Hello everybody, how y'all? Get your dancing shoes on and welcome to the Camel Rock and Roll Dance Party! Hello and welcome back to a Wasteland story. It is 2025, it's January. I've been overseas. I've I'm back now and getting back into my regular writing schedule. However, it does mean that I'm only about halfway through the next episode. And it's good. Susco 8 and Dogmeat are just about to get into some serious trouble. I hope to have that finished certainly this month. Uh with in the next well, in the next couple of weeks. Has to be in the next couple of weeks if it's it is to be this month. In the meantime, though, I just wanted to give you something in case you missed it over on the YouTube channel. I recently played uh a co-op session using Mythic of Fallout 2D20 with Thomas Playsboard games. With board games with Thomas. And it was a really fun experience. It was the first time I'd played anything cooperatively. I have since done a little bit more of that over the Christmas period with my son. And it's a really nice way to play and coming from that solo aspect I think is is really really helpful. So you may have seen it over there on YouTube on his channel. If not, I'm just gonna give you the audio here. I'm not gonna do lots of editing. I'm not gonna put too much time into it because I want to spend that time today writing for the main episode. However, it may be of interest to you, A, as an example of how you can play cooperatively using Mythic, and B , this was a trial run for me testing the character who is going to be one of the main characters in season two of the show. Now, as most of you know, I've already finished playing all of the first season of the show, and that's still a little while for you guys because there's all sorts of writing and mixing to do before then. But I the story is finished for season one. It was a cracker. I'm really excited to see where it goes next, and it's gonna start in the slightly different point with a new character. So no spoilers outside of that, other than I rolled up this character who I have in mind with Thomas to try him out. Now this won't be canon what I'm doing with Thomas. It's in a different timeline, different part of the country, but it was just kind of testing out that that character. So a bit of a sneak preview of the character who's going to be important to the story in season two , a little bit of an idea of how you can play cooperatively. And I am getting back to writing and I'm gonna get this next episode out as soon as I can because I can't wait to see what happens. That's it from me. All the usual stuff. Um thank you for listening. You can reach me at wastelandstorypodcast at gmail.com. You can find me as PJSack both on Blue Sky and on Reddit in the solo roleplayers forums. Other than that, I have some more announcements coming, but they're not ready yet. You can check out the solo roleplayers podcast if you haven't heard that. That's where I interview content creators who inspired me to get playing and do some actual pla ys, like one-shot, get a book off my shelf and just play it type thing over there on that channel. I hope you enjoy this. And so without further ado, I'm gonna drop in the audio here from playing with Thomas Fallout 2D20 cooperatively with Mythic. Enjoy . Hello everybody, I'm Thomas and welcome back to another video. This time I am back with doing something a little bit different where I will be doing a collaborative Fallout playthrough on the Fallout 2D20 system using Mythic as a game master emul ator with the one and only PJ Sack. Thanks for having me. This is really exciting. I've never played Fallout cooperatively. I've never played any RPG online. And I'm glad you could be here and uh hopefully it's a good time. Hopefully Mythic doesn't throw too many curveballs at us, or at least ones that'll kill us, and hopefully Foundry is is a good experience for you. But I think it should be pretty fun. I guess we do we want to discuss a little bit about our characters? You want you want to go through your character first, give a brief overview. You don't have to go too in-depth or however much you want to go in depth with. Sure. So I rolled up this character just the other day. Um maybe for a little bit of of background for people because it's kind of relevant. But I do a uh not not to go straight into self-promotion. But um I do another podcast where I do like an actual play of Fallout 2D20. And when you, Thomas, asked me to come play with you, I thought this is a perfect opportunity to roll up someone who's gonna be a really important character in that story in the future. And so I thought I'm gonna test out this character. And so I did have I'm not gonna tell, give too much information for who it is gonna be, because that's a spoiler. Um but in terms of this it'll work out well. The timelines don't match up, but I don't think that's going to be an issue. So this character is completely shamelessly um stolen from the cover of the Wanderer's Guide Guide book. And so this is is pretty much for anyone who's played Metal Gear Solid, he's pretty much an old snake. So like he's really battle hardened, grizzled, uh, he's not the most agile anym ore because he's probably in his his fifties or something, I don't know, which I guess is pretty old by wasteland standards. And he is a Brotherhood of Steel Outcast, which is also one of the new backgrounds from um from the Wanderer's Guide. And that means that he has all of the sort of skills associated with the Brotherhood of Steel, except that uh he's a deserter, essentially, and if he were to come across any Brotherhood of Steel members, they aren't likely to take kindly to him at all. He had different ideological beliefs than the Brotherhood. Although he's still he knows a lot about old technology, he's very intelligent, reasonably strong, um, good with energy weapons, having all the Brotherhood of Steel training, but he didn't agree with the whole land in, don't ask questions, kill anyone who doesn't support the Brotherhood cause, and so one way or another managed to get out of the Brotherhood and is out on his own trying to live and sc rape by as best he can. I like it. Yeah. And his name, by the way, which is also important, is Jah Red. Not at all a Ja head reference. And he has some perks. He's got a laser rifle. I've never used energy weapons before really, but I've always been interested to. He's he's good at repairing as well. He likes modding stuff. Science is his strongest suit as well. And fittingly, I then chose the perk Nerd Rage, which I just love the picture of in the book as well, and that means when he gets down to a quarter of his hit points, he gains extra damage resistance and gains extra damage . So he's going to be fighting tooth and nail to the end and hopefully be able to pull through at the last minute. And he's working for this caravan that you're going to explain at some stage. Any moment , I'm sure. Yeah. I like that character a lot. I'm very curious to see how our characters will get along. Because I will be playing this character I created called Kenny, who goes by the K-Man, who I described as he's like a sleazy carman, like car salesman kind of character. He's a fast-talking, kind of loud-mouthed, lying , swind or that's like a traitor that grew up in Diamond Cities. He was around people a lot, maybe was in like some gang type stuff. Nothing too crazy, but you know, doing some illicit uh dealings and whatnot. And now um is out joining a caravan company. Uh he is incredibly charismatic, um pretty agile. Mainly he's good with a a small guns. He has a modified ten millimeter pistol on his one hip. Not very strong, not very uh tough, but uh he's some intelligence in some walk. Uh to fit his kind of character, I gave him the perks for inspirational. He's just a very great talker that sometimes he can even motivate people. He's got the quick hands perk because he's good with his 10 millimeter. He's got the junk town jerky vendor perks because he's good at selling stuff , and the scoundrel and smooth talker perks because he's good at talking and lying, and that's that's kind of his main thing. That's cool. So there's gonna be a little bit of a difference of bit of a difference of experience like life experience level. He's a young guy you said, right? Yeah, I think I have him in his like early 30s. So he's not too young, but he's definitely on the younger side. And I think he's probably he grew up in Diamond City, so he probably hasn't left the city proper much. So maybe this is like one of his first real kind of experiences going out and traversing the wasteland a bit. Can I call on you for a our first mythic fate check of the day. Absolutely. And I want to know if um I mean the these two have been thrown together for work, essentially, right? I mean they've joined this caravan. Mm-hmm. Although your guy, although Kenny is super is really charismatic and stuff, I want to know with uh Jared's life experience if he is buying Kenny's shtick . So you can make that as as likely as you want based on your on your things or if you want to do a I don't know. Um what is it? Con what is it? Uh speech role or something like that. I don't know. But I think that might be fun just to help me figure out um Jarred's attitude towards Kenny. Okay. Yeah, I like that. Um I don't know. It feels more appropriate doing like an actual like maybe like an opposed role or something. I don't know. Okay. Yeah yeah, let's do it. Hook up the dice. So I'll just do a speech check, I guess, and see how that goes, see how charismatic I am and compelling you. Now t explain to me how opposed rolls work again. I roll and that gives you your target number, right? Oh wait, do you roll first? Well I mean it could be after as well. I also haven't done an opposed roll. I don't run into them too often, so I'd have to re look that up real If I remember correctly, it's that I roll on the same or on on a relevant skill, and then how many successes I get is what the difficulty is for you to beat it.. Okay Yeah, we can I'll just erase my role. Yeah. And if not, we can we can play it that way anyway, because you know. I'm I'm fine for changing the rules, but it makes sense to be quick. Okay, so tell me what I have to do. I need to hit a button Yes, so if you pull up your abilities, if you're just doing like a speech check, there's the abilities tab, you just click on speech, and it should pull up a little dialogue window with how many dice you want to roll and it should have everything filled in so you should just be able to roll. So I've op I've opened my character sheet up here. Are people seeing this or are they only seeing your screen, I assume? They're only seeing my perspective. Okay, I could pull up your character sheet though, at least uh show it off. You can do that while I figure out how it works. Uh and you said I need to click on the relevant skill. What do you think this is gonna be? Is this gonna be is it also gonna be speech? That doesn't make sense to me that I'm trying to figure out how you know, like if he if he is convinced by you or not. