Hi man, welcome to Rise House. Hope you're all safe and well. It's the final episode before the summer, and we're gonna chat about some stuff that we've loved this season. And my guests are Ryan Hunt, Karl Anka, Mayor Kodry, Faduma Along, Florlo Juice, and Jeanette Quashi. Wow, I don't know how we're gonna do this. What a surprise when I came in then I saw all of you. It's good for you. I just felt yeah, I felt like I've been on a gap here. I've just come back and I've just had my eye dreams again. It's so good to see everybody. How's it going, everyone? Jeanette. Me and Jeanette was yet to d yesterday, we did that. Um Vars and all. And I couldn't tell you. I couldn't tell you. I was like I'm coming tomorrow, but then Rama was like, don't say What a nice surprise. And for Dooms without a Man United shirt, are you doing what was he saying? What was we talking about? It's the first time I've seen you without a Man United shirt. It's still a football shirt. It's still a football shirt, but it's not Man United with the you know, with your vibe. That's true. Because you've normally got a vibe and an energy with your Man United shirt. It doesn't seem to be bad. You know what I mean? Carl's just like looking at you smiling like don't worry. Fourteen hours Manchester to Bilbao. Fourteen hours back. Wonderful trip talking to some of the best football fans, not just Man United fans but Spurs fans. I don't want to talk about that. game of football. No. No. No. I prefer not to speak. Maybe we should use this as a therapy session for my Man United. No. We've done too many therapy sessions for Man United. Man United on Talking. You're like you're trying to I'm not shining, I'm not shining How can I show you not shining it? We did write his house last week and it's like Got to talk about Arsenal win Champions League. Uh Arsenal win the Champions League. 'Cause it is one club. It's one club. You know, that's what I've been preaching when I talk about it. It's one club. So we won the Champions League. And we could we we should you know what I'd love uh Arsenal Fice to do is sing you'll never sing that to teams who haven't won the Champions League. And I'm talking like the men's fans. 'Cause we're all fans of Arsenal, so we can now sing. You'll never sing that. It's good pepper. I like it. I like it a lot. Uh if we talk about the big game from this week. Yes. You won last night against United. Well, you know. You know, it's P I'm getting so much sick, bro, because My team's turned up nine weeks. Nine weeks. And you know what? I said to the guys last night, which is really good because like we're kinda bonded now. Because we've we've been late now. We've kind of bonded, but the thing is You can either like keep those players Or you just go, No man I'll roll them out and I'll bring a whole load in. No, these players after show 'cause they're better. Then what we we we finish second second from bottom. We beat two the two teams that qualified easily in the last two weeks, and it's only because people calmed down and and done what me and Ross. Oh, do you feel like you're getting soft here as a manager? No, I'm not going soft, but you know something? I'm more Arson Venger than George Graham with the man then. Okay. Yeah, because There's no relegation. No relegation, though. Kind of like Ang Putzer Coggly. I ain't brave enough to th throw out something like Ange. Ange's a Ange that's one of the obviously one of the that'll go down as like, I would love it. That's one of those kind of vibes, isn't it? I would love it if we beat them. I think Ange' say saying I know I normally I normally get something myself. Can you can you draft in Brian Lee, please? Brian, you know something. Man's got his eye on him. You know what You know, can I just say quickly before we move on? Who their player was from United last night, but he's a number fourteen. Did you see him? Yeah, yeah. Right, the big the big guy. And then our number fourteen, J C. I don't care anyone said that's his first game last night. Best balling player in that competition in the way he plays his composure, but they had a man that bro he was strong and quick and You know when you you know when the guys are coming off young people coming off and people Everybody's coming up saying, Oh my God, you see how strong they're they want to get near I bounced off him. Did you see how far I bounced off him? You know something it was brilliant. Did you see the ending of the the game between V V Vision. The goal that didn't stand. Yeah. So did you see it? Can I be totally honest? It was like I went and watched it after it was amazing television for the time because I'm thinking one one, I think who was it? Santa is it Santan versus Vision. Right. Both teams need if whoever won that game go through to the final four. Yeah. But then as a draw though, if so. If they were to draw, SDS would go through and SDS would have gone through having lost four games in the bounce and then won six. Games consecutive, the in form team in the tournament. Yes. the loudest fans in the tournament. Probably the most sort of like adored team in the tournament. So they're they're all there on the sideline just waiting, just looking. And in bull untypical baller league fashion, this game was nil nil for so long. For so long. And then the moment comes where the game changer happens and then there's like a whole scored. And then Al B Sheen, who's like one of the informed players of the tournament, misses a penalty and everyone goes Something's happening. We don't like that. Something something's happening in this. It smells. Smells. You know, they're just lucky that we're second bottom because, bro, there'll be some noise this morning over that game, I swear. So it all boils boils down to the last second of the game. Wh. vision believe they have scored the goal to take them to the final four. The celebrations as well when they score this goal. Maybe everyone on the pitch understands everything. You know when you look