So it doesn't mean anything. In five minutes you'll be cursing it. I've I've just got to why can't I bring what's on the range onto the course? What happens, what changes? In that. He's got in training energy. Yeah, no, I hate that. Once he crosses the white lines, we can't see the we don't see the talent. That's why I am at the minute. So um can't start without mentioning Tragedy I you'd have to say what's going on at Liverpool and on such an An amazing day for them and and then that happens. It's so it's It's so it's so sad. It it's all it's all still being investigated. Um at the moment there. But obviously it's yeah, extremely sad and really heartbreaking for the people that did go out and in such a day of celebration and obviously really scary. And now the impact of that will have Ramifications for all the all teams that want to celebrate success moving forward. And that that's, you know, such a such a scary, heartbreaking thing for all other fans and and clubs. And uh yeah, obviously our thoughts go out to everyone that was there. Everyone that's r recovering from the incident as well. From Working Title, producers of Bridget Jones and Love Actually. I'm looking for the show called Emily. Oh, how'd you find her? Comes the truly feel good British rom-com that's being called a five-star instant classic. Tell me if you didn't have the school email, what message every end of it. Hailed as hilarious and original. Hey and It's Notting Hill for a new generation. I don't think I was wrong numbered. She didn't right number you, did she? Finding Emily. Only in cinema's May 22nd. Book tickets now. I think we should start with um Arsenal winning the Champion League because it is one club. So you've You know, I've tried to preach this to people all the time. I feel like I've been to a music festival. I'm still in recovery mode. Well this is it, you two were both there. Yeah. I've I had mega fo All weekends. We're going next year. And I have to say, props to UAFA because we've had Bao and Lisbon back to back women's Champions League final locations and I can't think of better spots for the women's champions league. I went to I went to That was the one I went to class. Next year we've got Oslo. So Norwegians start preparing now because you've got big you've got big boots to fill after two amazing Amazing finals. 'Cause obviously I was there and Alex Scott was there, y you know, a lot of lot of the players there and Lot of ex players who have played. Uh for Arsenal and they played in that Champions League and It's like gone to a whole different universe when you see the build up when you're walking to the ground, how brilliant was Barcelona, Arsenal fans sitting together, traveling in together, the energy was fantastic. It's so big. It's just like It made me it made me very excited about the future again because we're not talking about a million years ago. and where the women's game is and for the Champions League to be in Lisbon, in f in in that in and at full stage. It was absolutely Brilliant man and the a the atmosphere, the energy it was fantastic. And then obviously. You know, the girls winning. Was like You know, you go into that game, I'm not gonna lie, I go into that game very apprehensive about what's gonna happen simply because of the amount of gold. The last couple of games I watched Arsenal live. I'm nervous. I don't know yeah, I'm very nervous. I don't know if they're saving themselves because they're working on what they're gonna do against Barcelona, but Especially when I went up to watch 'em at Villa. Watching the game at Villa. Petrified. I think that's rightly so. It can't be underestimated. How much Arsenal were The huge underdogs in that game. I know a lot of Arsenal fans themselves, but the reality is they were huge underdogs. It's one of the biggest shocks in the history of w European women's football. This it was crazy. And we we in the preview that we did on Counterpress before the game, we talked a lot about All the things that had to happen for Arsenal to win the game. And pretty much all of those things did happen. They had to be so disciplined. They had to make they had to then be talked about a lot afterwards, they had to suffer without the ball because in all of their games this season. Hadn't been a a moment where they'd had or forty percent or less possession. But that was gonna be the reality of playing a team like Barcelona. They were gonna have to make that, you know, play with without the ball. Their press was have to was gonna have to be exceptional and disciplined and very specific in its approach, which it was. They they only pressed to try and keep the ball out wide and stop Barcelona from coming in. Um And uh they had to make sure that they could manage the referee, manage individual opponents, manage the clock. And all of those things fell into place. You know, you you like obviously you you're worried about um Bon Mati. Um Pateus. Either Pyor and that. And they they were still trying to do they were still doing their stuff. I thought Bon Matti's just kinda like she was threatening to Going to one of those kind of like games where she just takes it over and and and completely runs it. Pateo's very disappointed with her. Even Pyor thought up front, I thought we dealt with her very well simply. I think all of Arsenal's back line had unbelievable games. And then even D uh even Daphne. uh Van Domsler, she she was in a position where and and I she weren't fit. I don't think she was probably fit because there was a coup that went back to her right. where I'm thinking, come and get it, come but she wasn't and I spoke to her just briefly afterwards and she said I was I was really you know I mean I was just struggling a little bit and I just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything where She sprang into something and then something happens. But like Leah. You know, Steph, the the blocks, some of the blocks. I thought even Katie McCabe I was quite worried about going into that game. I we we didn't give the ball away silly. Kim Little again d done a great job. Without People see her like blasting into tackles that she was just in the right place. Mopping up, playing balls out and And just getting us going, but like I was always worried that we weren't gonna be able to get 'cause we didn't have the pace up front. And that's what I was talking about early early in that game. I said s probably Stina. I know she came on and she made all the difference. If she started, would she have given us Which are giving us the the the capability of going out and then playing further up there. further up in Barcelona's then because we didn't have anyone stretching them. Well you could you could see from the office well the the approach was gonna be if you won the ball. go direct and and and go long as quickly as possible and hit Ford or Kelly and then try and get some cross into the box. And there was that first half header for four that that didn't quite land. But that was the idea. But there wasn't an opportunity to run it behind and then bringing Cena on changes that. Well the own goal as well, the parade's own goal. That came from that kind of thing as well. But I feel like it Even though our Arsenal needed to be solid defensively, it felt like they weren't Too low. You know, they kind of s uh there was something about like the spacing, which meant like you know when like you you hear it in an attacking sets people making the pitch really big. Mm-hmm. But it felt like Whatever Renee was trying to do was Not condense it too much, because Arsenal won the ball. A little bit higher up. They weren't just like nicking it at the back and then kind of springing counter attacks all the time, especially in the first half. Yeah. And then I th I wonder whether it was it was Renee's thinking in terms of just keeping it as like k they have to keep a clean sheet in the first half. It has to be in the half time. Not only because then introducing Stina they have to not concede in the first twenty minutes. Yeah, yeah, that's the biggest thing. Which they did in in the games against Chelsea, then It's done because You know what I saw, I remember remember the the the the final a few years ago with Leon when Leon I mean like twenty minutes. Ridiculous falling over. And what I saw from that game is what I didn't believe that Arsenal would be able to do to them. Now they didn't do it to the extent that Leon done it because they literally shut them down to the point where good players were making ridiculous passes, all nervous on the ball. And I was I didn't think we'd be able to get them. That rattled. I think that we got them rattled enough where they start you know when When the when players start wanting everything from the reference, like, oh come on. You know, when you see that kind of agitation with them, you feel like you've got them now. Got them in a place position now where if you can break Like we did with the header. It's same for Kim Little Kim Little's over the bar. We had that one as someone else. I c can't remember that one, but like we had two chances there. Well I'm thinking We could have done a a lot better with him and it would have been That moment in the g We we'd have deserved to have been in front at that stage because they couldn't get going. They didn't have any like super duper clear cut chances. Yeah, not point nine X G and Max who did our piece on the cutback. Well I think it's the uh lowest the joint lowest X G figure on record for Barcelona. And you remember Barcelona going into I think they've got 171 goals in forty games. Crazy, something crazy like so they're scoring like They average inside like four goals a game. Especially like I said. Watching us and the goals that we were conceding and how easy it was. Maybe they were trying to get used to what they were trying to do. Um and getting prepared for Blo Barcelona, but it was a massive worry because that was You know I mean, why wouldn't you not think that Barcelona are gonna come and and do the same thing? I did not expect Arsenal to stunt them like they did. And it was it was a brilliant performance though. I think the proof as well for Arsenal moving forward is how they do lock in and how they bring this consistently consistently and out across the season. Because where a lot of people have come unstuck against Barcelona and think about how many times this happened to Chelsea now. is how difficult it is to do that across two games that you're having to do. Not only obviously did Chelsea lose that final in twenty twenty one when they concede a s an early goal and it just destroys them. across two legs, they've had good performances one in one leg, but can't do it in both legs. They've had games in which they can frustrate Baslo in one leg, win those fifty fifties, duels, blocks, all the things Arsenal did, but they can't do it in a second leg. Arsenal pulled off a phenomenal performance and every single player was ten out of ten in this one off game. Now they need to apply that to their whole season and and just bring this consistency because they've done it against Chelsea in League Cup finals. Steena's been the match winner in League Cup Finals. So now for Arsenal moving forward is making sure that they're not still gonna be this team that has these wobbly moments against West Ham against Villa in in these games and make sure they can deliver consistency. Well, looking forward, I wanted to ask you both actually, because I mentioned something on Stadio with Tamut about how it feels like because that