A Quick Note on Apple Review Times (and What's Coming)

24 Jul 2026Ben Bowler

Big changes are coming soon.

I don't want to say more than that yet. We'll talk about them properly when they're ready. But I want to be upfront about the release cadence in the meantime, because a few of you have asked.

Apple review is slow at the moment

Right now, Apple's App Store review is taking about a week per submission. Every bug fix I ship, every polish pass, every feature tweak goes into a queue, and I don't hear back for roughly seven days. If it gets rejected for anything (a metadata detail, a wording quirk, an unrelated cross-check), the clock resets.

So a normal-week release can turn into a two-week release pretty easily. If you want to see what recently made it through, the latest What's New post has the shipped list.

Android is running faster

Android users, you're in luck for once. Google Play review is measured in hours, not days. If you're on Android and you notice a change land quickly, that's why. Both platforms ship the same builds (available on iOS and Android), but Apple's queue is longer at the moment.

We're not delaying anything

If you've talked to us in support about a bug, or you've suggested a feature we said we'd look at, that's the reason it's not in your hands yet. We're not delaying. We're not deprioritising. We're just going through the review pipeline like everyone else, and Apple is slow.

What's coming

The good news (small g) is that the batch of things we're working on is worth the wait. When it lands, it lands together, and I'll write it up properly. Thanks for your patience.