at it there must have been he could have played that on. He should have played that on I believe that goal should have stood Because there's so much time wasting you're talking a a second. Two seconds. It was like the ball bounced, it was on twenty eight twenty nine. Then as it hit, bam, it it went to th it just went to thirty. I think you can't you can't give that as not you can't take that goal away. It was very MBM. And it was you could see it was like a fraction, you think Really? Was it up there with what happened at Old Trafford and Villa? Is it like that kind of level of be talking about Which one was that when you're with the the disallowed goal from um was it Morgan Rogers? Yeah Yes something there. Before we do uh like highlights to the season, should we quickly talk about Champions League final? Anything anyone wants to say about ninety minutes. Yeah. On the dot. They said let's end this. Very, very Bundesliga, very forfeit the Ryan Hunt approved the referee went. Okay, that's the thing. Because it did feel like in the end of progressive referee. I I felt sorry for Inter. Getting there and then getting beaten so convincingly. But it did feel Like, you know, when you watch one of those boxing matches and you just think referee come on. He's had enough. It felt like in uh just a code. Did you see that subbed off at fifty minutes. Oh my gosh, that man. Against Barcelona and then against them. Right against Pierce. And it it's one of those of Domarco is one of the best wingbac in Europe. He has had three of the worst games of his career. Now up against. Douway and the carousel P Sac. And you're just you're looking at him as he he walks off at fifty minutes and you're going, This is not your fault. Why am I still doing my own stunts? These guys are so young. Tell you what, that being in Munich that weekend You could Yeah, you could you could feel yeah, you could feel that You could feel something was building and it was just the build up like the whole of Paris for some weird reason. Not even Paris, the whole of France was united, which is very unusual because of Marseille. But cancelled Zadine Zam because he said he wanted PH. Exactly. We're doing it for the country and You felt like there was gonna be a special night and Ironically, you mentioned Yamal. He scored his amazing goal at um the Alianz. Do we have his performance there at the Allianz as well? There's just so many subplots. I mean PS by Munich beat PSG in the last final. But I think I messaged I messed the Slack channel. I think it was about like twelve minutes in and I said, There's he do it. He's making me bark like a dog. Wow. And then from then it was just like, Oh, the performance. You know when you're watching something so simple but so effective and so elegant. Yeah, the ballet. Yeah. You know something that it's it's like the manager just said to all I want you to do is did you see that? Post where he's just looking at Summer. Yeah. In blocks. In in blocks. Jeanette. Ready to go. He chased that man down like he was f second gone. Is ridiculous. Yep. You into get the corner. goes out again and you think oh instead of one another corner and it's just bang bang bang bang bang You cannot legislate against a team moving that quickly with that many technicians. PSG have football players who can receive the ball on the pressure, pass on the pressure, carry the ball on the pressure. Second do a goal from um where Vit you see where Vitina Uh uh to me to you to me to you I think T and T put out clip just of Vitina's pass move past move clear way up new goals. It was just like f you know what that you just saw the difference in the quality. So if you're into if you're an inter player, how are you feeling after that? If you're an interplayer devastated. You can't sleep. Devastate because you're remember this is the Champions League final. Final and you're you're going up against a team that haven't won it yet, but you know that they're dangerous. But at the same time, you're there, you've been there before, and you think, Yeah, we're in the final, this is our day. The worst thing that could have happened for them happened. So w as a player, you th that that takes a long time to for this one to lost the Champions League. Lost the league on the last day. Lost the league on the last day. There was an interface near us. And he was so you know when someone's so heartbroken that the head loss is just So loss in the So he's gone in, he's popped champagne. All of the Paris fans. Then he's like pouring champagne, it's like you guys have done well, well done. But I could see the tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe it, but I mean football, right? What a way to end the the the season Yeah, I know, I know. If you want to hear all the boring stuff like sports, well, shouldn't listen to Stadio from Monday. So just stay clear. So, right, what are we going into? Alright, so I thought 'cause there's loads of it, so has to be some kind of sense of order. Yes. So we thought we'd pick out like something that we'd love from this season. Each. Um and all chat about that. But uh who wants to start with a highlight. I feel like my high is the embodiment Kine Just a personality that we've kind of missed in Premier League football as a whole. It's just managers have to say whatever they want and Anne Fosta Cogley, I think, is just that. I just love the chaos. I mean, I really hope he stays. I really, really hope just for the reason 'cause He's the embodiment of just chaos and saying whatever he wants. The sarcasm, the funny moments, the computer. He looks like he's serious all the time. It doesn't seem like he's doing sarcasm. He seems like he's vexed with people. He cra he crashes out, man. He crashes out in press conferences. You ask him a stupid question, he's like Did you just ask me that? I love that for him. Press also loved that. They latched onto that. Picking at him. Picking at him. And the thing is the way he even said about the um answer