But do you know that I know that you only pass the brain that I am that I have passed the brain to eat . Keep on kissing babies and hugging fet girls . Keep the wild . Keep the wild undertaker You are a snibbling little suck up sellout full of suffering suck attached, son . It's me on Stan Law, son of . What it's me, Austin? It was me all along, Austin . And you just look at you by two joy! A new book a match with me, I'm sweet killers. Look at me. I'm a total packaggus. I will rip him apart. I'll piss now . Where too, Stephanie ? Working Steve, starring Scott Chaplin and Robert Garplus . Welcome everyone to working stiff. I'm your host, Robert Carpolis and wearing his prognosticator hat. It's Scott Chaplin. What up, what up? Dude, we have so many shows to preview this week. We're not even previewing all of 'em , but every company has a show this weekend . Oh wow, I did not know that. Apparently NXT has a show , TNA has slammersary. This ring of honor, ring of honor is a company, I guess. Yeah . WWE has blood money paper view , which would be very, very exciting . There's a lot of stuff going on. Are you watching all of it? Some of it ? I mean, dude, you know what I the thing I focused in on wrestling this week was I re watched the greatest shoot interview ever where it's Iron Sheic, new jack and honky tonk man. And my brain has just been lost in the fact that I don't think we'll ever get a shoot interview like that anymore from wrestlers because they no longer smoke crack . Well , I'm sure there's plenty of wrestlers out there smoking crack like now you watch ers interviews and it's like with Ariel Hal ani, it's with Chris Van Vlit, like I liked when you didn't see who it was and they were in a hotel and you know someone had a gun on them . Right. But well, that's I'm guessing the entirety of bully Ray's stuff this week is that he has a firearm pointed at him or at the very least like an ozemic with his own hand to his own head looking in the mirror every night the last bright twenty years of his life. What is that dude thinking ? Dude, the Josh Barnett thing was so funny, which we kind of talked about it on Patreon, but we didn't know clearly what was going on. He just kept going and going so easy to make fun of a guy like that because he's, you know, he's a he's a jerk off and it's kind of embarrassing . It's insane because bully ray based on just the success of the Dudley Boys in ECW and in WWE for the most part, could have just kind of faded away and traded on that glory , like kind of gone the route that JBL went that you almost forget how much of an absolute brick Bradshaw is because it's like, well now he's just kind of a lovable grumpy old guy. Well, yeah, and he also comes off like he's repenting a little, you know, I'm sure people in the nineties thought Kevin Nash was a prick and and there's so many cool things about Kevin Nash now. So it's, you know, usually you live and you learn and Bubba, you know, according to Joey Janelle, he's just sitting at DJ's in New Jersey buying girls drinks, which is fine. It's not fine. It's weird. It's like, you know, go sit in the dive bar adult men like you look like . He needs to just be at a bar with a dartboard and a pool table . See, maybe it doesn't phase me as much being in South Florida because you see that type of individual a lot? Yeah, well that's the Jersey Shore during the summer and that's where DJ's is. That's where Joe Janello claims he sits every summer and buys, you know, because yeah, it's like it becomes a college party area . Is this a place you've been to? Yeah when I was a kid absolutely yeah. But you know me I was sitting there hating on it the whole time, but yeah I definitely gone a couple times. Why can't you go and just have fun? No, a place like that now. It's very silly, you know ? No one don't matter how embarrassing young people are . You know, it's they're all very anxious trying to get laid and bombing and I always found it very funny people going out. No, I got that Louis Carol. Cemember the going out to get laid shirt. You remember that? Yes, talking about like young girls . That was always my feeling. Also, that Joe Pry came out before I was even of age . So I already had that joke in my head . So I was like sitting there acting like a forty five year old man because I was in love with Louis CK at the time, you know ? Well, as someone who's not yet forty five, but we're getting closer by the year . When I was away last week for work, I was around like our younger sales guys . And you know, we you all kind of go out for camaraderie and watch ing the twenty something year old kids who have like a little bit of money in their pocket , but they think like I'm gonna own this town. It's so funny to watch and you're right. You do kind of forget how ridiculous that life was where I'll look on and this is to continue the old man ness, like I'll go on Facebook primarily to see whose birthday it is because I'm at that age where I don't remember whose birthday it is or to see what's going on in like our Facebook group and there'll be like the memories tab . And I don't know how prevalent your Facebook memories pictures were , but it'll be like, oh, look at this cute picture of my kids as they're little or a family vacation . And then when you start to when I get back to like twenty years ago , when I was just starting law school like that is a swamp land of you don't know what's lying in there . No, yeah. Yeah, I totally, I totally get it. I totally get it. But yeah, I never, yeah, I don't know . I never got into like any party. I didn't party when I was a kid. I didn't start drinking until I was thirty, like I said, so like you were yeah, I would literally go out with my friends when I was twenty one. I was already stand up and I would just like sit around and think of reasons to hate everybody like commentary as opposed to now where your fucking mister Bright ray of sunshine Where like I open my text chain right now and it's literally just thirty five texts back and forth of Dan and Mike talking about how bad Supergirl might be even, though neither one of them have seen it. No, I think, oh, Mike didn't see it. Is that what he said? Mike hasn't Dan hasn't seen it, Mike hasn't seen it. But Dan's whole thing was like I heard I heard it back there's always like tales of thea Se with Dan. Oh , Dan discuss does that with about friends too. He believes in everything because he has to. He has to believe