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I don't uh it does speech doesn't fit great, but I don't know what else would fit better . Speech or barter maybe. It doesn't matter, I'm not good at either of them. Let's just go speech. So if I click that, I see now I can roll two dice. Attribute five and so I just roll. Are you ready? Oh I'm ready. I have rolled and I have a complication. Okay. So I mean unless you fail as well . Could happen. Let's see, and then we'll we'll figure out what what the setup is . So I rolled a three and an eleven. The three got me a critical, so that's three successes. So you know zero? So desp zero plus a complication. So not only so despite Jared's experience um and he would like to think of himself as someone who isn't swept up by someone's charisma or smooth talkingness. But despite that, he can't really help himself, and maybe Kenny sort of reminds him of when he was young or something like that. There's a certain ambition in there. And so because of the complication, I'm gonna say not only does he buy into Kenny's charisma, but to a fault. To a point where in general, even if uh his better judgment would would go against what Kenny wants to do, um, I think he's gonna be a bit gullible for some reason when it comes to Kenny. How does that sound? That sounds good to me. Okay . I think I think that'll work well with Kenny. I just some I wrote up some extra traits and like some other little quick traits about him is that Kenny's also somewhat stubborn and slightly impatient. So I think that works well that if like you're just kind of going with whatever he says, I think that'll get on kind of his good side. He might get us in trouble, yeah. It doesn't quite go with the the grizzled, take no nonsense , um old snake character, but that's alright. I I I'm okay with him having a weakness there to Kenny. Maybe he wants to take him under his wing somehow and sort of um you know be a bit of a mentor for him. Okay. I like that . Alright, well, okay, we got our characters figured out. So um for people that have seen my previous playthrough, we're gonna be kind of in the same setting as Lilith and VRAM's previous adventures. So we'll have uh the Silver Line Silverline Caravan Company is the caravan company that we're working for, uh which I have a little description for, which I'll quickly read is that the Silver Line Caravan Company is one of the largest and most most well-armed merchant groups in the wasteland. Their caravans travel extensively, they have a vested interest in maintaining peaceful trade routes. Um, and then my previous character Lilith has ensured safe passage through the Neon Marauder territory in exchange for a cut of their profits and first pick of their goods. So even though like the Neon Marauders, they're a raiding group and they are feuding with other raiding groups . Like the caravan company seems to remain pretty neutral with most people and they work out deals to kind of I don't know have peace a peaceful passage through certain areas . Cool, cool. Um and then I have two little NPCs for the caravan company. So I have Isabel Bella Marquise. She just goes by Bella, and that's the astute and daring leader of the Silverland Caravan Company. Uh known for her business acumen, and ability to navigate the dangerous trade routes of the wasteland. Her leadership has expanded company's reach, making it a dominant force in the Commonwealth's economy. And then there is the other guy named Dusty Rhodes, who just goes by Dusty, is the chief security officer for the caravan company, a former mercenary with a keen strategic mind. Dusty is responsible for planning the routes and ensuring the safety of the caravans against raiders, mutants, and other threats. His experience and vigilance have saved the company from numerous ambushes. Excellent. Besides, I mean that's the main kind of that's the main faction and NPCs, but there's also Uh can I add to the either to the thread probably to the NPC list or the character list rather um in case we get a random event that maybe there's a Brotherhood of Steel encounter. Which for Jared would be tricky. Okay. So I'll just add like what, just Brotherhood of Steel to the character that 's exactly yeah. 'Cause it does say in the character background it says um a lot of people who desert, they take out their knowledge and they maybe go in their own sort of um you know, out with their own purpose. But they're always o they're always looking over their shoulder or listening out for the sound of a vertebird. Sounds good. Um alright, is there any other real stuff we need to talk about? I feel pretty set up. I feel pretty prepared to find out what our job is. Is that what we're doing? Getting a job and going from A to B? Yeah, that's I kind of didn't determine that beforehand. I figured that's something we could figure out now. So um yeah, right now we're I I kind of envisioned us starting in South Boston. Forget to kind of why here in a second, but um I imagine boss uh the uh uh Diamond City is kind of the heart of the wasteland. So I imagine that's where we're kind of the caravan company is stationed out of, and then they have routes kind of just spreading out from Diamond City, so yeah, I don't know. We can say maybe we're new hires that got given maybe like a crappier route, or maybe this is a new route that we're just testing the waters for. We can kind of make it whatever. I wanted to leave that kind of open-ended for us to figure out now Cool. Do you want to? H here's my suggestion. Let's see if we can roll up a destination. I noticed there are like there are numbers on screen anyway for some of the other locations. Yeah. Are there enough numbers to roll like a D20 and sort of or how many or figure out how many they are maybe and just figure out where the destination might be? And then maybe we can just ask Mythic um or get some some meaning, like ask the meaning chart or whatever, and see if we can figure out together what the job is. I like that. So I see I see one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine locations at the top of the screen, is that correct? Or is there more? Looks like it. I mean there's a good amount, but at least numbered ones, yeah. It looks like yeah. So yeah, one just roll like a d ten and then maybe re-roll if it's something that doesn't work. Let's do that. Nine is what was rolled. Now if we're looking at the same thing, I would say that's South Bost on. I'm looking at the titles up the top of the screen. Oh, okay. But obviously there are more locations than that. Right. Okay. Yeah, no, I figured we were already in South Boston. I thought you were looking at like the numbered locations at the top. Um I mean that works. I mean it it's destiny, you know. I wanted to start in South Boston, and that's what the dice said. So um I mean we could just use that role and maybe because I was just looking at like the numbered locations on the map. Is there a nine? There is a nine. There is a nine. Fully. Yeah. That sounds as good a place as any, especially for a relatively crappy beginner job, to go and pick up some dried fish. I don't know if there's still if there's still fishing up there, but maybe. Yeah. Okay. I like it. That's gonna be yeah, that that's gonna kinda work perfect. We're kinda wanna start this because yeah, and also like the way on the right, like the castle, the number 11 spot, like that's where the neon marauders like headquarters are, so that's where I remember Willis kind of been uh stationed out of so that this could be kind of fun. Maybe they're the the factions cr paths will cross. Who knows? That's where you have the the big standoff or the what's the uh the faction called? Um in the game. Anyway, you go and defend the castle from all the all the Mileurks or something. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I seem to remember. Yeah. Okay, so we are on so should we s we I guess we can maybe ask Mythic this. Do we want to say, do we want to make this like uh are we establishing a new trade route or are we just kind of I don't know, testing the waters with something else that already exists? Do you have a pressure? Yeah, let's see Mythic. Okay, let's do it. Um so I'll just ask Mythic, is this a new trade route we are establishing? Um we think the likelihood is unsure? Likely? Um, give it a fifty-fifty. It's either I mean if it's a new one or it's uh an established thing that we just need to pick something up or drop something off at. Sounds good. Just barely. Forty nine. So yes. New trade route, forging new grounds. Maybe we can if we want to add some like extra detail, like maybe we can figure out why we're doing this all of a sudden? Is there a fish shortage? Was there some something blocking this route? Is there some another presence in the area that didn't let this caravan company come through? Great. Let's ask why. What do you think would be the best table for that? Actions, descriptions? Um if in doubt I just use the the main like the core meaning table. I try not to flick too much. Mm-hmm. But it's easier here, you've got it all in the in the computer, so whatever you think. Right. Um core media. Let's do let's do actions. Let's just see what that rolls up. Normally it rolls it up in pairs, so but I always take this with a grain of salt. But yeah, I think it gives us something to start with. So the two words are separate, separate suffering. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Maybe there was I mean, we're doing it for a job, right? We're not necessarily doing it for the company. Someone has hired the caravan to create this new route. Mm-hmm. And they are telling us at least that it's because they need to I guess set up a a trade route for um for food goods. I don't know if fish are a big thing anymore, I guess so. I I couldn't answer that. I would think so. And maybe that's like part of the thing is like maybe because we're in the Boston region, there's like rivers that flow through, but maybe like the rivers are getting so polluted that previous fishing spots are becoming not as accessible and so now they have to outsource to this place. And I guess I mean I don't know my American uh geography is is rusty at best. But if we're looking at all these other rivers and stuff uh around where we are, that would obviously be more easily contaminated than the lar ger body of water that is up to the northeast, right? Mm-hmm. Where the fishing place is. Yeah. Okay. That sounds good to me. Can I can I prompt another question from mythic? And this is uh not one that our characters know, but whoever's hiring us, are they lying? Is there some other reason or motivation? I can choose. I mean I feel like the caravan company is you know pr is pretty stable, but maybe there's a reason. Maybe they do you know some shitty deals. I mean someone hired us, right? Someone hired the company. Is the the client are they lying? Like they've told us it's to to reestablish um trade for food or re or supplies. Um but are they lying? I mean we're just doing the job. That's a good point. So does likely sound good? I mean I mean I don't know. Is is everyone likely to be lying in fallout? Yeah, probably. Alright, we'll go with likely. Let's see. So is there an ar ulterior motive behind us getting sent here? No . No. Oh, well. There you go. Trustworthy client. Surely that won't that won't turn bad at some point, but I think it'll be okay. Can I ask one follow-up um establishing question? Yeah. Do is there likely to be or is there opposition to the client setting up this trade route. Yeah, I guess we don't even ask Mythic for sure. Um I feel like maybe that's unlikely or unsure. I mean what do you think? 