I am so excited for the final guest to talk about Summer House. You know him as the host of the Dumpster Dive podcast. I know him as the handsome Tom Hamlet. Oh my Godd. You did tell me you were gonna flirt with me before I did Of i Kelly. That's why brought you here. You know, I love you, Kelly. I'm so happy to be here. and can't we chat about these messy kids that we call our friends, the summer House casts. They are my friends. When July comes around, I'm like, what are my friends filming? What are they doing? What is their first themed party And I want to shout out to all of the fans like, I believe you are one of these as well that like have been with these kids from the jump, you know? I would say twenty twenty for me but that's not I'm gonna to call that the jum. Okay. okay. Yeah. because like they started in twenty sixteen. this should't get good til twenty eighteen. so like As long as you've hopped on in twenty twenty, I think you're allowed to talk about the show. whereere I get frustrated right now about places where I'm hitting my cap is certain people who are like had no idea that this show was worth watching and had just now got in to make a buck off of content. And I'm like, youven't been here for the long haul Tom, I saw someone say, I didn't even know Kyle and Amanda were married isn't That kind of a big plot point strong like the whole thing Is that kind of the whole thing Actually, before we get into the last part of the reunion, how do you feel about Kyle Cook being filmed kissing all these women while DJing. And by all these women, I mean two so far, but I'm assuming more will come. Well, yeah, if we've seen two, we know there's at least ten. so I ye I mean I'm kind of like team let him live his life, but I'm also team like Let's never forget who he is, you know. Yeah. I was I was the cut used a like thread of mine in the cut in their article about Kyle being like the hero, the un the unexpected hero of Summer House this year or something like that And people started to get mad at me. like, I'm like out here being like Kyle's my baby. I love my baby. I stand by my baby. I'm like I do not stand for barely any white straight men, so like But I have been obviously on his side for a lot of like the scandal side of these things, but like he is so lucky Yeah this happened Because this would have been the end of Loverboy. this would have been the end of Kyle Cook. Seriously, like Loverboy wouldn't have would probably have gone bankrupt without the scan completely agree with you. People think I actually like Amanda because of how much I still kind of dislike Kyle. Like I think as a reality star, Kyle is amazing, but this rewriting a history of him being like, a nice guy who just got taken advantage of by this manipulative girl. I'm like, no, we're not gonna do that. And also, all my friends complain about how guys aren't like mature and they can't find a guy to date. And I'm like, so we shouldn't cheer on a forty four year old Peter Pan making up with twenty something year olds No No, and You know he's gonna end up with some like twenty eight year old blond girl who lives in Green Point. That's just gonna to be his trajectory or Sally from Southern Charm Sally, how do we solve a problem like Sally? You know where Sally would have popped absolutely off the real world on the real world and the challenge? kn I knew you were gonna be with me Yeah her trajectory of being on whatever real world season and then being an absolute mess on the challenge She would have boned Johnny Banas in two seconds. If they haven't already, honestly, if they haven't already. I feel the same about West. I think West would have been amazing on the real world and Justin from Southern Hospitality. L Don't get me started Okay. Don't get me sed on that man. I've never been a gay that was like into straight guys. Like it's never I've never that's never been like what gets gets me going is like a straight guy Like where I have friends who like hooked up with so many straight guys.?ike I don't think've ever even hooked up with a straight guy Straight guy, quote unquote. Justin is the is like I have I don't like the feelings I feel for him. He is so hot. like I want to I want to blow him St Can you believe it? He has an actually Kelly, no, that's crazy to hear. He just has a has a sexuality to him that is so he would have been fantastic. Aastic the real world. Yeah, he has such a coolness about him and he's not afraid to also get in the mix and fight with people, which I like loveve. I love that he has he has a spine, he's not like kissing the ring of reality TV. He's just being himself. and He's also like vocally a little gay, which I like that too. how he's like, yeah, like I'm down with Dick like I'm like twenty percent Dick, eighty percent, you know Vagina Yeah, he's like, I'll try it, whatever. Yeah