the worst in everything , you know , he has to. What's what's so funny and I'm gonna if I get heat with Dan , so be it. But have you watched the show Widows Bay ? No, no, no. So he had said that a while ago he went out on an audition actually, got I a callback for the Steven Root character on Widows Bay who's kind of like the old town cremuden and every time I watch it, I just picture Dan in that role and it makes me laugh so much . And like he would have this would it this would have been perfect for him . Oh and it's why wrestling like he would have been the guy who would have been like I swear there's two ultimate warriors . If you look at the footage, one hundred definitely dead and this that like this is definitely the guy . Oh yeah, one hundred percent. Yeah, there's comics that like I super respect and then they actually believe in like the did you see the picture of Tupac hanging out in Cuba from two thousand two? And it's like, what are we talking about? Okay, but also that's our fault for forgetting that like some comics are just kind of dumb guys who are funny . And like there were some people who were comics because they were really witty and insightful . then And they were the kids in elementary school who were like, I'm gonna mix up all the food on my plate, pour chocolate milk on it and eat it. So y'all laugh at me. Oh, one hundred percent . So you kind of have to take everything with a grain of salt. Not everybody was Mortstahl . Which is the only wrestling podcast where you're going to get that kind of that sort of a reference. That's what that dressed like Mortsaw and he ruled hard, man. I actually let him borrow like a few George Carlin DVDs and then he died . Did you get him back? Well, so then I went to the funeral. I was in like in high school and sorry for your widow I'm talking to is like his widow. I'm like I'm so sorry for your lawsuit. I'm like sixteen or so like I'm so sorry dad I'm like , Act Iually let, him borrow a few of my DVDs and she was like, oh, do you want them back? And I was like, no, no . You look in the coffin and it's what's in his hands . He's just buried with the Carlin seven words, you can't say. Right, right . So we've got speaking of forbidden things, we've got a forbidden door to open and a night of champions to preview . Are we going to talk about slammers fuck no? I feel like well I'll say this about slam aniversary. Yeah, it seems like TNA is like gonna be sold to somebody. It's not it's not going to be Tony Khan or WWE don't think. I mean, yeah, it might be WWE, but anyway , it looks like this is actually like it's kind of over . Like they actually need to get rid of it because they're in so much debt is right, Robert. Yeah, so they have a the thing is they have a they have apparently a ton of toxic debt. And we went into this kind of a little more in depth on the Patreon, but they carry a lot of debt and the guy and the owner of TNA through Anthem basically says like I'm willing to sell the company for forty million dollars. And someone asked Tony Con during his press conference like would you cons, ider buying TNAs? Like not at forty million dollars ? Yeah the value in the company itself is not there. It's the old thing Pritchard used to talk about this all the time there were the fullers would do this all the time where they would sell the same territory like twenty times . They sell it to some Schmuck who realizes all you're buying is just air . You're buying some rings and that's about it. And then the guy goes bankrupt and then they swoop back in, they get it back and then they polish it up and then they resell it . TNA , I'm looking at the card that they have for this for this slam anniversary show . It's a very solid, very entertaining, very watchable card for the most part , but could not tell you some of these stories. Like the main you know what the main event of the show is Santana defending his title against Nick Nemeth . That's a great match right there. That is, that is, yeah. Like, that'll be a lot of fun. Age amazing red is coming back. I was going to say amazing red. Amazing Red is in an ultimate X match with Cedric Alexander , Leon Slater, Frankie Cazarian , Frank Weekend. The guy who played Giovanni Vinci in WWE, Casey Navarro who's been around for a while and then whoever that Mr. Elegance dude is that that's part of Dana Brooks group , like to even take that guy out of it . That's a really fun ultimate X match . Yeah, that's I mean and Ultimate X is such a fun match Then you got the Hardy's versus the righteous versus Brian Myers and Bear Bronson . Oh , okay. Good it's a good solid crew of people . But then you see like it's Eddie Edwards versus Moose and I and I like Moose. I've worked with Moose and Ice Good like that's a fine match, but I feel like that's a match that's happened in TNA a thousand times . Right. But it is slam annivers, ary maybe they can like harp on their history and all that shit Yeah, it's just it's just I wonder if if there's like a sign of, you know, and it might be like a Brock Lesnar retirement, but if at the end of the show, they kind of hint at like , hey, this shit is ending. You know, like this is the last anniversary. You know, no, they're going to hire Road Dog. That seems to be the thing. Right to bring Rodog in and Rodog to take over creative. And you know, it's I'm sad to see Dreamer go from TNA. Tommy and I are we've been friends for over twenty years . So it definitely sucks on a personal level. You never want a friend of yours to lose a job, but when Road Dog was booking SmackDown for the last several months , we were pretty okay with that show . It was a very solid watchable three hour TV show . It wasn't blow your hair back. This is the greatest thing we've ever seen, but we were always kind of saying like, all right, Raw's pretty dumb, but SmackDown's not terrible and it's at least logical. And if you look if you give these guys a good crew , you can book some logical television. I just think you literally have to film it different. You have to like you have to literally you just have to do something. You have to go like underground with it. We there's too much wrestling that looks just like that. Yeah, no, I watched Dynamite . Exactly. Did you hear the Chris Anvil interview with Hayman . Oh yeah, oh my god, I mean yeah, that could be my high spot. What I thought was how I always described AEW. What I thought was Robin Damn. It's Robin Jerry Lynn. Yeah . What I thought was so funny was when he was talking about how to be successful as a booker, he's like, You can't just have a TV show that's just good, match, good, match, good, match, good match. And then I watched Dynamite and it felt like Tony Khan was like, I'll show you . Right. I will say, man, I really do enjoy their backstage segments, but I do not enjoy their in ring segments. But I think their backstage stuff has gotten a lot better over like this entire year and it connects everything and I don't know, it just feels real sometimes and then they're in ring promos unless it's like a top tier guy . It's just very stale. Like very there was that swerve Osprey one from like two weeks ago . Right, right, which I think yeah, I think I liked some of Osprey's so I think Osprey had under him but it just went too long it like got lost in it.ough I Th will say listen to the episode you did with Dom and really pissed that I miss a mailbag episode. That would have been we got to do one. We gotta do one . And love that. One of the questions I got asked was like, what's like a hot take I believe in that you think I'm wrong about? And it made me laugh where you're like, Oh Roberts never the kind of guy who's like, oh yeah, Jericho should be world champion or a guy like his size . Right, right. It's very because that is the opposite of every way that I've always thought about wrestling. Really ? Yes. Even when I was there, like I was , there was guys who I was really interested in. Like I thought Brian Kendrick was a dude that we should have been pushing a hell of a lot more. I was so good. A lot to them. They're like, No, you got to like, it was literally London was my guy. Loved Paul London, just Paul London was weird. Oh, right. I forgot. He's different . I forgot he's different. Yeah, yeah. He's just he's just a different dude in Jane. He acts like a little alien, right? Yeah . He cause he was a guy who did not Right . Oh dude. When he smiled when the week before Benoit died when the pins got blowing up Yeah, I think that's that's a, you know, that's part of who his his persona was , but part of it was just he was just like a goofy out there guy in a locker room of back when they were like men . Sure, sure . Oh, right when they had like slow score and stuff. That was like peak wrestler scour. Yeah . Yeah, that was that was peak wrestler's court. That was peak , here's JBL and Bob Holly . Go make jokes to those guys and see how they handle it. Right. Go someone go beat up Renee Du Pris . I mean that I'm fine with . You know, I'm shocked Renee DuPris didn't do like, but again it's because there really was nowhere else to go . I'm shocked where Nadu Pre didn't do anything after WWE. I like he was a name for a second, you know? I think we all kind of know his name . I think people know his name. I don't think that there was a ton of demand to see him elsewhere . Right. I guess so . And you know, it's also it's really hard to I guess it's not hard. It's just so many people do it the same, but that like, I'm a foreigner gimmick. So many people just hit the same beat. They never act like a, you know , I don't know. It's all very like, I'll just wave the flag and it's like , you could do more. This could be more creative. It doesn't have to be like what it's always been. Well, that was the most of what he was asked to do, but at the same time, he was , I want to say like twenty two, like he was young . He was he was super young , just had a great physique, great look to him, but wasn't really overly refined . And that was the same time he was partnered with Sylvan . And Sylvan was a big, we were told, oh, Pat Patterson feels like we need to push Sylvan a whole lot. Like put that guy on TV . I'm like okay using his using his powers for good . So we'll use our powers here to see into the future to be the oracle. But the point that I was going to make on the the Heyman podcast on top of just kind of calling out AEW, which was so funny was him getting into what almost happened with TNA and what his vision for what that company would have been and what the vision was for what ECW was going to be. And it always makes me sad because I was there at that time. It's like we heard all this and saw where it was going to go and then watched it kind of get derail ed . And I'd love to see a world where Paul kind of had total creative control. And then Cody was on your boy Ariel Hawani show and he basically said, yeah, someday I'd love to be in charge of a creative situation for a company . Oh wow, okay, Cody. I mean, yeah, that kind of felt like it the whole time. I mean , one, he's, you know, a big reason AW started. And if you remember, like in the early period, they were actually doing backstage work and were like actively trying to build a company . And when he shows up in WWE, it's like it's very obvious he loves Paul Laveck and he's like very or if he doesn't love him, he's very interested in learning everything he can from him Let me ask you this controversial question here . It's clear that there was the split with Cody Kenny in the books and then Cody winds up leaving . Yeah. Looking at where we are now. I also don't I don't necessarily think that's a I mean, because they still shout each other out all. So I don't think it was I think it was a business decision . I think professionally they came to a split in the road. Looking at where we are now Should Tony have just stuck with Cody and gotten rid of Kenny in the bucks? I say that because Kenny physically never really fully recovered after that split. Like you didn't get a lot of long stretches with Kenny Omega after the fact, the bucks have not exactly been top of the card universally beloved ticket movers within that organization, whereas Cody would have been a guy who you probably could have put him as world champion and knowing that he wants to eventually be on the creative team could have been a front office executive and he could have been the AA H for the next thirty years I mean, maybe it would be good for Cody because he'd have the ability to yeah own a company quicker as opposed to I don't think he's ever going to own WWE, you know , but no, look, Kenny and the bucks put on bangers. I mean, every week the bucks put on bangers that you know, if they let go of the bucks and Kenny, they would end up in WWE probably at some point maybe, right? And you're not gonna I'm telling you if they ever go there , that company's gonna