'Cause if this is on the fishing route that has no un ulterior motive, surely. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Call it unlikely then. Unlikely. Okay, so let's see. Is there opposition? I mean, this is the waste lands. We're always gonna have issues to run into, but um no. Okay. Straight clean job. Establish the route, make sure it's safe enough, and make contact with whoever is at what's it called? Four leaf fish packing plant. Yeah. Jarred is ready to hit the road. Okay . So I guess we'll we'll start with scene one. Um I if I ping on the map, do you see kind of where that okay, perfect. I just want to make sure. So we'll scale say that maybe we start near the mass pike tunnel east and I'll kind of give some flavor for setting this first scene. And I if we want I mean I don't for the first scene, I normally don't do like a scene alteration, but that's up to you if you think that's necessary or not. No, let's just get started, I think. Okay. It's a straightforward job. Jared's experienced at least in the wasteland. Taking Kenny under his wing. Yeah, I don't uh Kenny doesn't know what he's doing yet, but he he knows his he's some knowledge, but just not wasteland knowledge, so right, 'cause in Diamond City he can talk out of his like talk his way out of things much more likely. Because it's uh you know settled, you know, less dangerous place inside those walls. So he might be in for a rude shock when he can't talk his way out of a a supermutant attack. Yeah, d I love that idea. It's just like super meteors just grabbing him. He's just trying to blabber and trying to talk his way out of it. That's all he knows how to do. Let's make a deal. Okay. Well, let's so I think I picked out like a date and time just to kind of give us an idea of when slash where and I did not paste it. Um I have it I think in a notepad. Give me one second. Very professional of me . So we'll start with scene one will be I say I always use months from I like because I like tracking like we know what season it is but I don't like I don't like tracking the month specifically so I would just use like summer four is the current date like I don't know I like keeping track of that but not too much so that's that's kind of my way of doing it just to give a rough idea of what time of year it is here. Makes sense. So we'll start as summer four. It's cloudy out so the weather's not too bad. We'll start in the evening and say it's like 6 p.m. And yeah, we'll say that Kenny and Ja I don't want to call you you've been saying Jarhead, I almost called Jared . So Kenny and Jared are making their way along this uh highway here near the Mass Pike Tunnel East. And in the distance, there is a radio tower on a hill, and up from that radio tower we hear blasts of laser rifles with sounds like a robot just exploding. We can kind of since it's start getting dark out we can see like the bright lights flashing on top of the hill, but it's pretty far in the distance, so we can't make out any details, but we can kind of hear it and see it. Kenny just shakes his head. He's like I'm not trying to get involved in that. How far away are we? Like how long would it take us to get there? We'll say it's probably like half mile to a mile. So it's I don't know what that means, but um two kilometer. Okay. Something like that. So it within distance that we could like see the lights from like the the laser weapons they're using and kind of hear it, but you can't see any like real details or anything. It's kinda up also on a hill, so it's like you know maybe a little bit further away, but it's also like the hill. Yeah. But we can't just run in and try and save the day. Not that we would necessarily try to anyway. I don't think so. No. So in this situation, seeing the lasers, Shared is um he's not particularly bothered, but he is a little skeptical because whenever he sees laser fire, there's always a risk that it is the Brotherhood. And so he is a little wary. Uh and in this situations like this is often torn between maybe um being able to collect some junk so he can get back to his crafting or just leaving it be. And so just continuing along the way. He also was a little like he had suggested that we should probably wait until morning to leave, and Kenny had said, no no, it's great, let's get a head start, I wanna be back in time for you know whatever. And against his better judgment he said, Okay, yeah, well, let's go then. Yeah, 'cause probably traveling at evening and at night is not the best idea. So we're either gonna have to like make camp for the night or make this trip quick. Oh it's low the most spry. My knees don't aren't as good as they used to be. Kenny's knees have hardly been used, he's been sitting most of his life. A sheltered city. Cool, cool. Do you want to roll for a random encounter, perhaps? Or do you have an idea of what's gonna happen now? I have zero idea what's uh I just wanted to set that up so we can yeah , we can maybe ask Mythic if there's a random encounter and then generate that or whatever you want to do that. So we can ask Mythic. I do I mean I've got uh uh a official list of random encounters if you want to use them, if there is one. Okay. Rather than just one, or we can make one up ourselves as well. Mm-hmm . So yeah, our characters are right now passing by this mass pike tunnel east. So it's like a location. There's probably buildings and whatnot. So I think it's definitely likier that here we'd maybe encounter something than just along a random highway a little bit further down the road, so I think it's there's a good chance we we hit something. Mm-hmm. So we should I ask Mythic likely, does that very likely? What do you I mean I think very likely that we encounter something. Okay. Let's do that. Yes. We do . Can you and the sorry do you want me to to roll up on the encounter table in the book? Or do you want to just ask and get uh interpret an encounter uh are the encounters in the book are they all like hostile encounters no not necessarily okay then we could do that I was gonna say we could follow it up with a question to see if they're hostile or not, but if that has both and I'm cool with doing that. Give me then a if you can give me a D20 roll first to see what kind of encounter it is. So that is just an ordinary encounter and then if we do another D20 roll Ha you'll never guess what it is. A fourteen on the random ordinary encounter table is a verde bird deployment. Somewhere a Brotherhood of Steel aircraft flies overhead and then somewhat in the distance descends, dropping off some Brotherhood personnel. They might be a group of soldiers or a couple of soldiers according some scribes. Either way, they clearly have business nearby. That's kinda awesome. Maybe they are getting called into um whatever's happening at the top of the hill here. Yeah, because I mean I mean the the top of the hill is is where Lilith is fighting right now and she is actually fighting like a Brotherhood of Steel soldier. I think it's like a paladin. So that actually works out like really well and it's kind of appropriate that Jaharud was uh worried about a brotherhood because that's what she's fighting up there. Awesome. Love that. Okay, so I think straight away before before they even see uh the Vertebird flying over, which I read, who's who's he's tuned into that sound, you know, and so he heard it coming and had sort of asked Kenny to sort of slow and just maybe make themselves small, you know, like be inconspicuous a little bit as they watch the verde bird fly over. And J ared says something like, ah, I can't get away from these guys, you know. Are they working for you? Well, in one way or another they're always looking for me. They're not specifically looking for me, but if they see me, I haven't gotten out without a fight since I left. But he doesn't really want to talk about his background either, I guess. Kenny will be like, so wait, what what was that? I've can't say I've seen that before. That'll be the Brotherhood, off messing in other people's business as usual. Brotherhood, I haven't heard much I thought they weren't really in this area, but Yeah, they get around. Times are changing. Hmm. Uh now Jared is he obviously doesn't want to encounter the Brotherhood, but on the other hand, um they're a really good source of energy weapon stuff . And I think he has a goal. I think I think part of his story that I'm just making up now. He's a bit of a tinkerer as well. And he's really he really misses his power armor from back in the day. And so he's very slowly and kind of over years at this point collecting bits and pieces to try and put together his like, you know , final project of of his own custom power armor. So he can survive obviously. Okay . Um a quick side tangent question, because just made me think of this. I don't know if you mentioned this earlier. What is John Redd wearing right now? Like what kind of clothes and armor? So against his better judgment, he is wearing old tattered brotherhood fatigues. Uh it's obvious it's obviously not that he feels beholden to them or agrees with them, but they are simply really good quality clothes that give him decent resistance and he lived his whole life in them, basically, and so wearing anything else feels a bit strange to him. Okay It is not the smartest thing necessarily because it does sort of uh it outs he outs himself as as being a deserter in that regard, but still, it just it just feels right to him. Old habits die hard. Exactly. Hopefully not in this case, but you know . Okay . Now I don't know how you andor Kenny are feeling about this situation . Um, I do have one small idea or note. Okay. That maybe it probably would not be Jared's suggestion, but I feel like maybe it could be Kenny's. And that is that um Jarred actually has some pilot piloting skills and has flown vertebirds before. And one has landed. Although we have the we have the the Brahmin with us, don't we? I do have a Brahmin with us, but I can always tie him up. Fly back and come get him if that was the plan. Are we with the whole crew? Is it just out on just us out on this job? I assumed it was just us two and the Brahmin. Okay, cool. I mean I think it's a bad idea, but I also think maybe it's an idea that Kenny could have, which is, hey, that vehicle looks pretty interesting. I I do think. I mean, especially like Kenny's never seen something like that, so I think that would be something he uh he starts like as we're just kinda sitting hunched over and he just like the wheels are turning in his he head. Maybe turns to you is like, hey, wait . Wait, are those things worth something? Well, of course. I mean, no one's allowed uh any no