I was a freshman, she was a sophomore and my bestman was Bman was a sophomore. And introduced us and she' said like, Oh how do you know maths? Oh we're teammates. And she said, Oh you do you play JV And I kind of looked at her and like smirk the lips.ad? No, one versity and she's like, oh And then they cut it off to a rock and s. And then a couple of years later we started dating, but that's how we met. Yeah. And she thought you were arrogant Probably, but she' like she's like a known freshman ays on Vversity, It wass like, ye Yeah, yeah. just watch me Yeah That's pretty awesome Yeah. And I saw well A least showed me this TikTok about your wife that Did she lose her dad Truly Yeah, she also died of a pancreatic cancer when before I even met her, I think it was She was in eighth grade and eightthh grade pressureures A Yeah, I lost her died of pancic cancer. and since we've been together I'm a foundation. Obviously. and then we do stuff with Project Purple, which supports pancreatic cancer. And that's all I've been trying to help out. never met them. I wish I did But, um, Yeah, he raised a great woman Yeah. Th Th g women A woman? Three sisters? Yeah. sisters. I have three girls It's tough It's amazing. It was t. It amazing. Seeing them how they interact versus me and my sister Oh It's loud They're They're all very passive aggressive. So it's loud, but it's quiet. interesteresting. It's really tense. That's minor just aggressive. I mean, I don't know where they get that from you're not passive aggressive. Straight She' is brually onest. Yeah, the direct. direct. That's good. I like that directness Is there a story like a time when were they testing you out at all? No, actually, I have great relationships with both of them. Yeah Fantastic list about. They never set you up Never, never, No test. Never, no test. Wow That seems too easy Yes It's probably this is probably a test on the way probably. Yeah. I think hear like now that they hear I think you've passed the test. Yeah. Yeah. but're they're great. I mean, they're great. W they in the wedding They were in the wedding. Yeah. They were in the wedding They're great. They're great just the way they act with each other. It's funny to me. Yeah. it's funny to me. Yeah. That's good It's entertaining. Very. Yes. And they're welcoming Oh yeah. Yeah. They're Unbelieable. whole family is unbelieable I You got lucky.. It's very different from my family, but U How so My family's weird. My family's weird. We joke around a lot. we are Very tough on each other Nothings safe really. L it's always a joke inbound So Like, u In the wrestling business, we call it ribing on the square where you're like joking, but Not not Yeah. That's kind of that. Yes. Is there a recent example? And does it mainly come from your dad Yeah, it's me daghter Erica Not my mom, really No. Sometimes when she's in the mood, but it's usually us three. I don't have an example really, but it's just it's always quick wooded stuff. It's right, right? Yeah Like outsmarting each other. Absolutely. Yeah, that's fun. Always one of Witty Banter. Yeah. Does that come from wrestling promos at all? Ebe from my end, not from them from them, Not from them from me ye for me I was going to ask super competitive, right? Is it just you that's competitive? your dad Me and Dad are competitive with each other. withith each other Um We're not too competitive The only comparison that me and her have right now is like we both move to Vill Noova Um, S guys are with a higher GPA? Oh bragging rights Same degree. Oh really But she took four years, I took three. Oh Pus it ps for that scenario plus a play of sport I'm not taking sides. That's our I know better than that. The debateates who's smarter? I'm like, She's like, well, I studied and, Why I didn't study and I am pointo one The p four the three point nine 'm sm She's like actually I'm smarter. I'm taking that's great. I'm smart. It's interesteresting how you're not competitive with your sister, right? Yep That's probably lie. No, mayaybe you just prove that. We can confirm it's a lie. We talk a lot about iconic stories on this show. And when it comes to sports entertainment or professional wrestling, no stories are bigger than the ones written by WWE legends. Yeah? U What is that like, you know, for you and are there moments of friction? Is it a positive? Is it you know It's u It's positive. Yeah. There's moments of friction, but it's a positive Um My dad He mentored me, he trained me growing up. He was never like a coach, on a team me growing up. Okay. So this is the first time where he's actually coaching me on a team. He coach me on the side, he coaches me Um, within playing from a college coach, help me within that system U but it was never him coaching me on a team. So this dynamic is totally different. He has to focus on Everyone, R, notot just you. Not just me But he still he's just as harllow me about everything I do. Harder in some cases Yeah But I think now that I'm older and I've kindind of have a say with him. we talk it out, but There still majority of him just talking to me and me listening, but It's fantastic. He holds me Co every single day. It seems annoying In the end its it's turning out pretty well. makes you better better person, better player. Yeah. it does. It's It gets annoying, but I mean puts in position to be successful for sure Se seems like you handle it really well. Yeah I've I've learned when he's being a dad and when he's being a coach. Like when when we're inside the line,' like, it's coach, it's coach. As soon as price is over joking, it's dead. It's as soon as the game' is over, like Well if I play good, he'lloke around if I play bad, he won't anything throughntil next day But he will never talk me after a game. He's always like We'll recvene tomorrow. we'll talk about tomorrow, but we won't get into into it right now. respect each other one hundred percent,. No question about that I had to learn that difference. and my dad was Vince in business, and then he was dad at home The linees blurred a lot though Picularly when you're playing a storyline out, you know, on live television, but yeah But it is it's an interesting Dynamic. you know, and how you and respecting both sides. It's tough. It's really tough and then You never really know what like where you are emotionally at that exact time. you never know where this conversation is going to go. L've You talked about it recently. like there have been moments where like Obviously, if I curse out my dad off the court We're going argumently it's not to end well. Right. It's no, no But like on the court Um One time he saidays something to me and I was just like in the heat of moment, I was like The hell up It's a different Yeahah. And he looked at me and he looked at me and was like, okay. He