the landscapes has changed so dramatically since Arsenal l last won the Champions League. Maybe we're not fully realizing how seismic this could be moving forward. Because if you think about Arsenal. Uh Most successful. Side in England. in women's football. But a lot of new women's football Even with the the league win a few years ago. It still felt like Arsenal needed something that position repositioned them in the modern era. similar to what they were in the past. Do you know what I mean? But now winning the Champions League. Who that could attract. Yeah. I think I think it makes a big difference because Arsenal's Brand in terms of how big the club is in the women's football landscape is huge. And a lot of that is down to the fact that they have a lot of the biggest England players. And that's helped draw a big fan base. They're in a really exciting, really diverse era of London. The clubs come together. They've nailed that. But I agree with you, Ryan. the the success pitch hadn't yet followed in terms of winning trophies. I think when I look at the two thousand and seven legends I think they are different because I mean the women's game was very different then, but that group Gone from I think it's two thousand three, two thousand nine, that group went unbeaten for a hundred and eight games. Wild. They were and and no, the game is very different then. I that would be impossible to do now. And obviously Chelsea did it this season, but it was very different, but They were so ahead of the Cup. They were so ahead of the Cup. And that team that won it is a who's who of people who went on to be England legends or were England legends at the time, Alex Scott, Kelly Smith, Julie Fleeting for Scotland, etc. Karen Carney. So it I think this group is very different. This group Has a bit more of an air of Crazy gang style. the sort of people who no one believed could do it. And they did it against all odds. And they're a bit Ramshackle. You saw in Katie McCabe's kind of drunken celebrations. You saw Chloe Kelly running into the pub. It's a bit different because yes, the the group that wanted thousand seven, they had to be Umea who were had Martyr, for God's sake. Like they were a very good team. But also in the context, they uh Arsenal had huge levels to it. And this group is obviously stacked with big players still, Kim Little, Leah Williamson who had a ridiculous game. And I probably maybe didn't give her enough credit on the night, but considering where she started this season when she looked like she was struggling, especially for England, she's now ended the season in insane form ahead of a European championships, well she'll captain her country, and that's amazing. Um But I think it's gonna be really interesting how Arsenal build from this because we'll probably reflect in a few years what the legacy looks like. of this group whereas so many of the players that won that two thousand seven game were still quite young. So they went on to have really big careers. Whereas some of these Arsenal players are are you know, they may be leaving this summer or they're in their late twenties, early thirties. So it's gonna be a different sort of legacy. You know what it's gonna be interesting is because obviously they get like you might you mentioned Kim Little there. Leavalti coming to that kind of stage of of their career. And then you win the Champions League, but you still do believe that Arsenal do need to have a massive, like just dressing room shake up in respect of what they're doing because Showing that they've got the mentality to to beat a Barcelona and win the Champions League, you know, something obviously I think if Chelsea won that then um and won everything else. You'd have to say that Chelsea are amazing. Chelsea would love to have won that Champions League and not won the league. I be I guarantee ya. You look at this particular Arsenal team. And and for me Once they W once once we can bring in those pla I know exactly I want, but I'm not gonna say anything anything there because like I w we need more pace up front. I think we need pace in the midfield. But I do think that Arsenal made it. a massive decision in in giving it to to to Renee. Because Wha why I'm pleased about that is because when you when you look at the coaches and the women's coaches and the amount of assistance that we see. Managers get sacked because they've got main managers, you know what I mean? And You know and they're managing and We're talking about not winning too much, not winning a lot, not killing it with winning stuff. But they seem to get jettisoned in. When you've got an assistant coach ready to go. So what I'm happy about is that someone like Renee gets the chance and then she does this, 'cause she did change it. You've got to give These assistants, these women a chance. Instead of constantly you know I mean, okay, are we gonna get a like they're talking about Nick Cushing and obviously before we we've got we've got our manager in y in Yonas. these assistant coaches a chance. So I'm glad that Renee's I've gone a long way around it, but I'm glad that Renee's got the opportunity to to do that and win that. I'm really pleased about that. Having a woman in there it must be m naturally more relaxing for you having a woman. I think when Yonis left. a lot of the narrative and the conversation and we talked about on counterpress was They should probably get a woman in the And I think you can see the impact. And also I think it matters that Renee was already there. And as an assistant, a lot of her responsibility was these individual performance. plans with the players and therefore she had a really good relationship with the players. Um, and I think that counts for a lot in terms of the trust, the understanding. um just