Okay, now that I know have you here talking about Southern hospitality, what do you think happened with Joe and TJ I think show asked for a blow juob or like a hand job or something and TJ they started the process and maybe like it didn't come to fruition because Joe had like whiskey dick or something. Yeah. But like I definitely think there was the beginning of a hookup And they were both probably brown out and don't totally remember all the pieces But he will Joe will probably try and take that to his grave because like He just seems like one of the guys that like has definitely like thought about being a little gay Right But like is so scared of like what that means, which which kind of bumps me out. But It's crazy how we move past that drama though. that drama hasn't even come up at all in this current season. I mean, they've gotten over it, I guess, but It's kind of a wild thing to just get over. Well, they mentioned it like briefly in the reunion and like TJ wanted to talk about it and Joe was like, no, we don't have to talk about it. And I was like, please finally just air it out. Let us know. Stop having us guess Right, I know. I think I feel like in a couple years they might just like tell the full story offhandedly and then be like, oh my God, I guess we just reveilled that Well, speaking of Southern hospitality, someone that I am at my wits's end with and I hate to do this because he is hashtag part of the community. Michaels, I love him as a character on reality television, but I'm sorry, Diva. like You got to kind of find reality again because he thinks he is the Lisa Vanderpump of Charleston. And I'm like, you are approximately twenty two years old. have been on a show for two years. Like you don't have the clout to like be So Like Egotistical You know Yeah. Sometimes the age gaps are too much on Southern hospitality and I'm getting sick. of reminding myself that these people are twenty two and twenty three years old, him and Lake. And except TJ's thirty five. Well that's what I'm going to say. like the rest of the cast is older and they feel more connected and locates Mia for whatever reason. R Whenever Mia tries to talk about it, she's like, I just I can't even, I can't even with you. And it's like, if you have a crush on Mia, it's okay. we all do Right. L I would absolutely hook up with me, like me too. like It is funny because I can't imagine I can't imagine working with, being friends with, going on vacations with a twenty two year old. No. As a thirty five year old myself Yeah, I'm thirty four and twenty two feels very far away from me Ver And I was off at twenty two, to be clear, like I was a complete nightmare. My bank account was like at negative twenty every day and like I was still find a way to have Martinis and wreak havoc on New York City. So. Exactly. Yeah. So if any twenty two year olds are listening and you're like, ooh, I don't like that. It's like, no, no, I understand why you are the way you are. I was probably much worse than you Absolutely. So suummer house reunion part three, we're finally here. We thought we were done with it, but we're getting a surprise episode next week Like why? I'm sorry, why not make this superersizeed? They should have supersized this and just put it at the end of this. I know, I know because I honestly like, I'm glad Sierra has someone to be like angry with in Miha I'm not going get into Miha. I know my spirit and my soul, I haven't cared all three episodes and this isn't going to make me care more No, I mean, she's not gonna she can't make me like those horse hair ties, sorry, me I'm also like, did you not have any friends being like, girl, get up becausecause he's been leading you on for however many years, saying, this is all fake, this is all for Bravo and like I need to stay on Bravo. Where are these people's friends They don't I feel like sometimes I'm thank you for saying that because sometimes I feel like I come across a little like misogynistic when I'm saying like, girl, get up because like, I don't want people to think that I'm like Like stand up for yourself, like I sometimes I think people think that it's me talking down to women on these shows when I'm like, I wish that they would stand up for themselves. but like I think it's probably just a product of like the shows not having a lot of like female and female like camaraderie. and Sierra was a very very rare instance of a really good girlfriend on these shows. Like I think she was such a good girlfriend to Paiage And to Amanda. And Amanda just seemingly didn't really respect that for some reason at the end of the day Right, It wasn't just for show for when it came to Sierra. Sierra was like, I would have helped pack up a moving van for her Right. And Amanda's like no way I w to do that for you, what? She's like, that's weird, Sierra. A lot of people