didn't say okay, but he was just like We'll talk about this later. A little bit later.. So you can't onn the court, I'll give you that but like off the court you can't do that. I'm like, Oh 's a little give. I mean to win you guys have use it to my advantage. thing. The next day at practice, you're just going off on them. Oh yeah.' it wouldn't work in practice. only in the game time. On' a moment. H's a moment. Practice is There's no outside metia, no cameras, so that wouldn't work. but Nor would you want to necessarily, right? You don't talk to I don't talk to my parents that way. Yeah. I don't talk to my parents. What about coaches? Do you talk to coaches that way in general No Honestly He's the first coach I've ever really like cursed at See? Yeah. Damn. Yeah. Like Yeah,s he's like the first coach I actually like curach that. No actually not to back. There's something popped in your head. Yeah Without saying the name, what was the story? or can you not tell it They'll give it away. All right, All right. Yeah, But there was a moment Moments. Moments. Okaykay. Yeah. All right Younger? I mean, yeah, younger NBA in the NBA. Okay ye Yeah. That's kind of where I was going.A And what would you say Like you said you learned what not to do with your wife. I think it's really important in life to learn what not to do as well as what to do And maybe this coach taught you what not to do. in that moment. So what are some of the key lessons that you've learned, that you've taken away from coaches positively and negatively Wellow I still keep in touch with most of my coaches I've had, my high school coach, my midd school coach Really? Yeah, my college coach. Um Middle school. Yeah. Yeah Mymistter coach actually helps out with I can't in the summertime, so was my house of coach help help out foundation wise as well Um I keep in touch with them. and I feel like I've learned Obviously learned basketball from them, but like you learn so much Just being around them and you pick up things as you go along, oh I learned this from this coach, I learned this from that coach. You kind of blend it to make it your own style of play Um, Yeah, I keep in contact with all of them. and I feel like I gained a relationship and like a mentor and more than anything. Ibviously how my dad and my dad played the NBA and I got to learn a lot from him Bassel wise Meeting people. like that. who may not have had that type of experience that my dad had. Um You get a different perspective and you enjoy it, you appreciate it. and Yeah, I mean, I've I've learned somethingong way every time I've been somewhere. I think the best coaches are often life coaches too Right? because they teach you how to Be the best person you can be, not only the best player you can be. Yeah. If they're a good coach Yeah, they're we all We are one E questush I had back then we all won something. So it's It's Thissant a lot to me And can you talk a little bit about your foundation and your camps? Yeah? So Searound Foundation is the name. And second round Okay draft. Yeah So With that being said, it's You're kind of being overlooked. It's like My philosophy going through my foundations is like you're being overlooked, how can you be the best person player or whatever you want to be? How can you be the best at whatever you want to do by hard work, it's by education. it's by L Will spout your mentality. And so When I when I go to like my my high school campps, that's why I talk about like, no matter what you do, like this may not be like your favorite sport. You may be better at something else, may be it may not even be a sport. like however you attack it, you attack it fully. and can you attack it until you You can't do it anymore Um That's just the mindset I want to instill in the youth with sport, with education And um And not the coolest thing about it, I don't think The name is very unique to obviously what I'm doing now, but No matter what I would have given back to the community somehow some way. That's just who I am. that's just how I've been raised in Itesn't really matter like what I did or what I became. It was always going to be something for me to give back. And now you're in a position where you can do that in an even bigger, more meaningful more impactful way Yeah And now you're imparting some of the lessons that you learned So what is that winning at life mentality, right? Like you were saying, whatever it is, you attack it fully. Can you explain that a little bit more? Yeah, so you always want to You always want to work hard, obviously. That's number one What is just as important is controlling what you can control Like there's so many outside factors that haveave nothing really to do with you For some reason, you let this se into your mind. And so u When you control the things that you're able to control, it helps you become a better person, helps you focus on the things that's actually important Tntil you achieve whatever your goals are. Um You cut it all the BS. just you cut everything else out. like, Hey, this I can't control that My mind's not focused on that. This is what I'm focused on and it helps you achieve your goal faster or at least in mes it did. When you're worried about what people say about you or think about you, positive or negative Um can stk your growth. And so for me, that's just that's a couple the messages I're trying to hammer home Um people down I'm trying to help What about social media Social me is tough That's obbviously, it's a way to connect I love it. It's a way to connect Um, But like Now Like all like the gambling stuff and U player props and everything, can't you can't keep everyone happy. If someone's gonna to be upset that you messed up their bet or their slip or whatever, and they're gonna to attack you Yeah somehow some wayay. I look at it and I laugh. Like now I laugh. At first, I was like, what the hell is going on? Now I laugh. Like it's actually comical knowing that people meshes me and say, Hey, like I just bet my entire mortgage on Yes. Im Why? You have a problem with my entire mortgage on. Did I tell you to do that? Or like my rent or something? L I need help with tuition I'm like betting Like now, it's funny. There's some that are scary and something that we actually have to deal with Um But yeah, it's that part of it his Funny now But it always hasn't hasn't always been And what about for kids you know, the kids you're coaching the kids that that you're working with, like how How do you help them with social media drowning out. noise or hate or Wh still encouraging connectivity and community. That' good. is the tricky part. I think I can probably do a better job of that How would you say that Um wanting to make sure that obviously you want tona be as positive as you want You don't want to post every single thought, evenven