building building that that bond between player and coach and I think that will will carry her really far. I think the challenge moving forward is how she builds a squad that is capable to to d sustain an entire season. Um, because She found a really strong eleven, but I think now it's how she can manage a whole squad, rotate through. Sonia Bon Pastor has had the luxury of being able to you know, she had a few injuries. Lauren James probably the the one and and obviously Sam Kerr never really came back this season. But she she she's built this really strong squad, so therefore she can rotate in in games. Whereas I think for Arsenal this summer is so key because Renee Sleggers needs to now build a squad that she knows that she can trust. And rest players who are also gonna be coming off the back of a Euros. No one would have thought when she came in Arson winning the Champions League. No one saw that coming. So now we are gonna see. um what she's about as a manager and I've I'm fingers crossed that she can uh She can get it right. Because I think it's a brilliant thing that you see a women a woman winning the Champions League like that, coming in halfway through the season and changing it. And getting it done. Brilliant it's a brilliant thing. I had some huge moments um in my football career, but there's more to my story than that. It's about the smaller moments, like how A little support can go such a long way, which is what is so cool about Cabri game changing wins. An initiative that highlights the small acts that have the power to make a big difference to players. So let's get into this special segment. Game changers by Cadbury, where I get to talk about some people who've helped me in my career and the person I've chosen. Is the boss I had And my last job working at tunnel refineries in Greenwich, Gary Twydell. It was his support. that made me go for the palace trial because I had so much rejection when I was younger. I was afraid of rejection and I told him about my story and he said you mustn't rejection stop you from doing what you believe you should be doing. And I remember him giving me the opportunity by giving me an extra week, 'cause I had a two week trial at Palace. And he said, I will do everything I can. And I think. That with his support and the fact that He gave me that extra week. I went to palace and it was the only trial I ever got through. And I think it was because He gave me the comfort and the confidence to go and do it because I had something to go back to. He might see it as nothing. But for me it was it changed my life 'cause like I said, I turned the trial down three times. simply because I was afraid and he was the one that gave me the strength. carry on and go and do it and then The rest is history. How do you feel if your forest really kind of Fizzled out. season that it's n not too long ago. They would like Challenging us. If they beat think if it was Arsenal's if they beat them they would have went second or something for us. Yeah yeah at the time. When I Arsenal drew away. The way the season was going out And then for it to just finish like that, they're ones I'm looking out for next season. They're the ones I'm looking out for next season because that At the end of the season, you wanna kinda finish on a high moment and they will be. Very disappointing with how that's finished. You could see a number nine coming in there and you could see than going for anybody that the top people are going for. They will go for them. But like I felt sorry for them. Um Felt so for Villa. Oh my God. You know something. Um Emir Emery's performance on the sideline. He was doing textbook sarcastic behaviour. He it was so good. Chelsea Forest on one screen. And then United Villa on the other screen. And he was doing this brilliant sort of sarcastic clap like well done. He was basically clapping his face saying, Well done, you lot. Yeah, you've thrown this away. Congratulations. You can have the money. Enjoy it, Jane, et cetera, et cetera. It was so Perfect. And um What was his energy? Enjoy the money. No, it was gr and to to be honest, to you right. They were so poor. And I get there's this whole ridiculous thing about writing to the P GMO about that dislodged girl and I get it, it's frustrating. But They were awful. And Emory knows they were awful. Yeah, but you know what they have to know. That goal. That go can you say 'cause goals change games. They do. Right. Goals change games. And like you can yeah, you can you you you can play a game like that and it is Terrible. You are shit. You can't get it going. Then all of a sudden you get a goal like that out of nothing. It gives you something. And that was taken away from them because of a poor refereeing decision. decision he should have waited because he's got the capability of using something that can give him Proper Um definite results in respect of did he hold it? No, he didn't have his hands on it. He didn't hold it, didn't have it under control. Why didn't he wait? We're looking at the linesman waiting to the point where a one ye ruptured his intestines because they're letting it play. And we always said that that's gonna happen at some stage. Why didn't this referee Let it play. Why is he blow instantly just because we've seen him close to the goalkeeper and the goalie's hands were on it? The VAR's there for that. That mistake is not. Acceptable. And I think that changes it for Villa. The thing I don't agree with is that they've gone after the inexperience aspect, 'cause you remember Bas uh Bayern What's your inexperience for the game? last season champagne. He was too inexperienced. Yeah, saying he was too ex like um Marciniac, but he blew the whistle before Delix put it in and it turned out it wouldn't have been a foul or