about winning the trophy in his second season. He was he was answering it. He just says well I norm I normally win one in my second season. Yeah. And then he almost tried to take it back. And essentially true. I know the moment what he had. When w something comes out your mouth and when it gets about here you've you try to bring it up there. Don't know if you heard it last week, but compared to that Wembley Rangers win last win, you're like I don't know what Ange feels like. Honestly. The th third series of a TV show is always the best. Then he kinda went back to be like, Oh well actually someone's all the time. I don't think you should have a maintenance. Yeah, the th the third season is always better. And I thought to myself, mate, have you like se what's happening with Netflix weed these seasons are getting cut in the gone. I think he cares though. Like I think that's the that that's what's so great about him. He actually just doesn't care. I think now he's messing with now he's messing with people deliberately planting little seeds that they can return back to. Little marvel Easter. So we haven't had that in a manager in like forever. One of my favourite things of the season, which actually wasn't even on my list, but it was literally Press conference after the Brighton game at home. They've been hammered, was it four one, right? And they were asking him about it. And he basically was just like I don't give a fuck. I don't care. I've like half of my team is hung over and I'm pretending they've got to injuries. And I'm just wondering you're over league. Like he just says it. As he wants all the time. I don't think it's like Chelsea a few years ago, if you lose your job as Chelsea manager, I don't think that damages you. As a manager because like the way Tottenham is and the way Lever I think that you people say, You went to Tottenham Oh yeah, yeah, I can imagine. Come with us bro. Okay, last Nuno went and done amazing at Forest. Uh Conte went and won the shit won the skeleton. Yeah. So Squares remember. True, true, true, true. That was a that was a final as well. That was a hell of final. Well, I gave myself a buffer because I wasn't sure h if someone would take this before, so I've given myself a couple, but I'm gonna take this, but I feel like a lot of other people m might be annoy that I'm gonna go with it, but Year of the underdog in the cup competition. Yes, man. Well we had Newcastle. I love that. When it's saying it's a eagle and magpie and live a bird. And what was the other bird? Cockerel. A cocker. That's the one. No, I forgot that one as well. The cockerel. So that the underdogs were thriving, but yeah, m obviously Newcastle winning the League Cup, Crystal Palace winning the FA Cup. Arsenal women winning the Champions League. That I think actually probably was the biggest underdog final in terms of what they managed to achieve. People don't realise. The United Spurs game was a bit not even a mid off, it was a shit off. Whereas Arsenal beating Barcelona was completely ridiculous in that final. So I I don't think you could really write a more shocking underdog season where those teams of commander dog energy. Yeah. I didn't enjoy it. Can I can I can I jump on the back of that. Um I want to talk about audaciousness. Arnes Lot and Sonia Bon Pastor coming into the leagues and winning in their first season. Do you know what it is? We make football so complicated. You make it sound like it's this holy grail to be able to win stuff. This is what needs to happen. And then they just both came and they were like Cool. Okay. They both came in and went, Is this what you leave me? And like I just looked I thought wow. They've inherited good teams, don't get me wrong, like really good teams. But at the same time, they were they were so cool with it. There was no drama, no vibe. It was just like, okay, you know, we're gonna come and we're going to play football. And they have come in, they've done such an amazing job. So but I'm interested now to see how the next season goes for them because the stand they set they've set a standard and sometimes you create like. Arsenal winning the Champions League have also put a bigger pressure on Chelsea. Do you think so? Yeah, definitely. I don't know, like I'm swapped all those trophies for Chelsea. However, at the same time Like It was such an underdog story. Chelsea probably think, bloody hell that's a fluke. Do you know what I mean? They're not looking at it and thinking, Oh, this is an Arsenal team we're gonna have to come back and come for in the WSL. No, not really. I mean they'll be pissed, but not too pissed if it makes sense. With with Sonia, like Chelsea are winning and like for her to do it how she did it, impressive. The slot one, however. That reminds me of like Have you switched it on and off again? Oh what. Just reboot it. Just turn it back in. Just unplug it, man. I'm sure I've done this many a time. But then I'd also put Renee in that as well, because I'm sorry to come in. It's true. Come on. He was doing what? No problem, we'll fix this. And then to turn up to a Chambers League fan or looking like a P T job. The thing is though, with with Renee. It's great. I love it. She'd been there, isn't it? She's been she's been part of the setup. So you know when you're part of the setup, you're probably watching your manager like Yeah, what's what's we what's he doing? What's he doing? Give me a chance, I know I can back this up. And as soon as he's gone, she's like, right, finally got it. I'm gonna go. Daytime kickoff you can wear shorts and a t-shirt. I'm happy with that. When the song goes down you have to be in a shoot. But daytime kickoff EFL flow with the fresh. You know I'm I'm just I'm pleased that Renee I'm glad you mentioned Rene, because um I did have her down as one of it. I'm just pleased that she is able to do that because I thought that in the cups especially, I thought she needs something. 