try to embarrass them because how dare you start another company? You know, Cody left and went to them and triple H is his favorite wrestler ever. Like Cody's a little stupid . And what I mean by that is if you remember that last year of Cody and AW , everyone was booing the shit out of him. And not only were they booing the shit out of him, every creative idea he had that last year was terrible. I mean, every guy he tried to push was like a family friend that wouldn't even have been on WCW in ninety one, you know, like it was all very bad. And so no, I mean, I think I think the best thing that happened is Cody went to WWE because he's it's kind of fading, but he really felt like they're John Cena for like two years to three years, you know? That's that's huge . I think he didn't. I think we sometimes forget certain folks, their reign at the top was not as long as we think it was. I know everyone always thinks of like how little Austin was actually on top , but realistically like, how little the rock was actually on top before he left hollow . Well, right even before fans got bored. Like that's the thing. Fans get bored. And we see it with everybody and fans get bored. Guys do not necessarily stay on top forever, but what's wild is when you start realizing we're coming up on twenty years of like since CMP debuted in WWE and you think back to when you like whoever's listening to this, like start like think back to your fandom and what happened twenty years prior . It is crazy to think about. No, it's wild. You know, absolutely insane. Speaking of punk before we get into predictions, did you did you see he's he's returning on the smackdown? I don't know. It's like seventeen july tenth of that was going to be all about that was my prediction stuff here. So it bleeds in nicely. So we may as well start with Night of Champions. Yeah, let's do it then Because it is Cody and Gunther and Sammy and I go, all right , what are they going to do for summer Slam? And then I was like, oh, no matter who wins this, they're facing plunket Summer Slam . Absolutely. Yeah. So you're getting one of two things. Either Cody beats Sami and Goonther by pinning Sammy so that Goonther is not part of the decision and then Cody comes out on SmackDown and does his easy to find hard to beat and then here comes Punk and he's like , all right, I found you. Let's see if I can beat you. And then you've got your match for Summer Slam. The other option is Goonther Pins Sam and because of some bullshit that Cody did or that Sammy did to Cody and then like fucked over Cody's chance of winning and then Sammy gets laid out by Gunther and then it just turns into Cody and Sam amyaf in De match at Summer Slam and Gunther versus Punk . You know, I don't hate Gunther versus Punk at Summer Slam. I don't. I definitely know it's not the next idea, which is Sammy wins because I do not think we were getting Sami versus Punk Somers . Not at a because it's a stadium show where they have to sell tickets and we saw that panic from Mania when they were like, Oh shit, we have a giant stadium in two nights. We got to put the biggest names out there, fuck our storylines, just we want to see him punk on a poster . I think if it's punk versus Goonther , that is a main event and then it's Sammy versus Cody , which is a strong upper mid card match. And then eventually you can get to Cody chasing for the title. I mean, yeah, I hear you, but I just think there is so much money in punk first code . There is, but then the question becomes, hey, yeah, that match definitely makes sense , but But what do you do with Goonther at Summer Slam ? Right. It's all it's also a mani match, man. Sometimes you just got to go, hey, is that a maniamatch? Unless unless Cody really needs to fight somebody else, which he does not. He does not need to f ight Roman again or Seth or so yeah, Cody Punket Mania maybe. Well, and it's also which also it's Saudi Mania . Yeah, but okay , that's true too. Because Saudi Mania, the thing about punk versus Cody is if the if the hope is to try to keep both of them somewhat babyface, the Saudi audience is just like , we're happy to see anybody. We're going to cheer both these guys and they're going to get the response that they want . If this match takes place in Minnesota , I think that that crowd's going to be very pro punk and boo the shit out of Cody . Sure, sure. But now also we got to remember the whole idea of punk moving over to SmackDown seems to be to face Cody . Now yeah, they could move him over a year before they finally get to it and they want that slow build. But in my head, it's like, oh, they moved them over so they can do this. But if you do it, the other here's the thing, you could go with punk versus Cody at Summerslam and then have like Randy return and cost you know somebody that match or Drew return and cost somebody to that match but, you still have but then you have Goonther just floating out in nothingness . And I think that that a year ago the dude was starting this run of retiring Goldberg and AJ and Sen and beating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania . And then since he's been on SmackDown, he's basically lost to Cody twice if he loses a third time , he there's no way you can go fude with Fin n Baller . Yeah. Well, I think yeah, and the whole the whole retiring Cina and Goldberg and AJ you really there is a great storyline for Seam Punk to be fighting Gunther to anyone who's a casual and only watch those retirement matches, you know . You don't put Sammy in this match unless he's going to unless he's going to build to something further . I And think that that something further is Sammy finally just going full on heel and attacking Cody . Right, right. That's where it's that's where it's leading. Yeah. And you can't right, but you can't do Sami and Cody at Summer Slam for the title . It's good enough as a personal story that can be an upper mid card match . It's another good match on a poster. It's not your signature match . Yeah, yeah, man. You might be right. Gunther might be winning in Saudi. I kind of feel like Gunther can win by pinning Sami where Sammy like, you know, because I think this is a triple threat. I believe that means there's no disqualification. Right, right. So maybe Sammy belt shots Cody or something like that. I don't know. I love that . Tiffany Stratton Jade Cargill for the women's US title , I don't know how injured Rya is , and it feels like we're