one's allowed to have them apart from the brotherhood, but there's no better way to get around the wasteland and very prized amongst certain circles. If that could get us around quickly, we could finish this job quicker, maybe get a bigger payout. I mean it's definitely a bad idea , according to Jarred, but then again, he is somehow easily influenced by Kenny. And he does have to sort he does have to admit that A , personally, there might be some tech on there that he could uh salvage for his own needs. Maybe some some power armor stuff or some you know control chips or something like that. And B, it would be as a vehicle I was gonna say it'd be an asset to the caravan company, but no, because if they get seen flying around in that um all hell's gonna break loose. But maybe Kenny just runs off towards it and and J Red, despite his warnings, just has to follow. I think yeah, maybe he's like, yeah, starts creeping up towards it. He's like, I just want to get a better look. Hold on. Starts just kind of walking over there. Um, I'm kind of a picturing, like I said, this this radio tower is like up on top of a hill, and there's probably a lot of trees around. I imagine it's like a pretty large hill. So maybe like the radio tower is on one end, and then there's like a clearing on the other end of the hill, like closer to us that it kind of landed. So if we want to try to traverse up the hill to get a look at it, I think that's what Kenny's maybe going towards. How close do you think it landed to the firefight? Um probably a distance away, because I I imagine like that radio tower is kind of covered in like a woo a forested area, so there probably wasn't room. Like I don't know. At least looking at the map, like I'm imagining it's pretty much like directly between the tunnel and the radio tower. So kind of like a nice like halfway between where we are and like where the the radio tower is. Okay . Then we go and suss out what's happening with the verde bird? All right, let's let's start making our way up the hill. Yeah, Kenny just starts creeping along. He's definitely taking he's never seen this and doesn't really know what's going on. So I think when you were saying to like stay down, Kenny definitely takes the advice wisely and he's kind of just trying to stay in the shadows, but he's he's curious. And he wants, you know, wants to make some money, of course. And clearly everyone is is being kept busy currently up at the radio tower. That's true. That's true. So we we take, I don't know, twenty minutes or something to get up there maybe where we saw the Verdebird land. And I guess the question to ask is , was there a brotherhood member left there to guard the landing? Hmm. What I mean, if what would what would that be? What would you think the likelihood? I guess we can ask mythic. So. I mean, my gut feeling is that the likelihood is is maybe slightly unlikely . I don't know like I feel like the Brotherhood go in guns blazing, right? So they land the thing and then all available members go to whatever the fight is but maybe there's a scribe or something left left behind it's maybe unlikely okay that sounds good to me so let's ask nothing. Is there someone guarding the vertebird ? Left empty . Okay . Uh Follow-up question, is there any sort of like security in any way? Is there a I mean I don't know if vertibirds have that sort of thing? Probably not . I got a question. I guess we'll figure out what if once we get close, but I wonder if the keys are in it. If there are keys for it, did they take the keys with them or we have to like hot wire it? Well, we just have to, you know, flip down the um the sun vibe. So yeah. They just keep it stuck tucked up there, yeah. Okay. Should we should we do some maybe I d I guess I was gonna say should we do a sneak check to like approach the vertebird, but I guess if there's no one watching it, if they're kind of I imagine this flight's a little bit away, so they probably had to go a decent amount away where they you would have a decent amount of time to kind of figure stuff out. I think so too. However, there is also the chance that we're not the only ones who saw it land and who think it might be an opportunity. That's a good point. That is a good point. So do we want to do we want to just sneak first or do we want to ask if anyone else might be making their way there? I kinda w I don't know . I can see sneak first. Okay. That's what I sometimes will do is like if I don't have a set target for something, I'll like do the check first and then based on whatever results I get, then I'll ask Mythic, like, you know, if we're super sneaky, then what are the chances we see or we're caught and then we just like bump it down. So it kind of is flexible, but oh yeah. Oh that's a cool way to do it . So should we roll sneak? Yeah. Both of us? Um I think I guess if we do a group test, isn't one of us just rolls one and one of us is the actual . Yeah, that's right. So you do it and I'll s well, you're probably sneakier than me, right? I'm really not sneaky at all. Mm-hmm . Um thematically it makes sense that it should be the worst person sneaking with the help of the other one. That is true. So do you want to try it that way? Yes, I can help and you do the main Do we start with any action points? Sure. Because my sneak is so bad, it's literally a a target of four. So it's probably I'd say it's only one difficulty one, because it is dark. Um, and we're not specifically hiding from anyone just yet. But if we buy a dice and then you assist, that'll give us four dice to roll. And then maybe we have a chance. That sounds good to me. Yeah we'll say maybe we start with just three action points. I don't know that's kind of like half. Even though I do have a perk that's making it so we can have seven instead of six. Oh that's nice. I didn't know that was a perk. Okay, so I'm gonna roll four dice here now on the snake skill. And we get it with a three and everything else a big miss. So worth that ac uh worth spending the money. Yeah. It's down to two action points, but we sneak right up to the vertebird. Okay . So we didn't see anybody outside ? I mean there probably wouldn't be anybody inside, right? Or should we ask that as another mythic question? Well, let's just see if anyone else noticed it, and then maybe the longer we're in there, the more likely it is that they come upon us. Okay. So let's call it f um 5050 if anyone else noticed it. Notice the vertibird, right? Yeah, notice it landed. Okay. Uh so did someone else notice the vertibird landing? It's like no. Must have been pretty stealthy, and maybe it was just like it went right over us, so that's how we hear plus seems like Ja Red's pretty tuned in to listening for him. So Excellent. So let's scavenge it then, shall we? Yeah. Now how do you want to do that ? Um if you want to do like an actual scavenging location, normally there's like a website I use just to kind of speed it up, but I just want to say because there is there's some new scavenging rules in this um Red Rocket Supermutant Camp Warehouse. So if there is a Birdie Bird thing here, we'll just use that. Either we can just ask if there's anything useful or or do some sort of a basic scavenge somehow. So it doesn't look like there's anything brotherhood specific in the scavenging areas . So how shall we do this? Do you wanna check it on your website? Do you just want to um ask like the meaning table if there's anything there or what's there? I think we can use this website. It usually works pretty well . Okay, let's do that. Um so it's just doing pretty much the normal scavenging stuff it just kind of helps automate it. So location scale, I think small is probably right because it gives the example of like a room or truck I'd say is pretty close. Uh location category, military I think checks out. Yep. How much has it been searched? Should we say untouched? I would say untouched because it's a functioning operating brotherhood uh vehicle. Okay, then I can create the location . So that's a sort of the players have to pass a difficulty zero perception plus survival check for doing the scavenging roll. Okay . Perception plus survival. So I'm good at that. I've got survival tagged. Uh, with a total of yeah, so ten tagged for me. Sheez. Okay. Yeah, you can definitely do this. I am not good at searching around for stuff. Yep. So I'll do that, and then at the very least we might get some um some points back. Right, right. I guess I that's something I can help with, right? So you can add an extra dice to whatever you're doing. Absolutely. You can add one extra dice. It also is gonna lead to more chance of complication, but that tends to be fun. So for it. I'll roll three dice. Uh skill is and it's tagged. We get three sixes. So that's two, four, six. That's all we fill up our action points. In fact, because two of them were were crits essentially. I think we probably find something pretty nice here . Yeah. Do you have a table for equipment or something like that? Yeah, so I mean I think how it norm works is then we can spend action points in different categories to generate stuff. So it looks like here we can spend up to two on ammo, four on armor, three on weapons. Okay. I'm interested in ammo. I'm interested in armor specific ally in case there is any um power armor parts. Mm-hmm. And I'm interested in junk. Surprisingly there's no junk in this. They they keep a a tight ship, I guess. Sure, but maybe something that that could be broken down. So I guess anything then is useful to me because I can break stuff down. Okay. So how about we spend like one action point on ammo, two on armor, maybe one on weapons? Mm-hmm. That'll leave us with three still. I think that is a comfortable region to have or comfortable amount to have. I agree. Uh okay. So I'll click scavenge and we find I can post these also like in the foundry chat . Um so we find 10 millimeter ammo and some shotgun shells . There is a power armor frame. Mm-hmm . There is vault Tech armor and heavy combat armor, at least the head, a har ness , two javelins and two Molotov cocktails. Ooh, I like the Molotovs. Yeah, we can always add extra stuff, you know, with the crits like you said, but I think this gives us at least a good kind of starting place for some of the stuff we find. Well I don't know. Do you reckon uh w does does the Brahmin have a name? Is it Bessie? It's always Bessie. Yeah. I I'd like to think it's probably not Kenny's Brahmin. It was just you know it was given from the company for us to use, so Yeah. So Bessie, um do you reckon Bessie can handle a power armor frame strapped to her back? I think it's under you think at least from what I saw, I think Brahmins can hold up to five hundred pounds. Okay Okay. I believe. Interesting. Do we have like a a wagon or something as well, or she's just like strapped up in in leather bags and suitcases and stuff? I think she she just has like like stay a saddle with like stuff piled up on top. But I think I did say that I tied her up before we came up here, so we'd have to kinda go back to get her first or bring the stuff back down to her . Okay, okay . Hmm. Kenny? What's Kenny doing? What's