'cause also especially I'm so pleased that um and a s a woman assistant coach finally gets the the top job instead of You know what I mean? William got a manager, okay, we're gonna ship him when you've had this assistant there for so long, this woman who wants her chance. So I think that her winning that gives her her opportunity to be there, you know I mean, so she can be the manager properly. Cause I'm telling if that doesn't happen. Arsenal probably think what should we get we need to do give her a chance now. Mm-hmm. I've got a question for the floor. Do you think the managers that those three coaches replaced are a little bit salty about how well they've been salty's not. Clopp will be fine. I think Clopp Klopp's happy. Yeah. I think Clopp will be happy. Klopp is giving me like sort of you know, like a f a family where You know, you the the the fathers moved on, you know, the former partners. The former partners, you know. Nude stepdad's dad is saying, you know what I want to hate, but I'm like, he's looking after the kids. He's very happy. His teeth are looking nice. He's relaxed. There's another Liverpool manager who's on the Premier League site. The pressure is now far. You remember the time. This is beautiful. This is a beautiful thing. Just don't forget it. Them them two. Them two t do need because the teams, yes, they had two really good squad to go into, but you people can mess that up as well. Coming because you're so um tied to your Like your your strategy, your structure, what you wanna do. Ruben. Tight to it on business. I'm gonna play like this. I don't care how bad it is. And these two come in and said, Uh you two you not play like this, okay? Um Arna slowed it down a bit. Obviously with Liverpool, they played a bit more. See Grand Burch's master. But Sonny just said Go and do your thing. Yeah. Is that what you're like at Wembley Wangers, you just go go out there. Bro. Listen. That's how my arms go as well. Yeah, I can see why they're like all through the year annoying. Sonja's probably looking at I need that, I need that, like the same with Arnold Schlott. I think Sonia's done Sonia's done what Honest Lot's done as well in terms of evolved the way that they play. Because end of Emma Hayes' time, that midfield was a mess. And I'm not sure yet on impact that Kira Walsh can have on it because she from January, like sh I don't think she's they've really got the best out of her yet. But that recruitment was very much about we need to make this midfielder 'cause it can be Erin Cuthbert's had a great season. Brilliant. Trushkin Uskin's had a great season. So I think That's evolved, whereas it felt like there was a big hole in Emma Hayes' team. as the last couple of seasons that midfield was a bit all over the place. I think for Chelsea now it's Just Again, that's the Champions League. My highlight of the season, I'm gonna summarise this by calling it vibes. So um I've been well informed since 1030. I'm now what the young people call an unk Oh my God. You got so quick me so long, right? Yeah, that's beautiful. But no, no, no, yeah. But seeing the young footballers and the vibes they're bringing has been really refreshing. So I'm talking Stralsburg and their changing room, whether it's like my piano and the vibes there. I'm talking Lamin Yamal, sending for anyone and anyone via Instagram captions. I am here for young boy energy. I'm here for the sabetry, I'm here for the directness, I'm here for the dancing change rooms. I love it. And I love the fact that it's not policed anymore. All of these young players are saying. I don't care what articles they're gonna write. If I have something to say, I am writing it direct to you and you're gonna read it. I think the Yamal one's probably my favourite. Um What about Miles? I was just gonna be able to. Oh, the mouth is the miles one is I love it. The miles one is the Louis Skelly one is up there. People were saying they want Chin in his face. And he and he didn't care. He didn't give a heck. So you know what I'm I do hope though is that some stage then people will because the the the the way they're trying to shape our um Mars Louis Skelly is They're so they're a million miles away from the guy and if you meet him you'll see. And I just want him to carry on being the mystery. They could let them do what they want and say he just got because he is Genuine. wonderful kid. The the beautiful thing is that generation of footballer we're seeing now more than ever before. I think they've grown up in a age where they're so prep to run social media, but they're all so sure in who they are. So for them it's like I don't really care what Anyone says I'm just gonna be myself. When you break out so young And in ten years, what is your career gonna look like, what is your status gonna look like, and how you can still stay true to yourself, like you said, how you can still protect yourself and be your authentic authentic self without people criticising you or putting you on the pressure. The game's just gonna harden. The game will harden them. They'll have a few good seasons. Yeah. And then something will happen. The game will harden them. And then you just lose the access. Like you see it. You see it time after time after time. But whilst they're having fun, let them have fun. I think some court. I think that's it. He has like a good community around it. Like his mum running projects that she makes such a huge difference too. Not just but it was work but the work of other youngers. With that with that goal and the the celebrate I've never seen an uh an Burst of like people were so They w they were so angry. Mm-hmm. So angry, like he didn't get dissed, properly dissed. Everybody knows who Mars Louis Giuse man. And that's what he did he didn't need to say anything. He just done his thing and then now Everybody knows who the F is. I think it's also I think it's a British thing. I think we're just a little bit. We don't like success. Exactly. We're party poopers. We're expect we expect people to be so humble about everything and you