though it's like you can, you could post every single thought, every single thought you have U C me think positive and Not everyone needs to know everything Right is very important it' something that I probably should start doing more of Privacy, hadn't really thought about that either You know? Yeah, everyone knowing everything is unnecessary. Ver. Yeah. especially when you're a public figure, but and when you're a kid, right? If you have to post what you eat, what you wear, should I wear this outfit? Should I wear that outfit? Yeah. But then When you think about as a grown person Right? Like, yeah, not everybody needs to know everything about your business And you feel like you're supposed to share it all for some reason, but why? Yeah It's your life. You share what you want to share. and people are getting paid to literally share their every move every outfit So that might be different. No, I mean so like this younger generation is right, right.ee That's what they see. S Yeah. That's like one thing I worry about. I have two young kids and I'm like, How early we're talking about cell phones at six years old, like Yeah Yeah Yeah, I don't know, but my daughter has't Truly like she doesn't have an iPad She doesnn't really watched TV yet U we're kind of we're slowly integrating that. everyvery now and then if you're watching something she' like look up, but like maybe a little wrestling Yeah. Maybe here and there. She definitely will be watching that. Um But um Yeah, I feel like intntegrating that so young I've seen it and I'm like, ah Not really for that right now, but she loved her books Well that's great. That's great. She does love her books, but does she like pull you down and hand you a book to read or sure. So before bed When I'm home, sometimes I read to her and We' read a book, I'm like okay you night, she just go like h You're not done. And then we get another book and then it's another book and then we'll read like three or four books. I sound good about bad So doesays she ever go to bed Yeah. Yeah Yeah. Eventually. Eventually. Eventually. Sometimes she's up, but She's she's been pretty good doing the night now That's great. Yeah Last name was Ben Now that I say it last night was bad because we flew back from Alsar last night Right They little time chang mess throughout Yeah Yeah. I used to have my kids on the road And I would try to keep them on East Coast time. Because we don't we Oh yeah. Yeahah, we travel in And then we had a bus, a tour bus, so it was kind of like our apartment. and then we'd go, you know to the next town and then typically we'd leave the next day. So it wasn't really long enough to acclimate to a new time change. I would try to keep them on East Coast time And when you're in California or you know, wherever, that's three AM wake up call. and the restaurant's not open So you can't bring them in the hotel, you know, because we park in the parking lot, you can't bring them in for breakfast or anything like that. So it's like Cheios T to put themem to bed when it's light out, and you're like, no, trust me. Yeah. It's bed May you can you can pull shades down on the bus. But yeah, but they never She has legit like blackout curtain.. Yes. It'd be full on bright outside and there No No ounce of light. oce light her. Yeah. Yeah. I try to do that for me too. Sounds great. Yeah. It's like a cave Oh good thing Sometimes I want black curs, but I feel like Oh, yeah. Yeah. My youngest who now is almost sixteen is like that She likes her curtains open I don't like them open. Oh. She likes them open. She wants to know when it's morning time so she could get up Yeah I don't know where she go. I need it like like that. look a little bit light. This a little. It's a little bit of light. shouldatch. Do you have a hatch Alarma H have you heard of those? Yes. Yeah.. Aardos Jordan red and thereen. like starts to wake up, it gives you Certain Do varying degrees of light No it's a regular phone alarm. reggular phone alarm. Just Yeah. So a little bit of light and a phone alarm and that's good for you. What's your day of routine So Night before. So we We just a practice, obviously Night before I always go back About ninety five percent of the time I always go back for a home game So go back I shoot for about twenty minutes, twenty to thirty minutes Um Just like a simple routine. it's really not that much, but it's like it gets my mind right. And it's And then I was to go home eat dinner, get ready for bed, do whatever U day of So if you have a game at seven thirty tomorrow Son's going be at ten o'cl probablyrobably the house around eight thirty, eight, forty five. They're around depending, you know aboutout like nine fifteen ish. Sos like nine twenty. I'm in the training room, a nine forty I' in the courtroom. routine before sheoot round We have her shoot around for about an hour. then I Cold tub right after, shoot around. Chocolate pean butter, protein shake. G home U Oh, you will go home. Okay I'll go home for a little bit. Um Excuse me, I forgot a big thing Night before I always pick up my outfit Okay. Yeah Night before because day of you start switching and then you're just Yeah, it's not good. So I tried to do that night before that your home do my normal take recovery boots, take a nap for no longer than ninety minutes ish. Wake up, eat Get to the garden and then That's a whole another routine So a nap Yeah And that just Chills you out Yeah, it's a long day and sometimes I don't get the best sleep that before. Yeah. ye. I take a nap for I can't do longer than ninety minutes. If I do that, I feelill up a little off. Yeah. And that's for home games or every game. U H games Excuse me. that whole routine was the home games.n the road in the hotel, it's a little different. Okay I mean, still they're sellving me a nap. Um It varies a little bit on the road If it's an early game, obviously there's no nap, right no nap time. But like after seven, seven thirty, yeah,ll do I'll take a nap Good Yeah. What like that? What's the pre game meal? doesn'tatter M switches. All right, exxcept the chocolate, peanut butter shake. Yeah, the shake kind of 'use you were very specific about. Yeah that st the same. Now I won't. That stayays the same. As there added chocolar just chocolate flavor protein plus peanut chocolate prote.. Chocolate protein, like peanut butter or banana C in the water I and either pineapp or mango, whatever I'm feeling that day Instant coffee packets in there to coffee him day Oh on g Bter. Okay No coffing. Interesting. No coffeeing in. Macha Macha Obviously. Yeah actually And what are the recovery boots Like the Normal tech recovery booootst that you like you saw Oh, the the inflatable Yeah. Okay Yeah. No, no, Yeah no, it's just inflated. It's like pressure. It's like kind of like you're