whatever. I don't know, I don't know why there was just a an a It's an instinct. But I also still think Villa don't win that game. I think it changes if they can win it. Yes. But it can change the game. It makes you realise, okay, come on. It's just I'm hypothetical, yeah. Yeah, i it is, but again. That is page one of for me in the wreck people talking about is inexplic no. That is something that is happening right now. It's a simple thing. It's a simple thing. Right, you know what? It looks like Yeah, he's gonna go, you know what? play and then we watch it and then it's oh actually that was a goal bam And so uh if I'm Villa Um at the end of the season. And that happens. You know, someone was telling me the other day, yeah, but remember what happened with Sheffield United with the goal? The goal stole. Remember the the goal that went in. So th that's their karma said, really? We're going back there. The receipts never forget. They never forget. Somebody found this. I still maintain that that Villa was so poor. And I think Emery. I understand the frustration. I totally get that. That that goal shouldn't have been disallowed, but I think Villa had it in their hands and they didn't do enough. Can I can we just talk about another team now? Quickly. Yeah. Chelsea? I didn't see the celebration police coming out when Chelsea was celebrating like They just wanted to tell everyone to F off. Yeah. And and Levi Levi Car people talking a lot of shit about us this season before, Wilson. If Arsenal celebrate like that for it will be it'll be all over social media. the so called haters pinned to the dressing room wall and it motivated them to finish the season as it did. They had momentum. They hadn't won a game outside of London since December, I think. Their away record was so poor. It's something crazy like and wanna wear outside of a Maresco it would have maybe like So that's going into that. surprise because no I don't think anyone saw that they would be able to do that at Forest on the final day. And they did do it and forests were poor, they didn't threat of us again. Again it you you have to get s when you get to this this stage of the season and you're playing for something then unfortunately for us obviously the semi finals. They came out they're playing they lost in the semifinals and then obviously trying to finish the season so they can finish In the top four. The mentality um wasn't there for them to do it. First time kind of rowing that it's it's tricky, I think, to get it fully over the line in the first The first go. You know, 'cause it's not really I mean, it's only a few years ago they came up. So I think that Forest are in a really interesting position because They They they're one of the p the the teams who have made a lot of other teams really panic. There's like there's the the old school top six, for want of a better word. They're all panicking a little bit. They you've got Villa and you've got Forest and you've even got teams like Bournemouth at one point who were we were like Bournemouth might be. Bournemouth might actually fully call it for the Fulham. Fulham had a little blast as well. A few teams were having a look, and it just feels like now Used It's now just one of the most stressful things is to qualify for the Champions League. And I think any team. I I think it we're just in again Uh it's reminded me a little bit of uh Got to mention at least once the Bundesliga. Where you usually get like the turnover of teams sometimes who are qualified for the Champions League. go it's quite cyclical, like some randomly one team will qualify for the Champions League one year and then the next year they'll be like tenth. Premier League's in for an era of that, to be honest. Because Yeah, because I just think that the margins are so small now over the I want teams like Brentford and Fulham to get I want Fulham to get back into Europe. Want Brentford to have their time near. Yeah, I mean you've wanted and Bournemouth from the Fulham for me it was the FA Cup. Yeah. They had the opportunity against Palace at Craven Cottage and they were so poor. They were so poor in that case. Well, Palace were exceptional, but I mean but that was the moment In which that was their moment. That was their moment and they could have been in the position Palace were in. And next season they need to make sure that They are in that conversation. Any other things of note? Uh quite quite wild if you look at the bottom uh I've got Fot Mob opener. You look at the bottom of that person that write house script isn't I would you look at the bottom and it's got the the colour coded thing. So it's got Southampton, Ipswich, Leicester have all got little red lines next to them. And then you've got for uh spurs above them with a big green line next to it, and you look at the code and it says Green equals Champions League. Well the stat the crazy stat Tottenham and the first side in top flight history to lose twenty two games in a thirty eight game season and not be raring. Can I just say, um yeah, as uh 'cause people are constantly asking about a great season. That's a great season for the fans to have something to celebrate. But like, you know, you can't say that's Great season for them. This is something we've never seen before. I don't think we'll ever see this again. Leicester, Ipswich, and Southampton. For their poor poor form. I think the I think that Man United or Totem go down this year. I think one of them would have gone. Twenty two games. It's that's relegation form. It's like bang in the middle of it as well, not like oh you're close to the edge of it. In the middle of it. But the thing was Spurs were never in a relegation fight, if you think about it. Even though they finished there. They were never in a relegation fight. They