can't you can't have fun, you can't show emotion, you can't do this, you can't do that. In America the expectation is if you score or you do anything, whether it's on social media or in a stadium, you're gonna do something You're gonna make a statement of it. And you're gonna wear whoever that may be. And I think we need to get more used to as a sporting culture of relaxing a little bit more. Like there's a element of like People are comfortable with Joy. You think so. They they're very uncomfortable. They're very uncomfortable with it. So when they see it, they're kind of like Your apathy vibe. It's rubbing me the wrong way. But the the irony of it is if you look at All of these young talents and Especially that generation now. You're just gonna constantly see it. Like I loved seeing the PSG celebrations and they're all doing the Matweedy dance. The stadium is full of it. It's it's it's gonna be here to stay and I just love the fact as you said, Jeanette. Young guys just enjoying themselves. There's a thing about Mars as well and where um I think if he yeah, if he is a insert name of any of the potential players we could put in there. I think the response to it is very, very different, as we've talked about on the show before. But I think also they get to the point where I think they expect They expect to have the gotcha moment when they're like, See, he did the celebration and then his form fell off a cliff and he got better. Yeah. And then they were a bit like, Oh shit we've got a bit. But also I think there's a thing to what Jeanette was saying where like I think we're in an interesting era in terms of punditry in the UK where, for example, um there's a bit of a gap in generations. So a lot of that generation coming through, there's no one really. Exactly. So like even even like the pe like even people like Sturridge are a little bit just a few years out. So It's gonna take a little while I think before there's a bit more of a crossover where people Absolutely. Do you know what I mean? Absolutely. Look, we I I keep getting older, but football players stay the same age. And uh Leminha Mal is top three football players in the world. He's seventeen. Deswet turned twenty. And there was an age where I can remember being twenty. Yeah. talking to a twenty year old football player now and they talk about their average day and the things they're interested in and the celebrities they like. I'm still there going, Uhhuh. Okay. Interesting. I'm going to have to Google all of these. I don't know who any of these are. Um and yeah, I've got I've got unk status now. There are Academy football players that call me young and my wanna talk about like that's the status. Pedry. Yeah. Pedre's an old man in football. He's twenty two. Twenty two. That's what actually what worries me more than the social media is the physical state of what these guys are gonna be in. By the if they're making their debut at seventeen, eighteen. The Honestly, I feel like where we are with science where we are with science in the advancements at the minute. I think they'll be all right. Carl uh the thing I like this season, player partnerships, duos. Right? The two man step. Of Brian and Bueno and your own whistle is it's beautiful. And your club's breaking it up. I love I just love it where you look at a football team and it's very clear there are two players and they get the ball and where's my boy? Well where where's my where's my partner? Where's that other person? out there. I love Nonny and Cole. Right? That is Sorry. Every time I think about Nonny, I think about the forty eight hours he had in Wolverhampton. And I I'm I shouldn't laugh. But every now and again I'm brushing my teeth. Not he said some mean things about wolves. Then said that was meant to be from my burner account. Then he scored a hat trick. Yes, man. And then he's trying his best to to apologize during his interview, but the way he is smiling, I'm looking at Noni, I'm going, Noni, you Leave it now. That's that's one of the I'm really sorry to anyone living in Wolverhampton. I'm really sorry to any Wolverhampton fans listen to this. But that is it's not my best moment of this season, but it's something I periodically think about. How did he do that? Yeah. Um but in j in general, just just just the two player step in football is Beautiful. It's just so nice when there are two players out there. them as a Jeo with some and my bueno is that from a club like Brentford, that kinda typical mid table club hasn't been in the Premier League that long. But to kinda make your name for for yourself and what Brian got twenty goals for then in the season West one off getting twenty. So I think it was obviously Sadly we're breaking them up. Hopefully. But I just think it's a very nice thing to see to see two successful African players just doing the most and performing so well. And they're just entertaining to watch as a side. You know, and Bremo in Buymo as well. When we was younger, you know you had older uncles and those uncles had little brothers. Yeah. He looks like he's your uncle, but like He's your brother, but he's your uncle. He looks old young. Young uncle though. When the parents left the house, he's like you're the one that's in charge. Make sure everyone's eating. He's older than me. You know that kind of brother when you're at school the guy that had a beard already. But like I'm I I didn't realise is uh is he's where he where he was going because like you look at him now and I think he could pr he could probably play for The way he plays off of that wing he could play for any of the the top guys. He's a champion. But when you watched him then and watched the fl you're looking at it now and it's more consistent, you think Yeah. Yeah. It's only the only thing I was surprised about with him is is that twenty twenty six. So I'm I'm saying people are watching him. They're watching him, but do you think he kinda flies under the radar a little bit? If he was uh if he was if he was