supposed to get your legs back. Sometimes I feel it works, sometimes it doesn't.. Why I do it. But you're just gonna do it anyway. Yeah. Yeah. justust in case. And how about in the car rides Are listening to car rides it varies you. Im like you're in and out twice, right? So It varies. whatever I'm feeling, If I feel like I need to pick me up somethingomet that will get me going if I feel it too like T hyper like I Listen to something little bit more mellow, but The last song I listened to before right after a team meeting, right before we run out, it's always a bever song Really? Yeah Any particular one? No. no.uff souff is either one or two. depending on how much time we have after the meeting H And how' you get into that I know that That's cool. She lo that. She u In my freshman year of college, it's when purpose came out, this purpose album came out. and then I listen to it. likeike before games, I would listen to it and we were winning. We were playing well and then we won a national championship my freshman year S right I'm just gonna give this a thing and then And is he Aware U Proably, but I don't know. Does he know you are a believer? Oh ye. I mean, I hope. I mean I hope. but yeah, he's Yeah his music helped me out a little bit I met him once. Yeah. Yeah, briefly before a Floyd May Weeather fight do? Yeah, he's well he seemed to be Yeah Lo his music. Yeah. Obviously it works for you. That's a good thing. Yes. like we like that that works for you. So after yeah freshman, we won the National Championship and then my junior we won again in my are. is this is a staple of my routine So now you grew up Being around basketball with your dad, being a player and traveling and being exposed to all of these different stars your whole life, which is very similar to me in the wrestling world. Right? Like I was, you know Everybody's coming over for dinner. you know, it was like come home from school and Rick Flair's in my living room. L just yes No, Always entertaining. Yes. He's always entertaining. But so It's funny because people, you know, wrestling fans freak out that, you know, that was kind of my life. You know, Andre was one of my best friends. Andre the Giant. curious from your perspective, basketball fans, I'm sure freak out about all of the interactions that you've had. and I know you've told some of those stories, What do you think you learned the most? being around everybody all that time I learned that one it was not normal I thought it was normal Yeah, it's normal for you' out you around it. Yeah,'s good Like I told a story like a long time ago and it made its rounds like I met mya Jordan when I used was the wizards and had dis chgy like when I was Younger, whenever arerena we were at, I always got like that team's jersey. And it was Michael Jordan jersey. And I met him at the game. said, Hey, like, you want me sign your jersey? And I said, no, you mess it up. Yeah. Has he not sent you asigned jersey No. I should probably get that done. We we make that happen. Probablyn't it? Probably has a little of resentment for me for that but ye Yeah, like C coolest thing I learned though, is like you see like You see you see like the finished product. and you see like the guys on the court, you see them playing well, you see like All the hooppla, like everything that's going on you when it's in front of a camera When you see in the practice general, you see in the summertimes and you see No one's around like how hard these guys work. Yeah and you see that you like the process the process and like Yeah how these guys really do work hard. And then you also see people that don't work hard. Right. You like, that guy's really good. He doesn't really work that hard as much as I thought he would after seeing like what like my dad worked really hard. Yeah He obviously was on on guaranteed contracts every year for his entire career and then just seeing him work every summer on family vacations like he's still like working out, training like he's always doing something. and I just thought that was normal. So that's what I kind of implemented into my routine in my life. But then you see that guys don there's some guys that don't really do that much kind of Um Do you lose respect? No, I don't lose respect. No Like everyone has their own thing. Right. Everyone has their own thing. As long as you show up and you're ready to go. Right Do what you gott to do but I just know how like My confidence comes to my work ethic. So if I'm working, I'm confident.'m good. It's like preparing for like a testy study You're going to be prepared for it U. You see a lot And um, I was Very thankful that I've been. So work ethic, obviously above all Right. And that's what you were saying too. It's the first thing that comes to mind when you are coaching athletes yourself you in life or otherwise and Why do you think that's so important Why does it give you that confidence Um well, for me, like I just know that Um Like when I'm working, I'm not second guess myself There's times where I do second guess myself my game I always talk to myself, hey like You work way too hard to be confident Yeah, You work too hard So stop over thinking, just play Um, Your seselff talk. Yeah, my self talk. It works. like For me it works and I just know what I put into this. and so to try best at to feel any type of way. Um, You know, it's interesting Floyd and my husband will tell this story because that's he was walking Foyid to the ring, we were in his locker room. before a big fight and he was just hanging out on the sofa And his kids were all running around and he was just hanging out. and you know, Paul asked him, like, so what's your what are you thinking now? L, what are you What do you do before your fight? And he said, Well If I'm not ready by the time I get here, Is then I'm not I'm not ever going to be ready. You know, and it was such an interesting perspective you know, just because Everybody gets nervous right before they do something and it's like, no, no, if you're prepared. If you've done everything you possibly can to prepare for that moment then you have to have the confidence in yourself that You know what you're going to do. You know, obviously, you don't know what's going to happen or you know, what other people are going to do or circumstances you can't control, but you can control the work you put in Exactly And then it's second nature versus having to think so much I remember like someone asking me like Like like what you work on like in the summertime and off season? I workking like trying to be the most complete player can be. you workking on a lot of different things,re working on a lot of different situations So it becomes like natural. becomes instinct I don't think I'm going to do this and this and this and It never really works