are upset about Bailey talking to Amanda. And I'm a Bailey like fan apologist, but I have to say she wants a second season producers were like, hey, stay out here so Amanda has someone to talk to. She's gonna do it Yeah I don't I don't really understand the Bailey hate on that because like Well, here's the thing. in the end, like Amanda is a nightmare, but The whole cast He is trying to be like Great What is wrong? You know, and Just because she's done terrible things doesn't mean that we can't be like have some empathy for the fact that like she I think objectively is just not well. L I think we can see that in her in her spirit. L she's not happy. she's not in a good place And I think Bailey's just trying to be objective in a friend and be like, girl, like what is going on? And she gave her absolutely nothing in that. No She was just like, yeah, this has just been a lot like picking our eyelashes, eyebrows and Bailey's like we don't like West. Like we don't trust him and a man is like I got it Can you imagine Here's my other thing with this Amanda like Kyle to West move too is that Her biggest gripe about o biggest scribes, right. One was party and the other was cheating. So then she decided to go to West who arguably has a much greater cheating roster than Kyle ever did and also a greater experience in the substance realm than Kyle does. So I don't have an answer for the cheating do have an answer for the partying because I think Kyle became not fun to party with anymore. I have been Kyle Cook The last person at a party, drunk, swaying, being like, where's our next spot? And I think she got sick of that. Maybe she didn't get sick of going out per se, but going out and having to take care of Kyle was like what she was over. Yeah, I definitely see that But yeah, so they started going out with each other in January, Amanda and West, just as friends And Wes says it was a treat for me to see Amanda incredibly happy and we started to spend more time together. brrutal. That's such a read without like saying it directly to Kyle. Right. It's a read. It's also like, His definition of happy is like her ripping shots at the bar like in the West Village. She's like, it's so beautiful to see her I also think that would have been Kyle's version of happy. Like. think that Kyle would be like, she's happy. She's smiling She's knee deep into cheese fries and on her like fifth savvy. I'm so happy to see you happy baby. , do you believe that they were having like an emotional affair over the summer and into the fall? or are you someone who does no one thinks that it started in January but No I think that she has emotionally cheated on Kyle for years with different people, whether that was like weird relationship with Jesse last season. I think that has gotten lost in the sauce a bit because it was just so far removed, but they had they had such a crazy flirtatious relationship online that everyone had eyebrows up about that. And I just think that she has been unhappy in her marriage. So she's found ways to cheat that she didn't really think was cheating probably with other guys. She just feels like the girl that is always close with her friend's boyfriends and you're always like, why are you so close to my Go find your own guy friends. Like why are you trying to like be all up on my man? you know? And I think that she just didn't realize that it was emotional cheating. That's not me defending her. I'm just saying like, you're like She's not she's not clocking that she's cheating when we're all like That's what you're Exactly. Yeah. I mean, my friend's boyfriends to me are just kind of like side characters that I don't think of often. And I'm like, Ohh, right, them Shut out So Amanda says that there was sort of a night where Wes said, Is there a vibe between us? I'm sure that's exactly what he said. And she said all of a sudden, all these feelings started coming to. And I'm like, were you on Molly? Is that what that was? Like what drug were you on? Because the drug use in summer House, I've said this a million times is so overlooked That is why they're always touching each other during parties and That's why lines get blurred so quickly lines, speaking of lines. Yeah. No, I mean, I agree. it's hard with these show. I kind of wish to talk about it, like I don't really understand why we can't always like Especially with like something Even Weed is still not even talked about that much on the shows, you know Even mushrooms, I'm sure they're microdasting mushrooms out there all the time. I mean, if you go out in the city, most people are a lot of people are taking mushrooms these days And that feels like even like a more approachable like thing to talk about on camera without it being weird. Obviously, I don't think they can say like We've been snorting below in the bathroom. Exactly. It's so it's so