what's Kenny is it what's Kenny doing? What's he think of this whole thing? He's uh I mean he's never really been in it, so I think he's more just kind of in awe of the the machine and he spots some some 10 millim he sees a box of 10 millimeter ammo which is the gun he uses so you like you see him like grabbing the ammo and just kind of stuffing it in his pocket and just looking around and he's like, dang this, this is uh is impressive. I could see how this could be worth pretty penny. And like a kid who gets to see the the cockpit of an aeroplane with all the buttons and switches light up. Yeah. So I'm tempted to I'm tempted to see if we can carry the power armor off and like hide it behind a tree or something with the potential of picking it up later. Okay . And I think since we've been searching for a bit, we should see if anyone I know w we said that no one else saw it, didn't they? Yeah, but if we stay in here longer, we might have to do another role. Yeah. Okay, so let's do that. Let let's let's carry off. Um if we can lift it. Maybe we have to do a strength test. How heavy is power armor? Um I mean I don't know. But I don't it it doesn't look like the kind of thing you can just throw over your shoulder, right? Right. I mean with two people maybe, but we still might need a strength test. Okay . Yeah, so the armor frame is is four and a half thousand pounds. Wait, what really Yeah. Four thousand five hundred pounds weight. So I don't know I don't know what that is in in um in our money, but that seems heavy. That is heavy. Um I don't think that's going anywhere. No, I don't think that's going anywhere. You need some kind of like block and tackle sort of situation. Can I imagine Kenny tries to like help lift it and he's like, yes, this thing isn't budging. Uh just for our Okay, so that's two thousand kilos. Yeah, yeah. Okay. That's not something um That's not something that we can lift. Yeah. It's a bit heavy for Bassie even. Okay. But I'm reasonably happy with some armour um some uh sorry, ammo, some armour. And unless Kenny gets any funny ideas, I think Jared would be pretty ready to go before the Brotherhood come back. Can we ask, rather than having someone necessarily come upon us, we haven't been paying attention because we didn't say we were. Can we ask whether the f the gunfight is still going on up there? Yeah. I think it's probably unlikely. I I feel like especially there was already one paladin and like uh not to get too out of it, but the the fight was over pretty quick. So depending on what point we got there. Um the backup, I don't. But there might have been other people that came, so there might have been more stuff that happened after. So the fight is over. I'm gonna go likely that the maybe go unsure. I'm pretty unsure. So I feel like so. Has the fight ended? No. Good. So we have some time. Yeah. So I guess after like trying to help you with the the armor, uh Kenny's like, Well, uh I don't think this armor's going anywhere. Is it that valuable? Well, it is something I've been looking trying to put together, but this isn't gonna be the way that I get it. We shouldn't stay too much longer. The Brotherhood are likely gonna be back at some stage. So take what you can and we should keep moving. Take what you can, I mean why don't we just take the whole thing? We're here, right? They're not do you know how to drive one of these th ings? Well, t as a matter of fact I do. I would highly um I would strongly emphasize the risk involved. Uh we are going to make the Brotherhood very unhappy, and I assume Kenny has already found the key and started trying to just to look and he's looking at the visor and just falls down. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. You need to start it . And the the engine fires up and um the the propellers start to spin and you start to feel like a little bit of just lift as the vertebird uh gets in position to Which I imagine like the second we do that, we've now probably drawn the attention of the brotherhood that came here, so time has ticking. We absolutely have. So realizing this and now knowing that even if we were to turn it off now, uh the Brotherhood are gonna be on their way, probably. So J arred then pushes or nudges Kenny out of the seat or sits down next to it, however, the seats are set up in the front there. And um prepares to lift off in this vertibird. Alright. And so he goes straight into he goes straight back into old habits pilot mode. And so he's he's talking to Kenny then like he's, you know, the the navigator or whatever. And he's sitting there and he's pulling levers and and like bringing up the map on the screen and checking all the gear and asking Kenny to flick certain switches and do this, do that, and let's see if we can get it off the ground. Okay . I'm gonna roll on piloting. Sounds good . I don't know if we want to spend an action, but let's- I'm just gonna leave it for now and just see if I get this role. What difficulty do you think it is? Yeah, I don't know. I'd say at least two. I mean two is like my go-to, like for an average thing, which I think if you know how to do this, but maybe three 'cause it's a vertebrid, so I don't Okay. I don't know. Mm do you wanna ask me thick? Is it two? And if not, then it's three. Okay. That's fair enough. 50-50. Is it two? Leave it 50-50. Nope. It's a three test. It's a bit more difficult. Maybe it's like an older model that you haven't flown before, or maybe it's newer that they've changed stuff. Yeah, it's it might be newer, and it's been a while anyway. So I think I'm gonna have to buy a die. At least one. Uh I mean Kenny's there helping flip, so maybe you should get an extra dice from that as well. Okay, cool. So then I'll buy one, and then we have one from an assist, giving us four, and we need to roll under a ten . Or we rather we need to roll under a ten three times. There you go We fail miserably. So as um he sort of like at one point it's all going well and then at one point he moves his hand to the familiar uh accelerator lever or whatever, and it's not there because it's a different model and he needs to sort of look around where it is. He loses his concentration. Maybe Kenny starts getting excited and hitting other buttons as well. And we failure to launch. We sort of we feel the motors sort of go down a little bit and you feel the the vertebird like sink back into the ground a little bit, losing its any of its sort of upward uh pull that it was having. And so we don't even get off the ground. I think the engine's still running , but we're gonna need some time I'm gonna need some time to um see if I can figure it out. I reckon we can have one more attempt, but only after a little bit of time, which is gonna give the Brotherhood a chance to catch up. What do you think? That sounds good. Um the one thing I was gonna throw in there is we do have luck points to maybe re-roll some of the D20. So what I was thinking is maybe like Kenny can realize like maybe you probably vocalize that like stuff's not going well, you're not able to lift. I like that idea that Kenny just starts like randomly flipping switches in a hope that something helps. And seeing if that maybe I don't know does anything. So maybe we can use like luck to try to re-roll some of these and see if just flipping switches boosts our odds. I mean it could be. That would mean um let me see, what do we roll now? I can't see the thing. Here we go. So we would need oh man, they were all failures with one complication. You'd have to be very lucky. But you could try. I got luck points. So I mean it's I think it's you can spend what one luck per D twenty? Mm-hmm . So I maybe I'll spend what we need three successes, so maybe three points. I don't know. I mean let's let's do it for fun. Spend the three, we'll re-roll three we'll keep the complication to keep it interesting. Negatively. But see if we can if you can be luckier than me. Okay . Uh so I'll actually let you I'll let you do the rerolls since you were the one that made the test. I'm just kind of flipping switches trying to help you out. Um so in Foundry, you should just be able to click like in the chat on like the three dice that you want to re-roll, and then there's like a reroll button below that should just do it. Ooh . We got two. Okay . Flipping switches does help apparently. So I think yeah, it's sort of we have one little bit of a failure and then we sort of keep going and we sort of get a little bit further. I think giving Jared at least enough confidence that he could get this thing in the air, but hasn't managed yet. And I think if we do the test again we can do it with a slightly lower difficulty now that we've figured out a couple of things. Okay. But we should first see if we get caught Yeah. Um, so I guess that's a fake question for Mythic. I think it's I mean what what I guess the c cause you're definitely gonna notice someone taking off with a vertebrated. So what's the are they gonna start shooting at us? Do they hit us? Like what do we want to ask? It depends how long it takes them. I mean if they hear the vertibird, um okay, let's ask if they heard it, which I think is very likely. So did they hear the vertibird? Yeah. Yes. So that means they are coming. It's just how long it takes them. So the next question is, are they here yet? Okay. What do you I think I mean it depends how long I mean you're the vertebrate Jara is the vertebrate expert, so like I don't know how long it would take from like propeller starting to in the air, but I don't imagine it's too long. And like I said, I think this is a distance away because they couldn't land near the tower, and that's kind of where the fight's happening. So I do think if they're in the power armor, they probably can't move very fast. I mean So let's call it unlikely, but then the next roll will be likely. If we don't get it off the ground the next time, the next roll will be likely. To make this one unlikely. So are they here yet? No . Okay. So we get one more chance. I think Jared is a little bit um he's a bit angry with himself. Uh he's a little bit frustrated. But he does think because we managed to with some lucky button pushes from Kenny, uh he does feel confident that we can try again. But he has to like, you know, he has to do the I T thing of like shutting the whole thing down, letting the sound, like letting everything just sort of settle, and then try and bring it up from from scratch again. So that's gonna take another another ten another few minutes or whatever. Meaning that next time we check, the Brotherhood are probably gonna be on top of us. So let's do another I will do another pilot. Could could I interject with one thing before you do that? Please do. So I like the idea that I mean Kenny's a big talker, very charismatic. So I think he could see you stressing a bit. And I want to give maybe a bit of a pep talk and just be like, think of think of all the caps. I mean you you told me you can fly this. You you had that thing running so quick. I mean there's no way you don't get this off the ground. Okay, and because your it is um strangely in inadvis ably um you know buys into Kenny's