out that way. You kind of want to kind of play off like your habits and your instincts and So When I think about like game time situations and what I'm doing on the court like in the summertimes like How can I get to a point where these things are comfortable so I can actually do it and react instead of having to think about it I love that philosophy And it certainly works for you. I mean, I hope I hope. I love that everywhere you go N fans chant MVP Yeah. I mean, that's pretty cool. Even even at the garden for WWE, they were channing MVP. So that W that adrenala us? There was craer than any other like game, any type of environment I've been in because like Like you said When youre prepare for moments, like you're not really worried about anything like that. I was not prepared for what I was getting myself into. Yeah There's not a lot of rehearsals. Is that yeah. Yeah. I knowew what to do, but like The thing is like in a game, like you practice certain things like You kind of know what you're going to get yourself into But certain scenarios. Yeah, that was. That adosis was There's nothing like it. Nothing like it. There's nothing like it. It's the ultimate drug. It really is at all, especially being like MSG. Like if it was anywhere else I don't know, but Dven' That place I mean, you had some swagger, I have to say, you really did. I tried.ed T not to hurt my hand too. Yeah, I'm sure. I tried And you hop in the barrier even you like cool jumping over the barrier. I was to hate. You definitelyreck. on' trip Yeah. No, I didn't. Really? No. I don't know if I didn did Proably the whole thing was a blur Yeah. That's how it happens.. Yeah And then you replay it like a million times. Yeah I remember I kn I throughrew that train and a little too far. I knew that. I knew that. Yeah you were like so excited, right? Yeah. I was like right before I got in the ring I was like, donon't like push on your hand. 'a I was like five weeks out of like surgery Yeah, just don't push your hand. did a little bit. I don't think there's a drlling rush or anything.ike I didn't feel it. Yeah. was I was right. I'm good. We're good. We're good. Yeah, I saw it late night like when and grabbed it. Grab a chair. that Yeah, because you know your team out there. Right. You are So what what's u You know, we did have Tyes on the pod. So You guys are actually friends though, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah ye Ohy. he's being in the playoffs two straight years though, so Yeah, but's I got a lot of respect for him and his family for sure. Yeah know, he's a great guy. Great dude. Yeah. But it was fun being in there Oh yeah truly before that moment I didn't know he was a big WE fan Oh really until like We started talking about everything came about. and then Bill, I don' I don't think a lot now they now my teammates know like Nates really knew that was a huge like huge WWE in Um But uh, Yeah, since then it's kind of like the fame kind of took off. Everyone talks about it. I've signed like that card of me and Tyse It' likeed aillion times now. Isn't that cool? It like a standoff card. And how' your t shirt do They good. Yeah. I love it. I mean, it's pretty cool. I loved it. Yeah. I actually was in Greenwich Maybe like a month after. Walking down the street and the kid had it on. That's so cool. I'm like hey, it's a nice shirt. He's like, thanks. warking you realize What the mom was like Oh, that's him. She's like, cool. And he could just kept walking. Yeah But it was really cool seeing that. It was really cool seeing that. Yeah, that's super cool. Yeah. So when when did your love of WWE start I think I was in fifth grade Fourth or fifth grade He was in the middle of one of my moves Yeah. as a kid, but u maybe I rally zero seven So that has to be like fifth grade, sixth grade. Yeah, around I was seven is when it really started. I knew about it, but that's when it really, really started. So and Undertaker is one of your favorites. Undertaker U Jeff Hardy, obviously, Tple H, obviously yet to, but Everybody's not just blowown the smoke over here, but he's my favorite. I mean, yeah, honestly, Edge two. Yeah. Edge two. Yeah. There was wereere you watching when it was the brood or like, no, you're too far past that. I was too far past that.. After like when you gain weight, you start to do a little do do your research and so. Brood was so fun. Yeah. I was school. And then when he came and then when he came out I don't know how longo was it, but he had like the skull ye. I with the brut u intro again. that Yeah, that was a cool moment. It's the coolest music. like I loved the brood. Yeah. ye. Big news, WWE and sports fans. Josh Josh is the foreignt team. So I needs someone like Josh, and kind of a do it all type person. Oh don't no, we'll skip Josh We'll put Batist at the three 'ause he reminds me of OG For some reason kindind of quiet people He's quiet. quiet. Yeah. Yeah Tce of three. I'm going to put triple's at the four because I'm going say Josh is kind of Do it all type of person, but always joking around. More times than not. so I'm thinking of DX triple H. so I'm put him at the four U at the two for M Kale There no one really built like McKill in the WWE because McKill's built like that light pole. So I'm gonna say person who wasas't missed Wh is who' missedy game. I put Hebe Roman Oh All right. Roman number two, considering how consecutive he was championship, Mcale's played in so many consecutive games Roman I looving the logic behind anything. Yeah It's very very thorough. Yes. Yes. appreciate that. If you had to pick a superstar that you think is the most like you, Who would it be I don't know That's tough. That's tough. I feel like There's so many personalities And I feel like my personality is kind of More off camera than it is on camera Like when I'm It's like very stoic on the court and I don't really trying to show my motion. U I don't know Howave a curved angle? Wow. Yeah I can see that. No, hey, Joe. You't see that. All right. That's a good one. That's probably a better question for you guys F I think, how am I as a person? Well, you were doing the positions and who would be what because of Yeah, but when you think when I think about myself I'm like,h yeah, it's hard one to It's harder to. But that's good one. Yeah That's a really good one. All right I like that. I like that How like what role did wrestling play in your life Was it like a constant while you're doing all this moving around, did you Try moves on your sister. She's like She's lagh. Yeah I just said that I felt the energy. Yeah, I was jumping off the couches onto like Doing any Jeff Hardy move? Yeah. ye. onps on though. Oh we're doing. Yeah. Yeah. a couple sws. No, no. Don't try.s. I didn't do that on her. Oh that I did that City put thet on the fan. That's