clearly like An additional cast member on the show Yeah, I mean, the episode where Amanda just as the goat. I can't remember what that party was, but she's like, putting her head like this in the sun and pretending to eat grass. and I'm like, I know what that is. Yeah Well, We've all been there. Or you haven't, and good for you if you haven't. Good for you. I loved how angry Lindseay got. as someone who has watched so much Bravo, what do you think Andy thought of her questioning him I have a theory that Andy can't stand, Lindsey. Blire says the same thing Where you really can see it is when she's on Watch Happens Live. He has an energy with certain people on Watch Happens Live that he just doesn't vibe with. And she's one of those people where he just looks kind of labored by her answers. Lindsy, you know, like she's I love Lindseay for reality TV. She is a star Mhm, um She's not good at reading the room though, which is why she's a good reality star And once that liquor starts hitting her bloodstream, it's it There's no rules. I mean, at the at the end of this, she's like, I just don't think I got any answers out here today. Hope we're gonna get some more answers Incredible, incredible, but you're right. Once the liquor starts flowing, she's like, this is the Lindseay show Why aren't more cameras on me right now I mean, in her defense though, like she has she has like three different ad spots in every commercial break. It's crazy. Like it is kind of the Lindsay show in many ways She is a star There's no doubt about that. And I think that's why Andy's being nicer to Amanda is because in the city. He's like, okay, we got her on two shows, but allegedly he's going to ask her more questions on the in the city reunion. We'll see how she shows up to it though Which films tomorrow at day of recordings? So on Thursday They just said it films it films tomorrow morning You should stand outside the studio Wh do you know, I'm okay. I like to keep my distance. Sometimes su are like, why aren't you going to this? I'm like, I don't know. sometometimes it goes a little too inside baseball. I'm like, I don't know that I need to be like in the room where it's all happening. You said, I don't need to be their friends No, no, I deeply have no interest in being friends with the Bravo Lbs. That really scares me. The people that like try and glom on to Bravo labs and'm always like because it never works out. let's me No It works out when it works, but when it doesn't work, it's awful. Well, and guys, I mean, I have to reveal something. I mean, listeners of my show know this, but Nasal Jan now listeners, I had West Wilson on my show after his first season and I have his phone number You should text him right now and call him and get him live. Wait, do you want to know our last text together though? becausecause he really pissed me off? I would love to. So The E was released june twenty first, twenty twenty four. And I was like, hey, the E is out whichich he gave me his phone number right after we recorded, which was really weird. It was like, why are you giving me your phone number? Yeah And then But I texted him and he was like, I've been getting shit on like crazy for doing podcasts recently. I hope you don't mind if I lay low on promoting this interview. If people see the word fame anywhere associated to me, I'm gonna get destroyed in the house. H. And then I said, o, okay, well, I can change the wording on the title or the bio or the description. if like there's something there that is like bothering you And he goes trying to protect my peace in some ways right now. I'm sorry You didn't have to come on the show. Right.. Why did you? Why did you come on if you were like not willing to And also I made him look quite good. So like I thought it was very weird that he didn't want it out there and also funny that he was like Anyone knows that like I want to talk about fame like they'll be so mad. in hindsight, like obviously, because he' he's a fame Right, you held him hostage, Tom, justust be honest. I did, I did I'm glad that Mia brought up the weird hug that Wes and Amanda had. and also I didn't realize when she was like grabbing Kyle's face, which obviously isn't okay. He like grabbed her boob and kissed her head Yeah, I this is a part of a larger issue I've had with the reunion where I felt like there were moments that the that production didn't Like prep segments for I thought the fight, that whole fight That fight night was not, they didn't really have a segment on it. Like it got brought up through Kyle and Carl's situation, but Carl didn't even really talk about that fight in part two at all. And like there were so many instances in that in that like fallout of the fight where we got these weird West moments, like the grabbing. and then back in the foyer where he's kissing Amanda's head It feels