building to a Charlotte Jade feud based on what happened on like SmackDown a week ago . So So do you really need Jade to be the women's US champion and go fight Charlotte ? No . So then it kind of sounds like Tiffany keeps this title until Blake M onroe beats her ? Right. And it's the battle of like, you know, the pretty blondes, right? Like the Barbies for sure. Yeah. Did you see the Tiffany clip this week where she's opening up a high spot of the week? Okay Oh,. okay, we'll get to it then. Yes. Continue. Steel cage match, Bron Breaker versus Seth Rollins . I thought Night of Champions, like everything is like titles on the line. And instead we, just get this match . You know, I'm not saying anything particularly revelatory here, but I'm guessing that we're gonna see Bronson Reed return and jump off the top of the cage and smush sess ion. Oh, you'd think so. Why else would you do this match ? Just because you need some match, you know, 'cause I don't know. Exactly. Well put. Wait, wait, wait, no, but that's how we got hurt. So he isn't how he got hurt to make him do that on his return would be hilarious and then he gets hurt again be even funny. Yeah, come on, that's crazy. I'm sure they go, hey, you can't ever do that again We'll see. Maybe no maybe, it's like you got to get back on the bike . You got you got to get back on the on the on the tricycle . Right, right . I think it I just don't understand where they go with these guys right now. My pitch by the way would be after this is like all said and done, just move the vision to SmackDown . Yeah, for real. I think here's how I see it ending. You do some like Bobby Lashley umaga shit because it's Bron , you know, have him go for a spear and Seck moves out of the way and literally the whole side of the cage comes down and Bron falls , you know, hits the ground . I mean the reality is if you move these guys over to SmackDown and if you move the vision over to SmackDown , you you've got Bronbreaker who can go after Cody or Punk for the title, which at one point was a plan that they were going to go with Braun Breaker and Punk for a longer program . So you can do that story on SmackDown. You've got Austin Theory and Logan Paul who can go against and like if you put Austin Theory and Bronson Reed together to go after priest and truth, you're fine and lo gan Paul and Trick Williams . There you go. That's that's six months of TV right there and because I will say Ron Roman from last year was it was disappointing only because no one has made bronze chine in a year, it feels like. And they've tried. They've tried. And he's done really cool things , but like with the existence of an Oba I don't know, he just he 's not hitting as hard. Like it felt like this time last year we were like, yo, he could be world champion in a year and a half and now we're like I'll hope the IST champ in October . He was hurt. He was happy. Right, right a few times, right ? And the entirety of the vision kind of always winds up being snake bit, but I think as long as the vision is on the same brand as Seth Rollins, they're going to keep having a few ofet Bhes Rollins and as long as they're on the same brand as this new bloodline, they're going to feel like the lesser stable . So just move them to SmackDown. There's plenty of guys for them to go work with over on SmackDown and the show will be just fine . Yeah, I agree. Trick s draft back. Speaking of SmackDown, Trick Williams versus Ricky Saints for the US title. There's no way Trick's losing this thing, right? No, man. It's just, you know, yeah, I think Ricky is just a guy who's like he's so willing to go out, you know, he's like a mini code road. So he's like, I got to be in Saudi like they know he loved to do it. They're just like, all right, let's trick beat them. You know, they've had a match in NXT before, I believe. So it's just like yeah, let them repeat this. Obviously trick wins . Eo Skyliv Morgan for the Queen of the Ring It's got to be it's got to be EO and then you do the rematch I mean I was gonna say it I was gonna say it's I mean ye,ah Queen , you know , yeah, 'cause queen live, I mean, if you're gonna stick with that, which they really haven't done, right over the last few years where the person like wears a crown for a while. Right . Because if this is actually like the hardest one to predict because you can go both ways Queen Liv Well here's the thing because if Lib Morgan wins, they're going to do Lib Morgan versus Rhea Ripley that's what she basically said. She's like, if I win, I'm going to go after the SmackDown title and I'm going to be Liv Two Belts But I don't number one, I don't know if Ria is necessarily healthy . And number two , you then not only take away a second title from a defense, you leave Io in a position where she's left off another big card and I think they left her off mania . So it feels like the make good is she wins Queen of the Ring here and then she's going to go challenge live again at Summer Slam and maybe at SummerSlam , you know, Roxanne accidentally costs live shot. Like she costs her the belt Yeah, I mean, I could actually see that going with like a queen type of gimmick with Io where th sheough does wear a crown backstage and they can have fun little segments with her. So yeah, I'm going to let's go with Io sure . Jay Uso Obafemi I still maintain Obina ws Brock attacks Oba after the fact, we get two Oba Feminine matches and then it's the tension of Jayuso letting down the tribal chief as Jacob Fatsu gets more power . Right. And then you get Oba beating Brock the first night at Summer Slam and Roman the second night at Summer Slam being the most dominant wrestler of all time type of thing. Yeah. And then when he wanted yeah, and then when he beats Roman at Summer Slam , it's then Jayuso and Jacob Fatu both trying to be the guy to topple Oba and then eventually you get to James two versus Oba and you still got solo in the mix who's going to wind up being part of this bloodline thing . Yeah, yeah. I like all of that. And yeah, obviously Oba has to win . I just feel like if you don't put the if you don't let Oba win the king of the ring crown here , people are going to look back and be like, that is a huge miss all for the sake of a small storyline. Yeah, and now the way he could lose is instead of after it 's be, you know, it's Brock interference in the match, you know, and then but then, you know, and then you have like a guy eating with like a