pretty creative. It is great Creative Yeah. try us at home. B I'm ceiling fan. Yeah,. That was always a go to actually. Really? But you didn't not it didn't go Right? No, no. Okaykay.Cause's. I mean, that's dangerous. That' very dangerous. Yeah. I read it, Don't try. Okay, I'm just saying. let's set up a letter D' hurt anybody Did't hur That's good. That's good. I would I wouldn't Not try that stuff at home guys. Yeah I just want to talk camera. No, that's yeah, I already did that as soon as a disclaimer flashing right now.. we had a guest last week, Royce and he was talking about Eating Vick's vapor rub, that his grandmother would have him eat a little bit of Vick's vapor rub when they were sick otd paper rub hot He was five and would she would give him a hot todd little scoopa and a scoop of bigix faper rub. I mean, so that was an immediate don't do this, but it became like a funny thing. But yeah, I can't write like on Eth is in there that you would in when I put like Vix like right here, right. it lights right Yeah. I can imagine Eating it. I mean, I guess it cures what ails you, but I am not it worked great. condoning that. I try. Yeah, rightight. please. My kids were sick, so I was like, I'll take anything. That was wild advice. Yeah, that was. That was a big don't try this at home one Yeah. Yeah Don't worry about, I'm not trying that. I'm not trying that. What was like one of your favorite WW moments that you remember either going to or watching or something that you would reenact a lot. like Storyline wise, character wise, anything. O of my favorites John Stames wouldurn at the garden H was that oait for the rumble. Yes. ye. First live event was a live event in Richond, Virginia It was during undertaker and I just kind of Dude Pre prettytty sure like Vicky was involved in that too somehow some way But u That was my first ever event I forig we were sitting. we were sitting kind of up, but I remember I remember it like it was Like it was yesterday. L it was It was so cool. Like me and my friends and we watched. it was whenever it was like a paper view, we all watched at the lat's house. We all watch at their house and then U Once we came close by, like we went. Like it was it was really cool for me. it somethingomething that like I was always going to like event like batffle games. Right. More' getting to go behind the scenes. I mean getting to go see this. like it's I'm saying that like the anticipation of everything something new was like so cool to me. and This was a totally different experience totally different than Joan Rashley was just really, really E exciting. but yeah, I remember that like it was yesterday. ure. G back super late Yeah bet you because we were living in Charlotesville at the time so it was like an hour drive and And were you like geeked on the way home, or did you sleep in the car? I probably passed out. but I was on the way there. was Yeah. Id probably passed out, but it It was awesome. It was I think once I went to a collive and I was like Yeah, this is dope. Hs for life. Yeah. this is some dope stuff. There's nothing like that. energy Yeah. you know, and everybody's super connected by it. It's like you can't help but get caught up in it. Yeah. You know, it's just it's fun. There's nothing like it. Yeah, it was unbelievable. That like I was a family and that got me like They got me really into it Yeah. because I just I think there's something more intimate percent about it, you know, And I think it's really special for fans and talent Plus you can Goof off you can try different things. Yeah Yeah. But yeah, there's there's nothing like those live events for moments like that.. The entrances are by far like one of my favorites. Yeah Yeah entrances are I think the coolest thing Who's the coolest You can't see the coolest.'s' there's many That's tr. Okay. so like some of the coolest that you like Oviously undertaker. he's, I mean, all time for me I remember when, uh isa when he came out with a machine gun I thought that was I thought that was awesome u edge when a long time like early two thousandsish when when I watched it again, like Jeff will come out with like like the black lightight M And had like the paint on them in it I thought that was like the coolest ever What about Juu Honestly, I think there's honestly the coolest thing. Right now it is. And when he runs it back. Yeah when he runs it back. And all the kids that get into it Yeah. There's some kids that look like Like when he's walking down like the aisles and he's doing it, there's some kids that are doing it or are just like staring in the w. I like when you take someone else's kid for a long. He said sometimes people just hand him their kids. I he's like he's o. It's like taking the kids hands. So cute. Yeah. So cute. He's doing something like that. I think it's really cool. What could you do with that to do. I So we did a live podcast And I like, It was like Figuring out how I could come out with like a cool entrance, like some type of And it would it probably would have cost a little bit too much money. but sponsor R, I might What the on the table now? I should. I mean, especially now that we're talking about. for sure. I I was like, can we get like some pyros? Can we get some smoke? Yeah we do. Something small, you know? Something small. Yeah. I's sparkler. Yeah, it looksark. Yeah, A a smoke. Howt I I think about it. I'm like it sounds really cool but like me, I'm too like mellow, like I don't feel like I could I would have to change way I am to like Do that? I don't know It's all in the look. It's the intensity you'd have to have like your competition game face on. Absolutely. Yeah, you'd have to have that. Absolutely. Yeah Now I'm going start think about now for the next whatever, August, September We'll get a doive. All right. All right. I know a guy might want to help you. Perfect. Thatppens to be your favorites. Yeah. Well ye yeah we'll see A. So curious and I think you might not be willing to describe this, but the three points Yeah. like Why do you How did you start doing that? I mean, clearly it's on your merch, right ye. yeah, it's like, so now we actually we sell it for like our foundation. R? So like all the proceeds go to your foundation foundation. But I truly don't know it started? How it started. Like so aboutb four or five years ago in Dallas, I kind of did something like it It was like I don't know why I did. I just did something. I kind of kind of did it So then my first year in New York I didnid't really do it until like Playoff ish And like I remember what I did I made a shot and then there's a camera right there and I did it and I caught it and it slow moeed. and then it kind of went envirable And then I was like, What do it mean? Whats it mean? I'm It means I made a three pointer. Like