nonsense I think he has a little bit more confidence again. So shall we call it a difficulty two now? Now that we've learned a little bit about it. And I don't think we buy anything, I think we just roll. Alright. Although we didn't use the complication now, did we? Or maybe the complication was that the the Brotherhood are just coming. That's probably gonna happen regardless. Yeah, maybe what do you think the complication could be? Someone else. That could be. That's a tough one. Because I want to make it something other than like, I don't know, something with a vertebrae that's different or broken, but I mean that could also be like maybe like part of the vertebrae is already damaged that makes it like harder to pilot or I don't know. Maybe it needs a repair first. Maybe that's the complication. Maybe something needs like a fuse replaced or something small that's not major but will slow us down further, thus increasing the tension of the brotherhood catching up. Okay. Alright. Yeah, we can go with that. So I think Jared noticed then just as he as he sort of wound the thing down again, he heard a pop and a little bit of smoke, or maybe Kenny noticed it, from the uh the fuse box under the under the panel at the front. Kenny's like, uh is that supposed to be happening? Yeah, and um Jared makes a real dad joke like Yeah, that's the secret about how electrical things work. It's only they only work because the white smoke is kept in. If you let the white smoke out, then they stop working. It's a dead joke that an old guy told me once about fixing guitars. Kenny just kind of works at Jar and he's like, I don't. It's like I don't care . He's like, so this isn't supposed to be happening. So repair role. We're a little bit better at repair than um than piloting. Difficulty two. Yeah, that sounds good. I think Kenny will just kind of keep an eye on like the door, maybe keep keep an eye on for anybody coming while you do this, because I don't think he's gonna be of any help to you. Okay. Let's see what we get. That is a crit. That is a one. So we get our two successes on one die. And we're able to repair it? I think. Okay, so um Kenny's watching at the door, Jared sort of fiddles behind the thing, he he pulls one of the spare fuses that are neatly lined up, uh clipped to the lid of the little fuse box, quickly replaces, quickly spots and replaces the fuse that he needs to replace, and is confident that it'll start now this time. So he sits back down in the pilot chair, calls to Kenny to come back to the navigator's chair, and I think we better ask again if the Brotherhood arrive. Okay. Um do another fake question we I think it's probably very likely. Yeah, I think it's now likely, at least, if not very likely, with the extra time it took to do the repair. Well go we'll maybe go likely, because I still think I mean it re regardless, even if they're aware, like Brotherhood pretty slow, they got the armor, maybe they're still in the fight. And they had a job up there as well. They were doing something up there. Maybe they just sent a few people to check it out. We're not sure yet. So call it likely. Alright, so are the Brotherhood here or on their way? No. Still as you so as Ja Red says like the repair is complete, Kenny's watching with his pistol, he's like looks clear over here, and kinda hops back in the co-pilot seat. Alright, let's try for the last time to see if we can get this bird off the ground. Pilot. Difficulty 2. Let's go . Uh we don't get it. Yeah, it looks like we're Yeah, I'll I will use a luck. I'll totally use the luck. I feel like we could use a little bit of luck right now. Yeah, let's do that. Let me sorry, I'm juggling my my windows here. So again. I'll fix the luck in a second. I will just do a reroll on the 19 . That is just . Is it ? My repair is . Um Um something's ten. No no, my so I've got it it's eight plus four. So it's twelve is my repair. Unless I didn't put it in the thing right. According to the pilot, not repair. Oh bugger. Okay. So we don't get it. Okay, so I think I think um either we can keep trying it and they'll inevitably come. So I think I think Jared then says he nearly does but he can't quite get it off the ground. And he said, no, this isn't working. Um we gotta get out of here before they get back. They'll be on their way. Think of all the money. Think of all the caps. Does Kenny want to keep trying? I don't know. Oh, we didn't have we didn't have Kenny um assisting. Oh, that's true. I was in the co-pilot seat. So we can maybe just do a pilot roll of one dice. Yeah, I'll just re-roll the 12 again. Oh, yeah. And that can be the assist, right? Yeah, yeah. No . Okay . So it's it's gonna be up to Kenny. Uh Jared is pretty sure that we should abandon the idea. But he will probably do what Kenny says. See, I'm really trying to think because Kenny's all about the money. And this seems like a very I mean, I know this is a dangerous situation, but Kenny hasn't been out in the real world, hasn't dealt with vertebirds or brotherhood, so I feel like he 's a bit lost in the what could be. And I think just especially because off the ground, he sees the possibility. So against his better judgment, Jared is convinced to try one more time, and this time , before we try, it's gonna be nearly certain, very likely, that the Brotherhood finally cat ch up? Yeah, let's go nearly certain. Yeah . So did they catch up? Took 'em long enough. Yes, they do . So So now it's tense. Do they start if if we can ask one more fake question, do they start firing straight away or do they try and um board the Verde Bird? That's a good question, because I feel like part of me wants to say yes, but also if like this is their ride home, they have like their equipment on here, like they probably wouldn't just start shooting at it. Okay. So in that case, I think they are here. And they are maybe close enough to maybe like I see it as as very sort of action movie they're coming down the hill and they're like and they notice that someone is in there trying to steal it and so they're like running up to the Verde bird and we have one more chance to get it off the gro und . And i even then maybe like one of them can like, you know, jump and hang on to the the open door and try and crawl in or something like that. Yeah. Okay. So tensions are high. We're doing a final pilot roll. Uh still difficulty two. We're rolling three dice because of the assist. Or do we have Kenny like trying to give put down some suppressing fire. All Kennedy's got is a 10 millimeter against the power armor brotherhood. I don't think that's gonna do much. Not a lot of suppression. Okay, so we have three dice to roll 10 is our target number. Let's see if we can get this thing in heroic action movie style off the ground in time man this is not this is not working I'm gonna use my last two points of luck because now I really, really don't want to get caught by the Brotherhood at this point. Gerard is really regretting l ever listening to Kenny, but he can't sort of help himself. Two more luck points to re-roll two and it is another complete failure . We have to decide if we run or if we try and fight. Kenny's Kenny's ready he's already unbuckling. He's like, okay, abort, or this let's get out of here. I don't like this anymore. So he's gone. He's already left. And um Jared turns around and Kenny's like one leg out the door already. Uh unfortunately Jared is not very agile. So he's gonna follow. Um whichever direction Kenny is running in. Down the hill back where we came towards back. And we're gonna need to see if we get past it might even be a sneak, is it? Or are they just gonna be f were they just firing at us and we're gonna see if we dodge it long enough? I feel like a sneak so we can kinda maybe like 'cause it is also evening. I mean, I don't know Brotherhood might have like night vision and whatnot, but I think if we go out like one side of the vertebrate and go down the hill, I mean Yeah. I don't know. Maybe they won't even care. Like they just saw their vertebrat almost get hijacked and they're just glad that they have it back. Maybe they won't even pursue us. I don't know. That's that's what I think. I think it's unlikely if if we do get out , I would imagine that they might lay down a couple of shots at us or something. Um but the priority is to just secure the vehicle. So let's try a sneak, and if we fail the sneak, perhaps we we see if we take a hit on the way out. Okay. Should we do separate sneaks since like penny kinda gotta jump critical one for two successes. So you slippery bugger, you get out unscathed. What do we say? What did you say the difficulty was too? Um I guess I didn't say. I was just kind of rolling just to see how good I did. So Okay. So that's a complication. So Jair definitely gets he gets clipped, I think. He could trip, which would be arguably worse. What do you think? I don't know. I'm also trying to like yeah, but the complication could be. I mean, I like the idea that if we were both like buckled in the cockpit, like Kenny was quick to get out, but almost like the idea that maybe like your your belt is jammed, so you're having trouble like even getting out of the cockpit first. But yeah, and I've been sitting for too long, my knees have gone stiff. Okay. So let's let's see. Let's just ask if if they're firing. 'Cause they do see me. They see me leaving the um they see me leaving the vehicle. We'll we'll figure out exactly what the complication is, but let's first ask if they open fire and that'll help inform what the complication was. Okay. Um I think the odds are like unlikely probably. Like I said, I mean I think they see the Verbirds not taking off anymore, so they're probably not as pressured. Okay. See, are they firing? Okay. So in that case the complication is um I think I think his knee does sort of give in as he's doing the little hop out of the like out of the the doorway of the vertebird. Uh and I think he's gonna maybe fall and just take a little bit of damage maybe. And then I'm gonna have to see if he can get up again in time. Okay. And get away. So let's just say it's I don't know, one damage dice worth of damage to the leg or two. Yeah. Or if you wanted to instead of just doing damage, you could also just like take an injury on your leg. Like I don't know if that would be worse. Oh yeah. I haven't done much with injuries. Injuries are not good, so like I mean damage would definitely be easier for us to overcome, but I don't know. I mean it makes sense. It's gonna make it a more difficult journey for the rest of the way there. More difficult to get away now if they do try and follow us. Um But I don't know. I d I don't think it's a I don't think it's an injury. Like that's more like a broken leg or something like that. I think it's I think he sitting still, crouched up like that for twenty minutes or whatever it was, was enough to just let the the arthritis sink back in, and he just sort of has a little fall, takes a little bit of damage, and then has to scrabble to get back up in time. Okay. Yeah, I imagine there's at least one, if not more, you know, Brotherhood of Seal paladins that are just