burger king crown on. That's kind of fun . I guess. Like and then maybe the tension of Roman. I don't even know, maybe or because he's the king, he's like kind of acting like it's his ulafala and it's like no it's not like that and you know Jacob's mad that he's the king and I don't answer the kings and that could be a thing too but it's yeah I think I think Ober us needs to win always stadium stadium show stadium show . If Jay USO wins king of the ring, he's either going to challenge Cody or Gunther or is going to challenge Roman and that even at the height of Jay uso being the yeat guy , that was not a top main event at WrestleMania. That was the opening match during one of the nights of mania . Wow. Doesn't sell a lot of tickets. Like it's just that's the nature of it right. You.'re You got to sell tickets, man. Yeah, you're right. Speaking of selling tickets, we got forbidden door , which is taking place in San Jose , California . So Melts are in the front row ? Oh yeah, a little to the side second row . Yeah, where he doesn't have to maintain eye contact . There are pre show matches. I think we can skip the pre show matches for the sake of time if that's okay with you You have strong thoughts on the fact that I totally forgot that Meghan Bane and Lena Cross are the women's tag champions. No, I forgot to, brother. We got the AW World Tag Team Titles , Cope and Cage versus The Dogs, Dave Finan Mark Connors . Probably this is like the only max I'm not hyped about actually . I mean it'll be fine . It's not going to be a great wrestling match by instructions of the imagination, but it'll be fine . Do you see that FTR said that they're like stepping away for a little while and taking some time . Yeah, but it's so interesting to say before all in . I assume that this was all storyline bullshit . I wonder that is exactly. I still think for all in London as long as you have Edge and Christian viable , you got to go TLC . So there's no reason for them to lose the tag titles here. I think they beat the young guys and we eventually get to Edge and Christian or sorry coping Christian versus the young bucks versus new day versus FTR . Right, right. And then but also you do have to because I think you're going to have two tag matches that night . You do have to spread some of them out, but maybe that's a motor city machine gun match if they end up. Well yeah there's the I forgot about the machine guns too well we got a yeah but that's like a lot of tag teams in a match so we got well we got a three way tag match here it's the young Bucks versus El Sky Team, which is Mistiko and Maskera Dorada versus the Unbound Co which is Shingo Takagi and Titan Any reason to beat the bucks here? Can you hear me? Yeah . I can hear you. I was saying there's no there's no reason to beat the buck. Now you're breaking up . Old school Chaplin bad signal. Gotta love it. I'm going to assume that there's no reason to necessarily beat the young bucks here even in a forbidden door payer view. I think the pretense of pretending that Tony Conn is doing these out of the goodness of his heart to make all these other companies succeed has kind of gone away . So the buck as baby faces getting a strong tag win makes a lot of sense . Next up, you got the oh wait, I'm here though and I need to talk about this match Oh yeah sorry one this match is going to be unbelievable man Takagi Chingo Takagi is so good Titan is great and then Mistiko and Mascara Dador a Who in a three way with the bucks who make everybody look like a million bucks? Obviously , you know, the young bucks are going to win, but also I think Sky Team is on the ring of honors show the ROH tag titles tonight. And I think they'll they'll win those titles. So yeah, this is this is cool shit. But yeah, I do not think I do not I mean , no, I do not think Shinda and Titan win this one though . Yeah, no, I think there's no reason there's no reason for the bucks to lose here . Get a little bit of strength for them. We got Shoto Umino versus Pock for the IWGP global heavyweight championship . Yeah, Shoto is obviously beating him, but it's it's going to be really a, really fun match to see . This is like one of the only, you know , real forbidden door type matches, you know ? It does feel like a little bit of a fruit en door. The other one is Fecla versus Starlight Kid for the AW Women's World Championship . There's no reason for Thecla to lose this title here going into all in . No, no, no, of course not. But I do think we're going to get a really , really cool women's match like a style that we really never really see over here. So I'm kind of pumped for that. Moxley versus Bandido . I mean, dude, in my world , Bandito wins everything , but you got to have Moxley be the mentor to a guy who's going to be world champion and so he can't really be losing. Yeah , yeah . That that's kind of where I where my thought was . Next up is Mercedes Monet versus Mayo World . Yeah, I mean Mercedes this is for the women's this is for the women's Owen Heart Final . Right, right. And apparently neither of them were supposed to be in the finals and then there was injuries to a bunch of women or potential pregnancies with another . And yeah, this is the match we're getting. I'm assuming Mercedes wins and she is queen the queen of the Ring. Oh my gosh. She's the wow we're getting the tournament that you know, they feel like the same thing King of the R ing and I won hardcup. But yeah, so definitely definitely Mercedes. Which did she win last year? No, yeah. No, wasn't it Willow last year? Right. Willow last. So she's never won, right? Because then Britt one before that? Who the hell is Brit? Brit Baker? Never heard of her. I would have remembered. By the way, if you want just proof positive that Brit Baker is like never, ever, ever coming back , you look at the number of people who got knocked out of this Owen Heart tournament and Britt has not once come up as possibly being in it . Yeah. And it's kind of funny because he lies on media calls. just He' stllraight up be like , oh yeah, she, you know , like, oh, they asked about injuries and women being gone and then they listed all the women. And he was like, all of them, you know, their timelines are different for returning. It's like he can never say like, yeah, I'm not using her . Maybe she's giving him free dental care ? Yeah, I mean maybe maybe there's just it sounds like there's a secret and I don't mean like a evil secret . I mean, like it sounds like she told him, hey, I'm fucking done. And he was like, all right, I'll pay you. I don't know. It just sounds like she's done. Sounds like they agreed she's done. And then it feels like also not talk about it. Yeah, he never goes out of his way to say anything divisive or derogatory about Britain. And he's always like, well, he's a hanging out. I remember when he used to like party with everybody that first two years ? Did you watch the NFL draft this year ? Wait no why ? So the NFL draft was in Pittsburgh and obviously Tony's an owner so he's got a lot of sway in the Pittsburgh Steeler fan section right in the front was Brit Baker Wearing an NWO shirt That's amazing. Which was hilarious . Speaking of hilarious , it's the annual why is Zack Saber Jr not an AW conversation because we got Kenny Omega versus Zack Saber Jr . This is for nothing . No, no for nothing. Well, it's it's so it's so Kenny can win and then fight MJF at redemption . No , it's so Kenny can win and then you know, eventually get to him versus Moxley at All In . I mean, that's fine, but Redemption is before All In and he's definitely Ethan. Yeah, we'll get to redemption . I heard redemption is going to be a shocking paper view. That's what I heard . I don't know what the fuck that means. I'm assuming it means like that's when like the new day and those guys can show up or something Every paper view they do is shocking when it's five and a half hour s in and then they're like, we've got three more messages to go. You're like, I can't believe this is still happening . Kenny and Kenny and Saber is going to be interesting because you know, obviously they can have an absolute banger, but it I 'm interested to see how much groundwork he's going to do. You know, he's he doesn't do like Danielson groundwork and you know, Danielson and Zack Saber was amazing. So I am interested to see what this looks like. Zack Saber Jr. was kind of the poster child for Forbidden Door. He's like the guy like every year they need to bring somebody in . It's well, let's just use him kind of like when WW used to go to like London and all of a sudden William Regal's in a main event . Oh yeah, oh yeah, I always used to love that . That was always fun. Osprey swerve , men's all in Owen Hupp final. There's no way that this isn't going to be Osprey, right ? It's definitely Osprey. Yeah, for it to not be Osprey Osprey would be just a major, major shock. Like for them to not go with Osprey, it would be purely just like Vince Russo it would be proud . Yeah, it would actually be like, oh, I like blowing things up. It would be pretty ridiculous to do. Now I will say you could get a swerve with swerve. Like someone could attack swerve, maybe I don't know you still got I don't need a hang in swerve match, but honestly I always could use one though , but Henryman hasn't been around for quite some time. So maybe we get a return during this. I don't know, but yeah, Osprey wins in an awesome match. I think the match will be great. Yeah, and it's like where do you necessarily go with Swerve after this? Your main event , Maxwell, Jacob Friedman, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuucha, Okata and And versus Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O'Reilly, Kanoske Tech and Darby Allen in a steel cage match where if Mark Briscoe's team wins, he gets a title shot against M J F . It kind of feels like the only finish for this is Andre turns on MJF and Mark Briscoe pins max for the title shot . Well, right. I mean, and that's and we didn't even talk about dynamite. So I'll just I'll make it my high spot and we'll get to it. But one of the things I really loved about the end of it is they kind of let you know how interested like how many beefs were in this match and everybody on the good on Brisco's team, they are not they're all on the same page. They're just feuding with guys on the other side . Everybody on MJF team is fighting with each other . Yeah . So yeah, it's pretty yeah, pretty great. And I love the fact that it is clear coming out of this match how many all in matches you could get from it, which is the thing that you always love to see in wrestling. It's like we have not gotten the full proper Darby versus Kevin Knight one on one revenge match . We have not gotten an Okada Tekhta rematch. So I feel like we're going to get 's the Fletcher. I was saying and then there's the Kyle Fletcher of it all where he's gonna probably need to be factored in to take on one or two of those guys . So I think that's particularly interesting, but at the same time, it's a payer review main event with Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Straw . So let's temper expectations , just a hair. Well, now hold on though because it they go hard in matches. They do. So yes, but what I mean is this is you got to remember this is a steel cage match and if it's like the steel cage they did last year it's it's like it you know it goes way past the ring. They got a lot of space outside the ring . And so I think this could be just I mean, it's going to be it's going to be bonkers and I do not know what Darby's going to do. Pat a dumb question , why would they not do one that they did with like the double ring ? What was which one is that one anarchy in the anarchy in the arena? The one where they always had a double cage. It was a it was a cage with a double ring. It's one of their things. Maybe it's anarchy in the It's one of those things. Like, well, no, that's like a it's war games, but they can't call it war games . It's the thing . Yeah, they do because to do one single ring with twelve guys is going to be clunky. Well, that's why I'm saying it's why I mean, they did it last year and it worked out really well. They it's just the space is so huge. I mean, Ring of Honor used to do it sometimes. There was like that weird looking cage and it was just so the guys could , you know, they needed to jump out of the ring . And so they needed space. Yeah, but we'll see. I mean, it'll be interesting. I think look, both companies are clearly setting the table for their big end of summer pay per view spectacular . And if AW does the right thing , you're going to get MJF will Osprey, which makes a hell of a lot of sense. I guess Mercedes in Thecla is a women's title match that'll be good Oh for sure, for sure and some really personal stories that they can pay . Yeah, but you also got to remember sometimes it all