were still. Those three words. Yeah, but I think but this is but this is why I think that We're talking about it a bit, but Hasta Cogley saying, Listen The amount of injuries we had, we were looking around and we were like Do we go for this in like January? And you could tell in January, like No matter how bad Spurs are gonna be for the rest of the season, they probably weren't gonna go down. So when you actually have that safety, when you get people back, would the you're so far adrift anyway in the league, would you rather push for like eighth, ninth, you might not qualify for Europe at all. Mm. Look, I get why people who go every week I was chatting to a Spurs friend of mine about it the other day and they were s he was like, Obviously it wouldn't change this for the world. You know, then you got the Brighton game on the final game of the season, you're like Oh yeah, this is what it's been like. Every week. Or every other week at home. Well, all of my mate all my Spurs mates were very much Even if he wins and Chester go. But they've all ch they've all changed their mind now. They've all changed their mind now. I I would direct people if you haven't listened to it, go and listen to Stadio after the Europa League final, 'cause Moose Knight did like a whole bit on Spurs and then a whole bit on Monday night and I think that it's It's it's not one of these things that you can just be like A or B. I think there's so much wrapped up in the Spurs thing and if you look at The gap seventeen years without a trophy, forty odd years without a European trophy, coming in and being like, I always win something in my second season. And then fucking doing it. Yeah, but you know what? I like the way the way he said it is like it was in the middle of this season that they've had where they are in the table. And when you watch it, he wasn't he wasn't doing a flex right. It wasn't like listen, I always score it. I always win something in my second season. It's like she was interviewers asking him and she asked him questions that kinda pushed him and he said yeah but answer it like yeah, I I I normally win something in my second season. And then everybody. Everybody went, wow, bro, with the way Totna playing, wow. I think. This could be arguably one of the greatest managerial seasons of some for of a manager in in in the where Tottenham were. Twenty two games lost, the injuries You know, and then to win the Europa League It is it is one of it's one of those seasons for a manager I don't think will be replicated. It's unbelievable. I'm surprised you know what? The fact that how long have they been wanting him to be like moved on? How long have they been trying to say get him out, get him out now? Hopefully he can stay and and continue to do something for Spurs. But the my Tottenham friends, I cannot lie. I'm quite happy for them because you could see the joy, man. It was so and I was there. I remember I s I was at the front with the Tottenham fans and as soon as Tottenham won I just backed off so they couldn't see me. Exactly what it was, right? Because you know you're standing there and you're you're clapping them and then all of a sudden they're looking up and they're saying Oh everyone And then I was just went like that. I just homed I just homered. And then I actually homered out of the whole of the place. I was still homering to the airport. I was homering all the way. Did you see any around town before? Yeah, yeah, they were great form. Especially when I got to the um You know what's really strange relationship. I've never met a Spurs man he doesn't like. No, but the thing is, what was good about is is that they were they was they were saying, ah right, yeah, you come to see what a final's like, right? And I just kept saying to everybody Listen, good luck. I'm I'm really hoping it atmosphere. And but obviously I'll say the same to my United fans, but I've got a lot more Tottenham fan friends than I've got my United friends, if I'm gonna be totally honest. I was pleased for them. And you know hopefully this is a spring ball for for for for Ange simply because worked with him in the in the Us and he's a really lovely bloke spent a lot of time with him. And how he is and how you feel the your your perception of him is probably he's just the normal bloke. He's he just wants he's just coaching, doing the best he can. Just have a pint. And I agree with you, he spent a lot of his time at Tottenham being ridiculed and laughed at. And I think This is an amazing statement to basically say. you. Yeah. Like double mo middle finger foot. So he lost four one. Um and he was just a bit like But he might as well have just been like, listen. I don't fucking ask me this shit. I just got the Europa League. Can I just quickly because of like um did you see I won my my man my team with team one in the baller league? Yeah we w We won't we play our our best our best game of the whole baller league was um was On Mon on Monday. We beat they we beat Santan's team. We we murdered six two. And we were fantastic. And I felt very angy. Because like When you lose in so many games like we were losing, and I went I'd go home and it would bother me. And so me and Ange just not cut out for males. So me and Ange, I was really emotional. So you know I I can imagine how Ange felt when he went home winning that Europoly because when I on Monday when I came home I felt I said Nance, it's okay, we don't have to move yet. We don't have to pack the boxes up. No, but the the point I wanna make is um is again, I'm I'm probably gonna go on Massive for Ange, I'm giving Ange flowers. I think he's coming out loads of flowers. He's got to get some simply because of uh What he said and the time he said it and the ridicule, like you mentioned, flow that he got because of it. And like we're talking about Tottenham. You ain't won anything for I don't know how how long how many years? Seventeen years. Seventeen years, you know what I mean, and not looking like it neither. And he's said that he he normally does it with Tottenham and he's done it. So and Bam. Any other thoughts from the Premier League final day? Um just just Newcastle and the Newcastle's emergence, they seem like a team that's gonna scare. They're gonna scare people, especially if if they can get a couple of players in alongside what they've got. Mm. then they're gonna be a problem, I think. 