at bigger club than if he goes if he if he goes to United and scores a couple It's very early doors. I'm sorry, I'm not thinking of people maybe not watching so much about it. I think that he's somebody that's right, if he if he gets in the mo in the in the c in the moments that he's had in w for Brentford for United, he will then realise it. tension from United with him is the the Tony situation was one thing because it's this guy that's brought us from the championships going goals. He anything that Tony did was based off and when we're doing the hard work. I think that what then made it interesting for him was typically before now, if Salah didn't sign a contract extension Bremer goes Liverpool and becomes the player that they found from no one and became the superhero. Now with him potentially going to United, it's like okay, how does this work? Now you've got him, you got Cunya, how does the seasoning make the Stu nice? But he's a top player and I yeah I like your shot because you then you have Dean Hoysen and Zabani, that youngest partnership. in in the Premier League at defence, rocking their black gloves and short sleeves, looking up all the defences, chill guys. There's that. I I love the partnerships, even if you look at PSG as well. Uh-huh. If you look at Usman's obviously leading the line, but you've got Do a And Cravodona linking up. I just love the fact that Cravodona. Look at look at Napoli. Scott McTominay Scott. That was my that was my Scott Bros. Because you mentioned like duos. I was thinking Billy Gilmore and Scott McTominay just go into Napole And the thing is. This I am in the restaurant of regret. I am ordering humble pie. No, you're ordering a little sp spaghetti. That's what I'm gonna do. I'm ordering spaghetti with humble pie and crow and I'm signing an apology form. Wow because this is phenomenal. There's a lot of humble power. Phenomenal game, bro. You I I was one of your more vocal critics, and I wholehandedly put both of my hands up and go, I am sorry, you've turned me into one of your biggest fans. I am my own. And he's just chilling up, having a fag, celebrating. I love that. You know what? This is tremendous. But you know what, hit this bit and send it to me. Right, Scott, the thing about Scott McTominay is that I think he would actually listen to that. Oh, that's all right man. Yeah, I mean it like it wasn't really putting out. That's all right, man. That's cool. But like his his season has been unbelievable. Like genuinely unbelievable. I was gonna say, like it he I think he has also fallen victim of people not watching so much football outside the Premier League or outside their club because he's been amazing since he went. It was almost instantaneous. It's different, but it was kind of similar to when Jude went to Real Madrid because he was scoring a load and as a midfielder and everyone's just like, Who the fuck have we signed? Like who is this guy? Yeah. And I think there's something really he was my highlight because There's something really amazing, um about just finding your place in football. Finding like you know, there's why there's a reason why a load of people don't leave Seville. You know what I mean? It's just like if people go back to Betis or they go back to Sevilla and they stay there and they love it because it's like It's a or or people stay at Rails Docidad or Athletic Club for their entire career because this like a place. And he met the Pope. He met the Pope and the Pope was started. And I love I love the way that the fans have falling in the case. But there are a few places, there are a few clubs that I think that celebrate those kind of cult heroes like that. Mm-hmm. Like Napoli. And especially because They're not uh Because they won the title a couple of years ago and they had that amazing team. Don't think anyone expected them to follow up another scadetto like Conta's got to take a lot of credit for picking out them two. You can see that Billy Gilmore could play You know what I mean? I remember his debut against Liverpool, Chelsea, it was unbelievable. And then You look at Scott McTominay, especially towards the end, man, what what we saw was somebody that can break into the box and finish. We saw it on a regular basis for Scotland. And so it's just a shame that, you know, uh the way Man United are up in it, they've they've obviously they've lost out on a Top player. On on Billy Gomor there's an amazing bit I think in the um The game not too long ago. I can't remember which game it was, but b Billy Gilmore was Uh he had a shot and the commentators said, Oh, there's a shot from Napoli and it's Billy Gilmore. Do you know what I mean? My favorite thing about the Scott McTomney story is You often hear players talk about how you need a coach to put their hand around your shoulder and just believe in you, and then you can believe in yourself. Conte always does that with certain individuals that he knows that represent him on the pitch. But the reason why I love this Scott McTomney one is because I've always known he can score goals. There's that famous story of him being an attacking player, then he grew too tall in the academy. This guy started taking free kicks. This guy started scoring basketbicks. He said acting really different. And I was like, You know what? I'm here for it. Sometimes all you need to do is go to another country, grow your hair out, change your name a little bit, and become a new person. It's amazing. And also just a a quick uh while I'm on Napoli, just a shout for Rom Lou Lukaku. Yeah. Who I think a lot of people were really worried about. Especially after the Roma stint. And Again, going to Napoli. Like Conte just Conte loves just picking up the phone and being like Are you in? And I said it's like they're doing a heist. Yeah. I think it's nice for like players that have had a really tough time at a club and almost you can see their confidence or their love of the game almost being broken. And Going abroad, away like you said, people