like Prouction didn't prep to talk about that like at all. It was that. And then also production didn't prep the conversation around the race conversation at the dinner table they had, which I thought was like the highlight of the season. and it was kind of bizarre that both Both that. and the fight and the touching with Western Amanda were brought up by cast members themselves and then made conversations Well, yeah, I think that's part of the issue when there's a scandal. It's like, yes, we want to know everything, but there's also other things to cover No, I know. it's just it's like all things but all to me it's all part of a puzzle, you know Yeah. ye, you're right. They should focus on more things than just West and Amanda, who aren't giving us anything Oh, they they're barely talking. This I call this part three though Wes speaks because he finally spoke. Finally, he had something to say instead of chewing on the inside of his lip, which is something I do. so I know fucked up when he went home, the inside of his bottom lip was fucked up So Amanda denies cheating but says they got closer over the summer, but not in a romantic way, like in a best friend way trouble That's trouble But Kyle and Lindsey kind of said this under their breath. We got an instance of it where they were like Lindsay's like emotional affair is even more is worse And Kyle' like yeah, how do we prove that? And he has a good point there. It's like You can it's like there's not like a hard line of like They're saying they got closer over the summer, but like What is the line from friends to line is crossed To be honest, I think it was him sticking up for Amanda because no man had ever really stuck up to Kyle in that way. And there's only so much Sierra can say Paige can say andanah could say, Lindsey could say. and it was the first time a guy was finally like, this is enough. This is inappropriate. And I think that's when wheels started to turn at least for Amanda Yeah. I definitely agree And allegedly they started hooking up around the Super Bowl, Brianna Chicken frriry's name was brought up, Dave Portnoy's name was brought up, names I never expected to hear, if I'm being honest. I still don't know what a Brianna Chicken fry really is. It's crazy to me that she's being forced on my throat. I thought she was blonde. She's a brunette. That was a twist. I didn't know that. She's had many different hair colors. Why is she a chicken fry concerns me. Does she know Haktua? Are they related? I don't know. Do you want me to tell you anything about her? Do you want to just continue to live? No, I actually I want to learn So Brianna Chicken Fries from Rockland, Massachusetts, where I used to live. She's obviously much younger, but she like loved burger King chicken fries that they used to sell and that's why she went with that nickname. I used to really, really enjoy her when she for you, Zach Byan where she used to just be like drunk in the streets in New York I didn't know that that she was with him. Yeah. so Yeah, she's really made a career for herself, which is crazy. I didn't realize she was associated with Berer King She's, well, I guess she's not That's where the nickname comes. The namesake if you all. Yeah. I hope everyone learns something here Dave Portnoy, I can't stand his ass Yeah Yeah, he's pretty brutal Hes He's hard on the eyes, hard on the ears, hard whenver T whenever he. of like shut up up and put some sunscreen on Please. You're so leathered. Is there any way that if Amanda and West came into this as like Almost like a United Front in Raquel and Tom kind of way, do you think it would have been better for them or was it going to be bad no matter what? The difference between voo betweenween Scanibal and this is that People in Scannval like Vanner Bscast, they didn't really They stumbled into that scandal. at a time when none of them were really friends anymore. And I think the stakes, to me, the stakes were almost lower from a friend side like it was just so scandalous and they were all kind of honestly excited that something like lit the franchise up again. Yeah. This scenario and I don't think they had a lot of they would never have had a lot of grace for Tom and Raquel because like They just hated for Kell to begin with. Yeah, they doesn't like her. They don't really know them. This, I do think Everyone wants to be good again. Like somehow one day because I do think this this is like a legitimate group of friends that really care about each other. I don't think S Sierra ands to fuck with Amanda ever again, that's not what I'm saying, but I do think as a larger unit, like this is a real friend group that is legitimately fractured. And if they if West and Amana came in really strong trying to be like We want to prove to you guys that like we really like love you all and also love each other Maybe the