with their armors clunking towards us as they run. They're probably yelling through their speakers like, stop, stop right there. Yeah, step away. Whatever. Okay . So can you roll me a couple of damage dice? Yeah, so what'd you say? Two? Do two and I'll it can ignore armor . Wee, three damage. So that takes my hit points down a little bit. Um, and then let's do an athletics check to see if I can get back up in time . Okay . And I'm gonna use an action point for that because I need to get back up in time. Have the brotherhood do it. So we're gonna roll three dice. Uh Kenny's gone, right? He's kind of bailed, yeah. He's he's not running back to help me out or anything like that. So let's do an athletics check. We need a seven. Um it's probably only it's only standing up. So is that a difficulty one or you still think a two? I think a one. Okay . Cool. Um all right . We get it on the five and the seven. So we get an action point back and manage to get up in time and I think um Jarred then catches up to Kenny who is d has deemed himself a safe enough distance to be a way and is grinning like an idiot. Um and Jared is sort of annoyed, but also can't help but smile as well when he catches up. He's just like behind a tree, like one arm, just out of breath. He's like, huh. Yeah, exactly. And then presumably we can continue on our way, but I do think we would have have to add the Brotherhood of Steel to the character list again . Yeah. More likely to come up. For sure. Okay. And we keep on going. We get back to Bessie. Mm-hmm. What are we, halfway now? Halfway to the destination? How much further do we have to go? Um region map. We started here. Over here . Yeah, probably maybe like halfway. Probably a little bit under halfway, but yeah. Okay. I think you know what's your agility score? Four. Kind of hurt my knee. But I mean we we're traveling at at Brahmin speed, right? That's true . I still think because that probably the whole ordeal, I said it was like 6:3 7 when we started, so it probably only took like a half hour, maybe for all that. So yeah. I'd say we could probably get to the fish packing plant before sundown at least. So long as we don't run into anything else. Before sundown? The next day or what? Today. I mean I think it's dark. How I yeah, it's already like evening. I guess yeah it is already sundown. I guess I meant before like nightfall. I guess it is already kind of nightfall, but I don't know. Before the end of the day. Okay . So let's do a so we we get back together. We sort of uh catch our breath and when we feel safe enough to continue, we we just continue on with with Bessie. Let's do a navigation role and see if we can get there by um like super early morning or whether we're gonna have to make camp. Okay. Would that be like a survival rule? What are you thinking? Uh the navigation, what is that again? There's specific rules for it. Like if you if you know the direction of mixing travel and terrain. So we can go about two miles an hour with my speed. Um and the terrain we're sort of following a a road more or less, aren't we? Yeah. It's like a highway. So yeah. We can do so on the road we can do three miles an hour . Okay. So if it's a clear trail, we have a base difficulty of one . Clear Clear trail is like we have a map. Um if it's if we're going off landmarks, large landmarks, then it's a difficulty of two. And it's a perception plus survival test. Uh-uh. So I think we're probably going off landmarks, right? Slash following the road. Yeah. Well maybe not. We might have a map because I think the caravan company, if they want us to like stay on route, they would at least something to work with? I would hope. Maybe ask Mythic, I don't know. Yeah, let's ask Mythic. Do we have a map? Because this is a not a place that the caravan has been before, obviously. That is true. Maybe unsure, unlikely, what do you think? Let's just do unsure because there's a pretty good like we definitely have a map. It's just whether we know exactly where we're going on that map. Okay. So do we have clear directions? Yeah. Okay. So we can navigate X on the map to where to go to. Yeah. We sort of know it's on that area. And they know that because maybe we've even been as far as um well maybe we have already mapped something like University Point or something also down along that coast. So we have a bit of an idea. And since we're on a road, um it would usually be difficulty one. Since it's night time it's it's difficulty two. So survival plus perception and we can do it together. So I've got uh 11 of my survival perception. What do you got? Five. Okay, so I might navigate if that's okay with you. Yeah. Kenny will do his best to help. And we're going to and your mind's tagged as well. And you're gonna help. So uh how do we do a specific so survival is usually endurance? Yeah, so when you click on survival, like it'll open up the box and then you essentially just change out your attribute number. Because it autofills it with endurance, but then you can just change it. Okay, sweet. Three dice, we need eleven to hit. Uh but it's tagged under four. Difficulty two. We get it. So we get it with the tag. And we gain an action point. Alright. So we get there. We arrive. Um I mean we will roll to see if we encounter anything else. But if not, we will arrive morning without getting lost. Okay. Do we want to see if there's another encounter on the last? I mean, we're probably a few hours now still to go. Yeah. Um, yeah, let's see. So just a mythic question you think? Or should we do like a scene alteration? Would this be a new scene? What do you think? Yeah, let's let's make it let's make a new scene. That's a great idea. Okay, so chaos factor, I would say probably goes up. I mean that was a good one. I think it probably goes up. I don't know how much in control we were specifically of the ver vertebrate . Yeah. We did get wait, did you now that I'm thinking about it, did you grab any of the loot from the vertebrate? Because I grabbed some ammo, but I think that was the only thing I said Yeah, I don't think I did actually I cause I didn't say anything and I thought we were just gonna take the whole thing. So and when it was too late then I wasn't thinking to grab stuff. So you got a bit of ammo. Just handful of ammo shoved in my pocket. Okay. So chaos factor is up to six. So then yeah, we can roll for a scene altar. So I guess the scene is just us traveling to the fish packing plant. Yeah. So expect it as we continue traveling through the night with Bessie without interruption. Is the expected scene. Let's see what Mythic has to say about that. Mythic says no . Or did you roll? Oh, it just does it autom atically. Uh-huh. Scene was interrupted. Oh, it's still rolling. Okay. Okay, so what does this mean? Talk me through it. So yeah, scene was interrupted, so it's definitely not going as we expected . It's not an alteration, so that means you know seems gonna happen pretty similarly, just something's happening in between. An interruption event of an NPC action. Release new ideas. Okay, so roll on the character list then? Is that what we do? Uh we can, yeah. And see who it relates to. Okay, cool. We got good old shoes again. Dusty? Is that it? Dusty. Yeah. It's the security officer for the Silverline Caravan Company. Okay . So what what's brings to mind for you? Is something happening back at headquarters or use new ideas? That's hard to think on that one. How are we how are people sending messages in the wasteland, do you think? I mean, runners, I guess. Yeah, there's like couriers. I mean there is some form of radio. I mean, I don't think like we would have like I don't know if we'd have like a pocket walkie-talkie and the caravan has their own like radio tower. That could be. I don't know. Let's ask. I'd like a radio tower. Okay . Um I mean, and this is this is like Fallout Four, right? So there are radio towers around, you can build them. Yeah. Maybe we have one and maybe we use it sparingly because it's always the chance of being intercepted. Okay. Or we can just say 'cause it's it's better for the narrative that we do have one and we get a message from Dusty about releasing new ideas. Yeah, that I mean got any idea any ideas for release new ideas? I'm wondering if there was like a change of plans or maybe you heard about the vertebird incident. I don't know. I think probably not the vertebird incident, but I think the the job has been added to for some reason. Either something else came up saying um on your way back or on your way there, like go check out this other location so we can um we can like kill two birds with one stone. Mm-hmm . Or if you think of release as in let go of and the new idea being this new trade route, maybe he's calling to say, look, forget the trade route. The client uh isn't gonna pay or was killed in a bar fight or somet hing . I don't know. And then we have to do something else while we're there. Where where is interesting for you around here, the castle you said something's going on? The castle is where the neon marauders are located , which is that group, um, which is pretty close by, so there could be something going on with that . But it could also be completely unrelated. Mm-hmm Hmm. I feel like we need I feel like we need a bit of a a climax here for the for the show for today. So what could be interesting that happens ? There's also the General Atomics factory right next door. I mean, I feel like that could be something. Yeah, I don't know . My gut says that uh we've been told to abandon the origin al job. Okay . But since we're here, uh we can replace it like he's giving us a new directive . And maybe that is to let's say is to pick something up . Maybe from the General Atomics Factory. Yeah, like maybe they got intel that there's something inside there that's very valuable so they're like well maybe this is more of a priority. Yeah. Okay. I like it. So let's say we get the radio call. Um we've been traveling sort of through the night a little bit. We don't want to stop, uh even though we're getting pretty tired at this point, I guess. And Dusty calls through on the radio . We know that's important. If the radio does go off, then it's got to be important because they don't use it just willy-nilly . So Dusty calls through and says um there's been a complication with the original client. Uh for whatever reason they're not gonna pay. However, while you're out there , and what do you think they're gonna get us to pick up ? Or should we ask Mythic on the meaning table? We can use Mythic i mean i kind of like the idea general atomics factory i mean i don't know uh my fallout lore isn't great general atomics i kind of forget exactly what they do but i mean i like the idea that we've already just established that we have this radio communication, so i wouldn't think it would kind be of cool if it was something maybe related to that, like some extra radio equipment to make stuff more secure or I don't know. Okay. So yeah, the radio tower is a relatively new endeavor for the um what's the name of our company? Silverline Caravan Company. Silverline Caravan Companies and Dusty or and whoever the whoever's