don't watch the um people are so obsessed with the Premier League, they probably don't watch other leagues as much. And you kinda go away into the shadows and really enjoy yourself and find your love of football and be in a community that it's almost a blessing that you don't understand the language 'cause you're gonna kinda have the best time of your life and not know any different than what anyone's saying about you. And I think that's almost the blessing that comes with just having the right people around you and I find United as a club kinda that manager analogy use, you know, if you go if you're a Chelsea manager for a while, it's kinda be like, Oh yeah, Chelsea, you know, doesn't matter. I feel like Later United right now it's very much like It was United, it's okay, don't worry, it wasn't. We'll forgive you. We'll forgive you. It happens gradually. You need one place to go somewhere else. Well sure highlight. You haven't done it. You know I'm gonna go with um uh um Adamola Lookman. winning the African Player of the Year. In respect of Man's journey. I remember right, remember that time. What game was it when he when he took that picture tried to chip it down? He tried to fill it. I remember him from I remember him from Chowton. Yeah, but he he because he was everyone had him down as one of the next generation of England top players. Top top players and you know, then it didn't work out. Was it ten million or something to ever And then in moving all over the place in you know, the journey from loan to this then I think that's one of the most devastating performances I've seen in any final with that at Chikotti scored. But then for Patrick against a unbeaten. They won the double unbeaten. You know, it's just I can't help but look at he's dark moment where it would have been dark for him. You know, especially all those loans kind of kinda and you know what? He never had no problem going wherever he needed to go to. to find it and then obviously like you say you find your place. Like Scott McTomini's found like he's found with Atlanta. I hope I I I hope we can buy him Arsenal. I love the murder man. You know what I mean I don't know where that's where you go in the place and I would love for someone like him you know to come back to the I'd like to come back to the Premier League and say, listen, I had unfinished business there, so I'm gonna come and help Arsenal win the league. But like I just admire His um his journey and now is recognized rightly as Oh my gosh. So he's amazing. So he's in like the bits and that with all the locals and all the arties and did he have security. Yeah, yeah, of course. But um the reason why um reason why I really like the Adam Moon one is because even before he got into the pro game he's someone that deals a lot. Like I grew up with him and There's so many clubs that didn't take him 'cause they were like, You're too small. Yes. You're way too small. You're way too small. I can't be based to do that. And he's he he he literally stumbled into Charlotte. He was still playing the Sunday League and then from there just went on to become um the Skull of the Year and then the rest was history from there. Unbelievable. Even to get into the pro game. Similarly that to Ez, like having to stumble your way into the I love an interview with Adamola. Yeah. I'd I'd I'd start it with uh this is all part of the plan, yeah. It will happen. It will happen. But I think I think we we we just talked about the young players and the journey that they go on and how they're breaking through And there's a lot of pressure, but I actually think he's a prime example and McTominay of you know how people talk about the number of lives they live generally, just no you know, outside of being fresh footballers, but he's someone who is on his kind of third footballing life and that's where he's hit his peak. And I think it just shows that even for some of those young players who are breaking through now They might feel like everything's coming, you know, so early and how can I continue this journey but actually I think he's proved that If you have a few setbacks, you can come back in your second, third life. Progress isn't linear. Yeah. How old is um They're both twenty seven and twenty eight. They're peaking when they should. That's the irony. I think we're so used to seeing. This is the blame broke through the Juventus Academy. This is a player who was racially abused several times while playing for UN. This is a player that Chi Lini. Deep. protected and looked after. I once uh had a chat with him and I said, What was it like breaking up U Vents Academy? He goes, Oh, well, you have to prove yourself. So very early on and not make Ciolini. I went, Oh, what did Ciolini do next? And then he looked at me put his foot on the table and then dropped his sock and there was a scar on his ankle when he goes that's what he did to me. But ever since then we've been like this. Yeah. This is a player who Moved to Everton and Everton's director of football held his shirt and then talked to Keens Moyza Khan's mother and said, We're gonna look after you. And then he was a substitute that got substituted in twenty nineteen. Right? He gets put on loan out to PSG, schools a goal, you got is is it ever gonna work out? This is one of the best strikers in Serial last season, right? He's in Florentina now and he is Again, you don't It doesn't depend on happen before the age of the case. It depends on how much patience and how much I move that as well. He dropped an album during the season as well. This is why I like this generation of guys. He dropped the album. When are we getting more Alex A Wobi music? That's what I want to know. When are we getting the next Alex Alexander? He said he's still on it. He said I just flooded. Well he might drop an album during the summer. title racing. It's for it. Vitina was playing at Wolfhampton Wanderers. I love saying that to people. I love saying that to because they say V Tina and that