in like they'll just do like your favorite wrestlers in a trio when he should be in the singles . So we'll see . We will we will definitely see see high spot low spot . Yeah, sure. My high spot is definitely Dynamite . Osprey versus ELP . Swear versus Danny Garcia was fantastic. And then you're surprised that ELP is not on forbidden door . Yeah, I mean, especially because he's around like you spotlight this guy . Hey, he doesn't get the job done against Osprey, but maybe there's like an man or something like that where this guy winds up in this match . Yeah, I mean for sure, especially because there's been so many visa issues this like time around. I mean, I'm trying to think of who else was Dave Kid was supposed to be involved. He's supposed to be a big part of it. I think he's injured, isn't he? Yeah, he's hurt. Oh, is he hurt? I thought it was a visa issue . Well, I know Beast Mortos isn't there for a visa issue . Oh, is that why the barrister Beast Mortos is not available . But yeah dynamite I just oh and I got to say Tech to Ricochet was just an unreal main event. I couldn't believe the shit they were doing. So definitely the amount of times the referee didn't count three. It was definitely an unreal matt Main event and then low spot . I don't know. Every time I like that bubba stuff was, but it's n't really, it was funny, you know you know , so I really don't have a low spot I don't think this week. I mean unless some unless you give me something good I'm going to look up my low spot my low spots going to be that Tiffany Stratton thing. So there's a video of Tiffany Stratton doing like an hot spot. Well, it's I have an actual high spot, but this is why it's a low spot. It's a low spot in the sense that it was Tiffany Stratton doing like an unboxing of cards and she's reading off the names and she calls Sergeant slaughter SGT slaughter and then just openly says Viscera, I don't know who that is . And the reason why that kind of surprised me is is one of the points Paul Hayman made on the Chris Van Vlik Show was , you know, I would love to be head of creative, but the reality is there is no head of creative. Paul Leck is chief content officer, which means his role is to control all of the content, how everybody's positioned, what is out there in the ecosystem . And the fact that this footage got out and it doesn't make Tiffany Stratton seem charming or funny or unique. It makes it seem like she's ignorant to the product with which she competes in. And I understand that for a lot of people, yeah, this is your job . You don't need to know every in and out. But WWE should be able to control what goes out there in content that they are producing to not make their talent seem ignorant to the history of it. It'd be like, you know, the supergirl or Spider Man is coming out in a couple weeks. And if they did an interview with Zendaya and she's like, I have no clue what the punisher is like put that shit out there. I will say though the older I get, I actually I do kind of find it like endearing I go yeah you don't need to know you know the other thing is like she called him Okay so ye,ah she called, Sergeantau Sghterl SG T slaughter. Like it's also funny that she doesn't know that SGT stands for sergeant. Like she seems dumb. Well, well she's a kid I think they're just like kids and I don't, you know, yeah, but like to me it's always lately , you know, now that I'm thirty five, it's just it's very I find stuff like that kind of cute. Even like when dudes do it, I'm just like, oh, y'all know that you never seen that. Like, oh wow, that's that's interesting. And I understand it's like her craft or whatever, but dude, I mean, that was like for ty years ago now sergeant slaughter. But he was he is still in there . I understand if you, you know, she goes, I don't I don't know Stone Cold or whatever or like I've never even heard of DX. It's like, that's kind of weird because like that's around you. That's constantly being presented in the business. But like, no one's talking about VISA anymore. That's that's the company's fault. I think my point is I don't expect all the folks behind the scenes to know every single person who's been there or even a sergeant slaughter, even though the Sergeant Slaughter worked for the company backstage for a number of decades, but to publicly have someone who's a champion for you who's basically anytime they're on those things, they're in character in a lot of ways to go out and openly be like, oh this person's a Hall of Fame or former WW champion. I don't know who this person is . It's not a great look . And that's something that like Hunter is usually better at controlling . My high spot came from Raw on Monday night and it was the opening of Monday Night Raw, which was the Oba Femi promo with Jay Uso. Jay Uso still does his Will Smith, Uncle Phil, you know, how come he don't love me voice, which annoys the fuck out of me. But I just think Oba Femi's presence and the way that he speak s in these promos is so fantastic that the dude just feels like a different kind of star than we have seen of late. And there is an authenticity to him that we don't necessarily get with a lot of the other folks in the in the wrestling world . Right. And his pacing is so much slower than most guys that it's like I don't think he's going to ever fuck up a prom o because he takes his time in a way that it doesn't sound like he's thinking of what the next thing to say is it's just like he's just so confident. Yeah, I don't think he's gonna mess up a promo. No, I don't think I don't think he will. Speaking of things that we won't mess up , I am leaving you all in the capable hands of Scott Chaplin for the next several days as I will be away for work . So Scotty will have you covered for the Patreon bring down yeah, you and Dom will break down all week it's going to be you and Dom all week. It's going to be glorious. You guys will break down ight Kn of Champ ions and forbidden door and then you'll be back on the main feed with him for the fourth of July edition of Working Stiff . I will be back probably by next weekend. I'll have something up where I'll just kind of do a recap on my own of everything that happens in the week of wrestling that I miss since it's the biggest wrestling like payer view week of the year and I'm going to be away , but fear not because no matter where we are or what we're doing, there's one thing that remains true. And what is that, Scott?