running it really pleased with this new development because no other caravan company has its own radio tower and we need like you say we it's it's only new it's barely sort of functioning and we're still working out the details so although the job's been cancelled, while while you guys are out there, could you see if you can like we we know that there's a factory around in that area as well. Can you see if you can go and pick up any materials that might be useful for the radio Tower. I like it.. Cool Now, do you think we have to or should camp with this new information in mind? Or do you think we just push through? I would then be getting like hungry and tired and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, I think Kenny as much as he wanted to push through the night just to get this job done now that's turned to something else, he's probably wanted to sleep. It's been kind of a long day. He doesn't get out much, so he doesn't like at least get in the wasteland much, so camping might not be a bad idea. So let's do that. We sort of pull up off the side of the road a little bit. Um Jared doesn't mind much, it's not that he's particularly annoyed, it's all just a job anyway. He doesn't really care about what it is we're doing. Um and actually the thought of being able to pick up some more junk and tech and stuff that he could use rather than just salted fish or whatever is reasonably attracti ve to him. Mm-hmm. So that's camp. I don't know if we heal at all. I guess we can I didn't put any food or anything on my character sheet. I think it's safe to assume we have enough rations and whatever provided by the company to get us through the trip. Yeah. So I'm gonna say that I can heal back to the back to the um 13 my hit points. Sounds good. And then let's see if we get a camping encounter, shall we? Yeah. So you want to ask Mythic and then I have a a table specifically for campsites . Sure. We think unsure? Likely unsure . Okay . Do we have a camping encounter? Mythic says yes . Just okay, D20. D2 0 Five . So as we are looking for somewhere to camp, or as we sort of establish our camp a little bit, um, in fact, maybe it's in the morning. I think we've slept. We've eaten something. We've slept a bit and we sort of wake up in the morning as the sun is coming up. We've had maybe five or six hours sleep, something like that. And we wake up to the sound of two of a pair of wastelanders in the midst of a heated debate. It won't turn violent, but each feels passionately that they are correct, and they'll try to drag the PCs into the discussion. The subject of the discussion is some unanswerable philosophical question or nonsense hypothetical such as what does or what does not count as a sandwich. I mean Kenny, this is this is your area. It's true . Okay . So what we woken up. Where do we think we're just camp along the road somewhere? So maybe there's just like what people walking by. They're like kind of talking loudly, you think? Yeah, I think we went sort of off the road a little bit, um, behind some sort of a cover, shelter, dead car, something like that, and sort of settled in. Uh and from the road, yeah, I think we hear two people walking along in a really he ated discussion about I don't know, maybe it's about the the politics in the in the region, like whether the NCR are the NCR still around in this timeline? I don't think so. Or or just something something really stupid. Something like would a Brahmin be better with two heads or one? Okay. Because two heads are better than one, but no no. One head would mean that, you know. So yeah, maybe they like they see Betsy on the side of the road and that's what maybe like sparks the discussion and then they wake us up and Kenny kind of gets up from his side kind of rubbing his head, he's like, What's what are you guys talking about? Yeah. So in fact, we're we're fast asleep and we wake up to a shock to people standing right next to us. And you know, Jared obviously jumps up and reaches for his gun and stuff and thinks that they're being attacked or whatever. And these two idiots are just standing there inspecting Bessie and discussing about the benefits um or what God intended whether the the uh Brahmins should have two heads or one. Kenny maybe gets a little defensive. He's like, wait, are you bad talking or Brahmin here? Oh Betsy? Betsy's been through a lot. Two heads? This is the best Brahmin around. So you're siding with the um the two headed side. Yeah, for sure. And Jared is is very confused and sort of sleepy and doesn't really know what's going on and he wakes up and and Kenny's already up on fully on board in the argument on the side of two heads are better than one. Do you want to do a a persuasion or use one of your perks . Yeah, I can do a um do a speech test to try to convince them. What do we think? The difficulty. At least two? I mean two heads argument. I feel like I need at least a two. Sure. I'm just gonna roll what I got because I'm I'm good at this. Surely this doesn't fail. Is that two twenties? Oh no, it's an eight and a twenty. This is one twenty though. Uh okay, so not a full success. What happens? What's the complication? I mean, the encounter said it wouldn't turn violent. Um, yeah, maybe like I'm I like the idea that maybe one of them's a ghoul and I start talking about like I don't know mutations and whatnot and like it offends the the ghoul who's like on the two-headed side of argument but now I've like offended them. Uh okay so you were on their side and they thought you were being um what would you call it liveist s yeah I don't know what that would be yeah it's not like yeah it's not like Kenny has anything against like mutations but he's just like I don't know he says like maybe they're weird or he says something that kind of just Just rubs the d the ghoul up the wrong way. Okay, and so maybe he um walks off in a huff. And you've pissed both of them. You've you're annoyed both of them then because uh you But before they go, we could ask them to if they know the area and clarify that we're going in the right direction. Because now we're a little bit more vague on our location, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah. So do you want to see with an increased difficulty if, you can convince them to continue talking to you. Yeah. So that was like difficulty two. So I get difficulty three test? Yeah. Okay. I'm definitely gonna uh does Jarred wanna help me out trying to talk to them? I can help. Yeah, I'll assist. He's rolled his eyes now that even a ridiculous situation like this you've managed to get us into trouble . And um he tries to kind of be the voice of reason over here. Mm-hmm. So if we spend an AP then we can use four dice. Okay. I'll I I better do that. I do have some luck left, but what's not what you see? Shees. Hey, that's much better. So it kind of just maybe tries to like get off the topic. Like as they're leaving away. He's like less, lessons. Like, we can all agree Bauman's a great one-header two, but you know, and then Kenny just starts going on a tangent about how we're new in the area and just trying to find our way around. Probably lies a bit, you know, doesn't doesn't say we're with the caravan company, doesn't say we're looking maybe for something specific in the general atomics, but kinda just asking like what's in the are a, getting general directions. Maybe offer them a a snack or something. Yeah. Okay, cool. So then they're willing to talk to us. Do they know where the general atomics factory is. So let's ask mythic, um I think it's likely. I'd agree. Yeah. That's almost an extreme yes. Okay . So they do know where it is, they're willing to tell us , and then probably they just go on their way, right? But we know exactly where we're going and we can get there much quicker. Mm-hmm. Okay. Cool, cool. Then let's um let's say it only takes us another few hours to get there. And I don't know. Do we want to see like we're probably coming up on time here, right? Yeah, I mean this would be probably a good place to start again next time. It's just like right as we get up to the General Atomics Factory, because I imagine that's going to to be a whole thing kind of explore in and of itself. Excellent. So maybe just to to sort of end it on a new scene then, let's maybe ask what we come across when we come up to it and we can maybe set up that scene and then leave it there. Okay . Um so we should do another scene alteration, I guess. Well chaos factor, what do you think? So last thing was going through the wasteland, we encountered we might made camp, we got the call on the radio. We could ask for like a descriptor of it of the building. Because I'm wondering, like maybe as we're coming up, like maybe there's raiders there, maybe it's quiet, maybe it's in disrepair, I don't know. So maybe we could just ask Mythic to give us an idea of of what we're looking at and that might help um help guide what the new scene is. Okay . Uh there's some tables we can roll. We could go on like let me just roll this one. There's the general locations table. Lively artistic. Hmm . Interesting . First thing that kind of comes to mind for me is like maybe this is a place that is it's mostly abandoned, but maybe it's a place like people come to do like graffiti and it's like turned into kind of like a a spot for artists to go for some reason. Like I don't know something about the structure of the building. They were like painting on the walls and it's maybe like super bright colored even though it's like the actual exterior of like the building is like super damaged. But it looks nice, kind of, at least the paint. That's cool. That could be something. So there must be a settlement nearby . Maybe at the brewery? Yeah. Or somewhere near there. Like there is some sort of settlement nearby and and yeah, like you say, this is a place that that people come maybe I don't know. I c I picture teenagers with cigarettes and uh and spray cans, you know. Mm-hmm . Okay. That's cool. I think that's a cool image. And then let's just uh as a final question, let's ask if there's any one around . I would say because of that description, especially because it says live way, I would say at least likely, if not very likely. Yep . We'll go likely. See. Is there anyone around? No. Nope. Okay . So why don't you why don't we write up the new scene? We arrive there. There's clearly a place that people go to. We don't know what kind of people . Um it could be some cult or something even , we don't know. But currently there doesn't appear to be anyone around. Okay . Excellent. Thank you all so much for watching this very fun , I think, Fallout playthrough where I got to play with the great PJ Sack, and we got to see what uh Kenny and Jared were up to, and maybe we'll pick back up on this at some point in the future. But I want to thank PJ for coming on today and hanging out and playing some Fallout. Thank you so much. I had a really good time. It really showed me that playing co-op with Mythic is is really great. It's it's easy. It's it's um it's's fun. It nice to have another brain to bounce ideas off and and I really like it. I'd love to come back.