and if they know and I say Yeah he was at Wolverhampton. He went what Yeah man. He was at he was at wolves. Bro, you look at him and you think just even like us like I say, that goal what he's set up for for doing his like second goal. Um Where he came from. You just think you watch that guy every day in training. Why why would you not find a way to make that guy work in your team? Football is figuring out just crazy. It's nice. It's wonderful. You've connected the dots. This is this is this is all coming together. This is I love this. Unbelievable. Someone I hope who's gonna have his Lookman moment this season or this coming season for QPR is I don't know if people remember Karamoko Dembele. Wow. Who broke out at Celtic as a fifteen year old and had that treatment of this amazing young player and was tiny and still is really small. And that I think ultimately physically ended up holding him back. He went and played in France. Poped up at QPR. Last season. Started the season really well, got a really bad injury, which was a huge shame. But someone who has so much potential. If he could Have a moment with a club and really show how talented he is, because it's that individual technical ability where like actually your size doesn't matter in these scenarios, but you've been written off clearly. and you became this next gen star and there was all the press and the attention and it's I it must be so hard to then feel like do I actually make it as a footballer. Yeah, and I feel when you only speak about footballers finding their moment. Think about so many of them that don't ever find their place or find their space in football life. I guess on the theme of players are kinda having a resurgent and you're kinda enjoying their moment, um, away from Premier League, I really I'm so happy for Chloe Kelly. Yes. Well done, Chloe. Well done. She had to get up, man. Yes. And she had to say um. You need to pick up the phone and to where you speak to at Arsenal. And make them happy. Her and the Tollington is probably gonna shout for the happiest a footballer has ever been. Ever been like genuinely ever. She is just If you could bottle up her feeling and just give it out to me, but I think it would be a great place for it now. But I think that actually is the thread that probably runs through every single highlight that everyone has hold up, which is like proving people wrong. Whether it's underdogs winning things, whether it's people coming back. from low moments in their careers or Scott McTominay celebrating just like Chloe Kelly was celebrating. I think it's been that season Arnest and Sonia Bumpel store proving people wrong, replacing legends. Been that kinda season, guys. What a beautiful journey some of these people have had this season. It's just unfortunate that my team didn't finish up the top because I can't really be happy for anybody else deep down. I can't I'll give it to them. I'll give you know what? I'm happy. Yeah. Happy for Palace. Happy for Sun. Happy for us. In in in you know, individually I'm happy but I can't be Spurs. I'm happy and Sp when I went to the um the finals when I was in Spurs fans were you thought I was an ex Spurs fans. Right, right, I went. But what else did they say? Was it you said it on writers like, oh, you just come to see a final. Yeah, dude. You need to see a final movie. It's easy to work. That's good call. The worst final I've ever seen. But at the same time, he's got it. He could say that to me because I'm walking there. And I went across with with Thomas Tuchel and you know Mark Bullingham and Mr. Dean and everyone. You know what I mean? That is Oceans Eleven, isn't it? Right. We went up. We went across and it was, honestly, you know, it was unbelievable. What side were you sat on? W in respect to the game. Yeah. No, because it's I didn't I won't sit on any side. At the same time. I want I wanted Ange to have the moment of actually winning something. You're speaking to narrative and I feel like This season. all the narratives we would have wanted to work out. Worked out. Worked out, you're right. Yes. Yes. Arsenal Chloe Kelly, yes. Wow. They've still got European footballer. It feels like when I was younger, like I wanted I wanted those trainers but my mum bought the plint cells. So they still work. They still work but it's not the man in a second. Years down the line you look back and you're like, you know what, I'm glad my mum even got me. I'm glad she got them, but at the time it was Bunny Crying on the way to man, you have to hire it, hide. And every time I look down w with the your step one step to it, and I saw the plump so Dude, I literally just looked down to type something and came back. I was like Am I in a different place? I just don't think we could stop talking 'cause that was supposed to be like a M type of wrapper. Yeah, but Ryan could cut all that, man. So good season. It's been a long season. Yeah, good season. A lot of um a lot of positives to take from the season. And like you said, Flo, we all found something where somebody had a very tough journey and then the end they got they they got their just rewards. And Flo got to mention QPR again. And you know, I'm looking out for him now. I'm gonna look out for him next season. Dembele, yeah. Dembele. Okay. So we're done. We're done. Done for the season. What can I say? Thanks for coming in. I'm only left to thank. Jeanette Quadi. Flow Lloyd Us. Vidu. Moyel Kodji, Karl Anker, and Ryan Hunt. Thank you very much for coming in. It was such a wonderful surprise. You love coming in. No, thank you. Thank you for coming. You know, it's such a lovely surprise coming in because I felt like a little bit late, but then when I saw your face, it felt beautiful. It was good that you were late actually. It helped. It's really good. So thank you very much, guys, and thanks for listening, everybody. Um see you next season. That's all I'm gonna say, right? I'm gonna say it then. See you next season for more fun. Bye bye, everybody.