I don't know. I don't know exactly what it means. Like it just it just happened and then Like when I do like when I see people,, do the celebration, ude, I'm I'm like, you can do it. I'm not gonna do it. I do it when I do it when I make a shot. Right. came out of nowhere. And now it's like You're sing. Yeah. your gimmick. A gimmick. Yeah, it's good. It's like the you can't see me Yeah, it's like it's Literally 's your yeat I just came out of nowhere, and then we capitalized on it. That's super cool. Yeah. That's kind that's kind of how it happens. You never know what it's gonna ex like and then yeah When it's organic is usually when it's the best. Yeah. I just I feel bad when people ask, I don't have an answer. It just came out of nowhere and every I was like, No, that means something. like it truly doesn't. It's like three points to the dome or something. I read about. So that's mellow. Oh, so that that's what point are saying. Yeah, it's mellow Um, There's a lot of good Nick celebrations. Yeah. ye That's a lot of goinges see have the double discount double check from U S Novac, you have Mello, you have Jer Smith like I don't know what you call it, but like That doesn s do something U So who started it? Who was like the first three point celebration? We're looking it up now. It might have been Mllow Yeah. New Yor Smith. It might have been He did like there's people who do like a celebration every once in a while. He did it ninety five percent of the time when we hit the three and that's how Celebrations kind of started. And then in college we were not doing the celebration. Coach Wright was not having it. Oh, he didn't like that. Yeah I remember Russll Westbok did like he would hit a three and he would go like K of like Oh like like a Yeah. Yeah. yeah. It that's cool I used to do it in high school and then I couldn't do anything in college, but brought it back, brouought something back. I donon't know what it means, but's I don't know what it means but hey, its it works. It works, it works. What else were some of the values that Coach Wright instilled in you a lot. likeike he was He was very big on like being professional. Um Look in somebody eye give them a good handshake U He When you first on campvus, he buys you like your first suit Really Sit shoes. tie all that belt gets to get you fitted for everything. So obviously, he's a great coach Coach right, Coach Jay Wright is what everyone sees. We see Gerald right He hate and I don't really like a joke, but We see the we see the real coach right and He made practices harder than the games So he was always trying to do something that was hting you outside your comfort zone. so when it came time to actually T we you have to do it was easier Yeah. And so that was like on and off the court. So That was my biggest takeaway from him. just kind of over preparing yourself to make sure that you're ready. like you're not just You're not just gonna getady for like the kind of bare minimum O preparing. Yeah And did do you apply that philosophy in life Yeah Sometimes. Sometimes. Well in school you didn't becausecause you didn't study. Yeah. That sounds right. That sounds right right. How'd you graduate in three years Uh Well, we had to be in the summertime anyway. Okay, so you just took summer.mer week. Usually people like took one. I just I took as much as I can And um, After my sophomore year, I played really well and I thought, hey, I was going to be ready to leave MBA and then we had a conversation with my parents and they're, you're not leaving. you're finishing My dad said I wasn't good enough, and my mom said, I want your degree anyway. So I was like, okay, well, guess I'm staying. And Coach Wright was like, this is one of the easiest conversations I've ever had And you played in the championship game your freshman year. Freshman and junior year and junior. Yeah. Yeah, I graduated and I was like I want Yeah second national Championship play the year I' like there's really nothing thatse I can. Myself get into a better drap position. Yeah, it was One of the best experience in my life Because because Why I was close to home. I was aboutout forty five minutes I where I grew up most of my childhood. Um Obviously winning cures all everything. Yeah. It's good feeling Good feeling everything and they make great relationships. When when I committed to Villenouve, I told myself I would It wasn't just like a four year It was like a forty year thing, forty year thing. L I wanted a lifetime relationship. And I have that like I still talk to obviously all my teammates. some of teammates I have now still Pch right talked to him like week or two ago There are plenty of people who on campus I still talk to. Yeah, it's like lifelong relationships I have. It's pretty remarkable peopleople around you that you keep, obviously family, people you trust But your middle school coaches, your high school coaches, your college coaches Your dad and even the president of the Ks is your former agent. Yeah That that's why the The longest relationship I have out all of them. because My dad So Leon Rose the present now. his first client ever Where was my father Really? Yeah And so My dad was playing Australia when I was born in so It's I'm pretty sure it's wintert time when it's summertime for us in Australia. So their season is in our summer I was born August And August what? thirty first My daught's august twenty fourth. Okay August thirty first and u Leon saw me before my dad did because my dad was in Australia. Wow. And so That relationship runs really deep And um obviously once say U left, he was my agent and then two years, three years in, he went to be the presresident of the Ks and then Yeah, we're back together P's prettyty cool. Yeah and now his son's agent Oh really? Yeah Wow, you do keep it tight. Yeah, I try. I try. I try K keepe the circle close. Yeah. Yeah. And it has worked out well for you. Yeah. I mean I enjoy it Has there ever been somebody intrude in the circle? she had to kick out reallyally. I don't think Maybe knocking at the circles's door but never really let in They tried. They tried. Yeah I can't say it doesn't work. No work Yeah. Yeah, no yeah, not's the thing about it no, like no one's really been like in this up the way the kick out No there's too chnel. There's too many T many lay Yeah Too many layers Yeah. It's too deep. same. Yeah. can't they can't get the access. Yeah, know. Yeah. No What do you think about Leon becoming the president like going from So Nick Chonn, right was at CAA and then he ultimately came to WWE co CEO and now he's President, again, WWE, TKO, he's making all these incredible moves as a businessman And What do you think there is about being an agent. whyy does that? ultimately make you a success assuming that you believe that he is a