'Cause I think that they're the ones who are are frightening people in and around the top four. You know, where we've got no United up there at the moment, Tottenham are nowhere near there at the moment. City and Chelsea are coming back. Well, you know, they probably will come back next season and obviously Liverpool and Liverpool and Arsenal. But I think that um Newcastle are the ones who are knocking on the door of those g of those men. And also just I want to say uh How obviously it was before the the horrible stuff about at the parade, but how lovely it was to see Uh Alan Hansen. present Vogel Van Dyke with the Premier League trophy. And to see him looking It still looks amazing. Yeah, it still looks cool. He's got Piers Brosnan vibes. Yeah Yeah, very true. And also, uh talked about it a bit on Stadio as well, but just um Go to see the Trent got a It was nice because you know what was um what was really quite nerve wracking about that is that You could see him in the line getting ready to be ch announced to come and you could feel his head was like that. His head was like that, he was down because he's thinking, I don't know what's coming, I don't know what's coming and then obviously it was cheers. And then in the end, I'm really pleased that they turned that round so that Trent can get that kind of Love what he's had because you can see how emotional he was. Yeah. It's been there since he was six. Yeah. You know, that's not easy what he's doing, and they didn't make it easy but I'm glad they kind of like Turned it around and saved it a little bit at the end there. Also Miss said something on that started about how not a lot of people or not enough people are talking about how brave a movie it is. It's such a brave move. It's such a tough move. He's already getting p you know, like negativity from Spain. You know, we saw Killing in Bappe. I was I was I was there's one of the we I think he's on thirty odd goals and they were saying that why did we get him you know I mean the greatest goal scoring debut season for Real Madrid ever. Than anyone and they're saying things like that. So you're going into a real cauldron. And you know what? That's what he wants that's what he wants to test himself. So we'll see. I think this is having Jude that's gonna be good, because it will be obviously super. It will help him. But at the same time gonna need to hit the ground running. I tell ya, when you speak that see, I need dropped one. I might as well drop it in. You speak to Bex about like Real Madrid. And when he went and then when he wants to call when he goes in the dressing room, all of a sudden you start to realise um in the dressing with these guys. Yeah. Obviously you have to get into that place where you of course I'm good enough to be, otherwise I wouldn't be here. But then you have to go out and perform for those guys and then do what you do. So as people can see, oh, I can see how he fits in there with them. Cause when you sp when you mention Beckham's name With them. You can be mention it with Ronaldo. Zidane, Robert O'Carlos. You can mention his name in it and it doesn't feel out of place. That's where Trent is gonna try have to go and get himself. Speaking of Englishmen who have gone to Real Madrid. who scored the winner in that two thousand eight League Cup final. Jonathan. Jonathan Woodgate. Of course. The lesser spotted Jonathan Woodgame. Before we go. Mary Eps. Announced her retirement from international football just before the Euros coming up. Yeah, big news this week taking Everyone by surprise when it dropped yesterday when it was announced, because England are currently in camp. for two Nations League games this this week and they've got s Portugal on Friday and then Spain the following Tuesday. So everyone reported to camp on the Monday, Arsenal players coming in on the Tuesday, obviously they've been celebrating And yeah, it kinda came out of nowhere. So Serena Bigman had to answer questions around it in the press conference, as does did Jess Carter. She said she was surprised, disappointed. Um surprise and disappointing. They're so serene. Um, and Jessica Carter talked about obviously the the huge impact Mary Ups has had. on the squad, off the pitch, and also I think really probably the profile of goalkeepers. I think Jordan Pickford obviously is um has done the same with England men in terms of where his character his personality sort of cuts through. But David Seaman was and I call it goalkeeper. A lot of that was h his presentation, his tash, his hair, and obviously a great goalkeeper. But it is quite rare that goalkeepers get to be like a main brand or a main personality of a team, but Mary Ups has had that aura around her. So I think that is gonna be a big gap. and a big leader that that England have to fit. I think there's a lot more must be going on because um you when you you when you lay it out like that You can see All the benefits of her being around it. Um so for her to not even wanna be around it at this stage and we're we're talking about not long before we get into the Euros. To have a player of that experience not involved, of course, questions have to be asked. um on why