response could have been a little bit better, but I don't know. I just I think that this friend group really wants to get on the other side of this. where Scanibal, I think they kind of just wanted to live in it forever because it was making the money Yeah. Send it to Darl. Right Yeah, I guess all that's been made is like Carl's a mess. that's kind of been. Carl's a mess. I mean, Kyle Lver Boy is truly on its feet because of the scandal. But I don't but I truly in my spirit don't believe that like any of them are thankful that it happened, you know Kyle is Yeah, but like I think he is, but I just think there's a part of him and a part of all of them that like feel bummed by the friend group just falling apart. As we see with Jesse sobbing for approximately ten hours of while filming really broke him because I think he really believed that this group was like a real unit I'll never understand my feelings for Jesse Solomon Like because they they are wishy washy or do you like always defend always back and forth with him. sometometimes I'm like he's so and I hated how he treated Lexi. I know he so weird. Justice for Lexi. Justice for Lexi and the I hated the honestly, I hated the way Paige, Sierra and Amanda treated her at last reunion. like I have not really liked Sierra, Amanda and Paiage for years because they're not nice to the new girls. But seeing obviously how much Sierra cared for Amanda, I was just like, oh my God, like my My whole heart hurts for her. That's why I don't like Jesse Solomon And I think it's weird that West was like, I didn't understand what Sira felt until I saw what Jesse went through with Lexi. I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about? So weird. Well West, I think just says, you know, My thing with Jesse is that like I just need him to have a little bit of a sense of humor about himself. H The way he takes his music so seriously is a big ick of mine. Like when people take something so incredibly seriously without a heheaha, I'm like, abort, abort. I can't be around this, abort I guess I'll stop. I guess I'll stop. It's just a funny song too because it's like I guess I'll start singing. I guess I'll start a music career on the back of a Somewhere else. Thank you, Bravo Yeah, I mean, watching West just continuously answer questions about Miha without even answering questions when he said, I obviously wasn't the clearest and I told her it wasn't an exclusive relationship, but she probably thought it was Are you even sayaying and Amanda, how can you see that and be like That's my man. There he is. My baby is so crazy over there. like Just lying, he just lies. and I love him for it. Like what Right, she definitely didn't know about the Valentine's Day flowers. and she said a few times like I didn't know all of this. I knew bits and pieces. She learned some things about him at this reunion. And it seems that it didn't really matter at No. She's still spitting in his mouth in Italy, Can I tell you my theory on all their Italy spottings? Stage? Yes, one hundred percent and I think West has now convinced Amanda or Amanda chose this. I mean, things just seem to happen to Amanda. She doesn't seem to like choose anything But I think he said we need to lean in. And if we lean in, and prove that we're together and it'll piss people off, but people will keep our names like in the headlines and that's what's most important Yeah, I don't disagree. It's hard for me to believe that someone in Rome is taking photos of two stars from Summer House. Guys, I know that if you're here You're thirty minutes into this episode. You love Bravo and Summerhouse like we do, like But like we're very small, it's smaller than you would realize like the amount of people that watch this show because there's people that like There are so many people that would see them at the airport and be like, who are like why are people taking photos of them? It's hard for me to believe that they're being surveilled on an Italian vacation In even the spitting in the mouth video, I was like justice for my one season wonder Sam because she said she liked it when guys spit in her mouth and all the girls had a problem with it I forgot about that. I liked Sam. Me too. Cory's what got her down because of all of his mess that which Yeah, which one? I mean, he's such a nightmare Oh, he sucks. I hope I never see Corey again Well, he showed up on Southern Charm last season and it was really upsetting to me. And I'm happy it seems like they wanted to try and include him in the cast a little bit and I'm happy that that was aborted. He was mean to Molly and I was like, G him the fuck out That was so no one can me Molly is perfect to me. Yeah. Molly's like my favorite kind of reality star. and I understand you can't have a whole cast of Mollies, but I think she's an important person to have on a cast.