success. in the role Yeah, obviously relationships, I think Relationships I think are a big part of it We also think like an organization like this in a city like this, it's like K kindind of a no brain Who wouldn I want to work for like the NX or Another story franchise. LA or like San Francis or Golden State, like Youain one of those positions, one of those teams. like it's just like it's really big opportunity. So once Like I wasn't mad. I was just like, Its a great opportunity for him. it's something he really wanted to do. and so Yeah, I don't I don't bl him at all. And I enjoy being able to see him all the time Obviously, we talk a lot of basketball. It's been a great experience for. obviously I want to win like, what can make this experience ten times better if we end it and we we we win a championship. Yeahiously. That's like that's our number one goal above all. like seventy three was the last one. Is that right? Yeah. She went there. It was a long time. Well, no, I went there because it's a big opportunity. Yeah, ye It's No pressure at. No pressure. Yeah. No pressure at all. Yeah.'s It's been a long time, but I feel like we have an opportunity.ure. M too And how important is one I mean, very important. like we I think we've This season been it's been weird because we've had high, we had lows and like we're creeping back up going back on the high again. L I feel like we're getting better like in the season like you never want to be You'd ever want to be like a finished product At any point in the season. likeike you want to continue to find ways to get better I think we started the season First couple weeks. but then we got Really good won the inseason tournament and then u Kind of since then it was like rocky. It went downhill and then After January we Book up and kind of finished going through the breaks strong playing well. So hopefully we can continue that, but it's important for us to kind of just getet everything else out of the way. like Have tunnel vision Right. Have tunnel vision And as a team, are you able to help each other mitigate distractions Yes. Always will be the distructions. Yeah Al. And that goes back to what you can control and what you can't control. Exactly Isact control what you can control, but there will always be distractions. It's all about like how can you Find a way to limit it. How can you control what you can control and not let things seep into your mind or whatever. likeike you just There were always dractions Always mostly unexpected Yeah, it's it's Yeah, it's mostly unexpected. It could be like during media and they ask you your question, you You say it one way, you don't mean it that way and it's blown all of proportion. Now they're asking another player like, Hey, what do you think about this person's comments? Like how do you feel about that then they're reacting to the way it's positioned. Yeah rightight? And then now you're going back like, hey, like what was actually like Like I said, there's always going to be something that to kind of throw you off your game. Do you feel like the media and not like media in general, but does the media try to Create controversy Within the team? I don't think And that's a great question. Sometimes they can, sometes I don't know if they' That's a goal. That's a goal I think They'd trying to try and get something done like to put like maybe their name out there and kind of see like where a story can take them. I don't know. I feel like the media is go any other way. They train you guys at all not to eat during Press conferences. They should have to say it now. because we have one guy entertainment eats during every press conference. to the point where I don't even am I in the press conference with him anymore. The clips of him like sneaking the pizza box And you're just like, But the thing is he's like eating like he some of the times he's just really hungry I mean, I get it, you just play the game. Just wait five minutes. Wait five minutes. So like once you crack that in the media right now, you're stirring up controversy. Here we go. It's always controversy between me and him. I'm it's always controversy. Yeah, it's always controversy between me. happens he I don't know what to say. But what does he say when you say you can't wait five minutes He's just like, I'm hungry Like, I'm like I get it. But when we're in the media room Like sometimes like it's cod like it's like it's like speakers for people in the back to maybe hear what we're saying You just hear him chewing. Right in the microphone. Right in the microphone. Yeah. he opens the pizza box. The whole room can smell it. H whole room smell. everyone sees it and just like That was didid you never get hungry? You just smelling that pizza Oh yeah, but even wait She was trained. He was He just find a way to piss me off. That was the clip he said he eats a snack in bed. And you old like twizzler. There's like a twwizzler stuck in his wife's leg. It just you made the greatest face of. was I pretty sure I called her I called Shannon after that his wife And I was like, you guys are disgusting. Yeah. I'm very. whenever we talk about something. I was like, what? I call her. I'm like, Is this true or whatever? She's like, Yeahah, but I was like, you guys are gross. You guys are just gross Rct They're actually clean they're clean people. to that. Go to the house, their house is always clean It's always clean. It clean. let me put that out there. I'm just over here. Do you ever get worried you're gonna say something on the pod that's gonna be taken out of context Yeah, me too That'ss' our job to make sure. R. She's paying. We probably a lot of attention. We probably would have been canceled by now. you think really? Well, he would have been The cutting room floor? Yeah, it's good He would have been canceled. I would have been guilty by association. Yeah, it's familiar. That's a real thing too. yeah. Yeah. Can we edit that part out? rememember when we said this?'s like the we'll be talking Therety text I guess. We'll be talking and then all right cut it. We're gonna have to cut this and then like for the next two minutes, we're just saying some outrageous sh Which is all the stuff that people would really want to hear, right? Yeah Yeah we thought about doing like a roommates's after dark?. I mean, even the g Aa face We would have to wait til we retire. Yeah.' right. retire. That's fair. That's fair. gives us all something we look forward to. Yeah.opefy hopefully a long time. Yeahf a long time. I don't know about him. He talks about retiring soon, I of one over time. G got a lot of work to do frranchise player your words someone What u what happened here Do you have a little scar? sccar? Yeah They're a good story Um it's not jumping off a couch story. I know, I was waiting for that.