she's chosen this time and that but like The first thing I thought for myself is Listen, I know that Mary Mary's out there, she's in your face. You know what I mean? She says a penet in the World Cup Finals and tells you not to fuck off. Right. That's what we did. All time. Great moment, right. That's where she is. Now, y yes, a a lot of people can go straight to the well it' it's 'Cause she's not playing, 'cause she hasn't had a great season, 'cause it Yeah, of course. Then you've got that character which took her to where she's going when you look at her story and how hard it is been for her to get to the top. A lot of women more character. been in the group for f like five years. She's been to a Euros and not put on a boot. She's been to a World Cup and not put on a boot, but she's there for them. That's two different characters. Now if it is something like Mary can't deal with the fact that, you know, she maybe not be number one and that's not for her character, then I think she's right. She's right to not be there. Yes, you people will say, Well yeah, but she's got the experience. We need her in the dressing room. That's the thing. I totally get that. But the fact is, right. Is if you're not that person naturally, that is not the environment you wanna be in, 'cause it y it actually will go the other way. That's a uh yeah, I hadn't ever really thought about that, but I think that's an interesting way of thinking about it as well, 'cause if you know that like you kinda need to be the number one, especially in the goalkeeping role, mm, I'm gonna remove myself from the environment because it's not actually gonna be good for the group. That's the th that's the way I'm d until I hear more flow. It's difficult for England because you've got this Nations League window that's happening so close to the Euros, but Soon of Egman's sort of managing this squad like it's the Eur Squad, but it's not the confirmed Eur Squad yet. That's not happening until the fifth of June. Obviously the squad that's picked now is probably very close to the squad that's gonna go. There are still or maybe there should still be things up for debate. Um, but obviously she's maybe used this camp to already make a few calls. I think it's obviously disappointing to see Mary Ups not part of the of the squad for the Euros and the biggest concern from an England perspective is that if something were to happen to Hannah Hampton who has earned that number one role. She's had a phenomenal season for Chelsea and she's done well when she's been playing for England recently. But Mary Ups is an exceptional tournament goalkeeper and for England not to have her as an option. Is concerning because the next um choice would probably be Manchester City's Gara Keating, who isn't ready for that. And Anna Morehouse Probably isn't either. Um, and I think that's probably a concern for England. And and you know, it it is quite rare that that injury issues do happen to goalkeepers at major tournaments, but you never know what might happen. And I think it's a lot of pressure on Hanahampt, it's a lot of pressure on Keating in Warhouse. Yeah, I think so. Um, and I think that is obviously frustrating. I know there's been reports in The Guardian as well that Mary Ups has been considering her retirement for the past year, which I'm you know, I'm sure is the case. It's more the timing of the thing. I'm gonna back her in respect of what the decision she's made 'cause she's made she f I think but she's she believes she's made the right decision for herself. Whatever we all say about the experience, but we That is a problem, especially at that um level with the goalkeepers that we've got in res in uh in backup. So it's an interesting one. And a text from the team, really robot, Remontada? Romantada return. She hasn't really probably played enough football in the last year or so, but she's got more caps. She's got some caps. Yeah, but I think that sh when you're looking at the experience, you probably say, you know what? 'Cause remember it's w before before Mary It was Ellie Roll but before she she she she went well. And she was involved. So she's got the experience. She's been around the c I've I don't I would not be surprised to see her come back in 'cause surely they're gonna be thinking now that Mary's made that decision. Well you know what I might bring Ellie Rowe back in as well simply because of the experience she's got. Do you know where I'm gonna go to find out? Crossways and counterpress through the years. So true. And the cutback. Subscribe, guys. Oh yes. Like and subscribe. Shout out the cutback. Yeah, yeah. She roll. I think we should roll. So um yeah, it's good to see I haven't seen you for a while, Flo, because you've been avoiding What have I done? You say this every time we're gonna do it. Did you but I it felt it when we did Kelly and Righty together two weeks ago. I didn't see you in Lisbon because you were there for about Seventy two hours. I thought it was gonna mean it used two days. It's quite long time. I th I'm it it just feels like when we do the the Curling Writing, it' she's not the same flow. I don't I I don't know. It's Bizflow. It's it's Bizflow, yeah. It's more flow. It's on Best Behavio Flow, but I miss I miss you too. Listen, thanks Flo. Thanks Flo Lloyd Us. Thank you very much, Ryan Hun. Thanks for listening, everybody. Um I think it's it's been a k um an interesting season. You know, at the end of the day I think the team that deserved to win one, so We'll be back next week, um, and so we'll see you then. Take it easy. do I want to win the Champions League? I'm going for PSG. because I want the winners, I want the team that knocked us out to be the winners. That's how childish I am. Take it easy everybody. I'll speak to you soon.
