Our own app: a smart, independent player that lives entirely on open feeds.

Full disclosure first: Podtastic is the app behind this campaign, and we're listing ourselves alongside 25 others on purpose. The point of Save Open Podcasting isn't to win listeners to Podtastic; it's to keep podcasting open enough that you get to choose your app at all. If that ends up being one of the others in this directory, that's a win for open podcasting either way.
What Podtastic is
Podtastic is an independent, subscription-funded podcast player for iOS and Android, built on open RSS feeds and nothing else. There are no proprietary catalogues, no walled-garden exclusives, and no server-side content shaping. Every episode you hear comes from the same RSS your app of choice would pull. Everything OPML-exports if you want to leave for another player, and your subscription list is portable the moment you decide it is.
Two feature groups
We ship two named feature groups.
Smart Features is the AI side. Smart Summaries give you every episode's summary before you hit play. Smart Topics surface the recurring themes across shows you follow, so you can jump to what actually interests you in a two-hour interview. Smart Skip learns from what other listeners tap past to move you over the parts of an episode most people don't want to sit through, with a single-tap on-demand skip on lock screen, CarPlay and AirPods for when you want to skip manually.
Audio Enhancements is the deterministic DSP side, not AI. Skip Silence trims dead air from spoken word without pitch-shifting the voices, and Enhance Voices applies a broadcast-EQ-and-compression preset that keeps quiet speech clear at low volume. Both work offline once an episode is downloaded.
Business model
Free trial, then subscription. Podtastic is not funded by advertising, so we have no incentive to serve you what a sponsor wants over what you actually searched for. That's the tradeoff: if paying suits you, we're the answer; if it doesn't, one of the free open-source players in this directory (AntennaPod, Podverse, Podcini, gPodder) will meet you where you are.
Where to get it
App Store, Google Play, and podtastic.app on the web.
